Ooh!

Terrible situation to be in but just out of interest - would you open it?

Gladly. You get to know where you stand. And then you can easily plan your life accordingly. I wouldn't be saving money today if I knew I was gonna die in a year.

No I don't think so, otherwise I couldn't live the rest of my life properly, I'll always be worrying about that date..

I would open it and plan my life accordingly.

A few months before the date arrives I'd be bricking... :danish

I always used to think that if an opportunity like this would arise, I would take it. Now, I got thinking again and I don't think I would open it. I know that it's possible that I could die at any given time but if I know about it before hand, I would completely change my life. I'd like to see what I can do with my life without much outside influence. It's interesting to see how people reason their decisions.

How do you live your life now?

Studying.. however, I would want to continue studying and not know when I will die. It's about perspective, not opening the envelope, staying healthy and believing you will live a long life.

What if there is a twist. What if opening the envelope brings your date of passing forward by a certain amount. Now would you open it?

Interesting, I'm not fully sure about this. I would want to know the magnitude of the difference before hand, and age at death. As we have to consider quality of life, for example, if instead of dying at 95 you die at 105, but you won't be able to do much and would require assistance with everything, would it be worth it?

The whole spice of life is in the unknown! Taking that away will 'kill' the point of living!

Yeah! Of course!! more than anything in the world I want to know the date of my death.Used to be scared of death but not anymore.Ultimately all have to die.Death is ultimate truth.

Absolutely. Need to know when my time will be up so I can live accordingly.

Also, can't resist the temptation to drop a Dota quote here: "Birth is a promise. Death, it's fulfillment."
