Imad Wasim a toxic person in the dressing room?

A very interesting take on this by Mohammad Wasim

Not surprising.

Mohammad Wasim never has anything good to say about Imad

Ramiz Raja never has anything good to say about Sarfaraz.

Azhar Ali will always defend Babar at all costs

Misbah ul Haq will always find a way to make Iftikhar look like some Lance Klusenar waiting to be unleashed

Hafeez will always have an issue with Amir being given preferential treatment because Amir is a genuine superstar but Hafeez is a genuine toxic Aunty.

Shoaib Akhtar rightly says that ‘average minded people will give average results’. The SNGPL nexus and their views are part and parcel of their average, useless opinions on cricket.

Pakistan cricket is just bunch of mediocre individuals who have convinced themselves they are superstars and can do whatever they want. The reality is these players are nobodies and the team is a minnow that’s losing to the US, Ireland and Zimbabwe and regularly crashing out of ICC tournaments in the first round.

All kinds of names will be leaked and thrown around just to deflect from the true leaders, the real ones with power having to take responsibility for Pakistan's abject exit.

People tend to forget what a toxic person Mohammad Wasim is. I have never heard Imad say anything bad about him directly. But he has accused Imad of everything from 'faking an injury' to 'prioritizing franchise cricket over country.' This after Wasim dropped Imad from the side for absolutely no reason other than the fact that he thought Mohammad Nawaz was a better cricketer than him. A decision that cost us dearly at the 2022 T20 WC and the 2023 WC.

Anyway laptop boy can take a hike and go back to making his substandard PowerPoint presentations. That's the only thing he'll ever be remembered for anyway.

These kinds of things will always come to limelight after such a humiliating campaign. Everybody would want to take advantage of an open opportunity now.

They are now looking for a scapegoat
What good is it now to reveal Imad wasn’t happy with Shaheen bowling the first over in 2021? 3 years ago?

Muhammad Wasim has done enough damage to Pakistan cricket with his hatred towards Imad. Why is he insistent on isolating him more?

this statement by Wasim is not appropriate for the occasion. Maybe he is trying to get some attention by giving old references that have no connection with the current performance.

He’s trying to create hate and isolation for Imad.

Maybe he should explain why Imad and Amir both returned for Pakistan on the request of Shaheen Afridi? These two really couldn’t care less if they played again for Pakistan, but Shaheen personally reaching out to them for the sake of Pakistan they came back. They continued and stuck by Pakistan even though Babar backstabbed Shaheen for captaincy, they really don’t like Babar and his way of doing things…but they stuck by.

So what’s the point to now reveal a dressing room difference Imad had with the team management in 2021?

There is always a level of confrontation and tension in any dressing room. If you isolate every thing that is said it makes things look very bad.

Think in your own day to day job how many times you have disagreements with Co-workers over projects but at the end of the day you are still in good spirits and quickly move on.

Now imagine if someone noted down all those minor disagreements. They would suddenly appear big.

As a fan I want every player to put themselves forward for positions. I want them to feel like they are the best man for the job. Otherwise what's the point in them being there?

If Imad clearly felt he was the best man for the job then good on him for expressing it. As long as he still gives his 100% if he is overlooked then who cares?

It's up to the team management to make the calls and decide what works best.

Unfortunately every single Pakistani coach or whoever is part of the set up seems to remember all the bad things that players did during their tenure. But none had the balls to speak up at the time or do something about it.

So we're gonna pretend Imad wasn't hurt and clearly hid it (selectors didn't even pick any reserves so they were clearly unaware) and that he prioritizes franchise cricket over country which is another fact.

He has shown zero desire to play for Pakistan except in the recently concluded World Cup. His decision to retire again right after the World Cup proves he prefers franchise cricket.

Where did he retire again? In your imagination?

He literally only made himself available for the World Cup lol. Deluded Imad fans think their hero is back for good 🤣

Khair at least this post of yours suggests deep down you agree that Imad retiring again would prove he prioritizes franchise cricket over country.

-------------

Pakistan cricketers Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir have decided to retire again from international cricket after their poor performance in the ongoing T20 World Cup, sources told Express News on Saturday.

It was reported that Amir and Wasim will announce their retirement after playing their last match for Pakistan against Ireland in Florida on Sunday.

Both players, who renounced their retirement to make themselves available to play the T20 World Cup for Pakistan, did not meet expectations in the major event and did not contribute to any performance that could lead to the team's victory.

Sources confirmed that formal retirement announcements will be made soon by both cricketers after which they will only play league

There is no player in the current Pak side who plays for the country. They are all doing so for money or personal glory. All of them as toxic as each other the whole team is venomous towards each other.

What would you do if you were dropped from the team for absolutely no reason eventhough you were performing? Imad retired because he was being bullied by the PCB over his NOC. The question you should be asking is why PCB would even bully a retired player?

LOL PCB knew exactly what they were getting into when they selected him. They were desperate, not him. They asked him to come back. He didn't beg them to select him.

How can you even talk about fitness in a squad that selected Azam Khan

A lot of guys have talked about Imad's attitude in the dressing room. Maybe there is some truth in this after all???

Imad is no saint and everybody knows about his behavior and egoistic attitude.

Imad was dropped in Nov 2021, here's his stats from two years prior to up until the day he was dropped.

Utterly useless with the bat and bang average with the ball. Not sure what's so special about this that you feel he was unfairly dropped.

And just because PCB was desperate to bring him back, it's okay for him to hide his injury? Lol.

A nothing cricketer who has hardly achieved anything substantial in international cricket is being discussed too much. This is sheer injustice to the international cricket. People should avoid talking about mediocre cricketers like Imad who is lucky get some international matches under his belt.

In hindsight the PCB made a poor decision.

The two that came back played two of the worst innings with bat or ball in t20 history.

But I disagree with one point. Imad was clearly desperate for selection hence his bizarre and bitter rants on TV.

The return of him and Amir ended up being a sorry chapter in Pakistan cricket. I hope it is investigated and the same mistakes are never made again.

What are you basing this on? The words of a laptop boy ex-chief selector who is still sour that he was sent packing, and that nobody cared about his lame PowerPoint presentations?

Imad was injured, which is why he didn't played the England and USA T20s. And even if he was still injured in the India match, there is absolutely no way that the team management did not know about it. They likely asked him to play with an injection or something because that's how desperate they were to have a spin-bowling option that wouldn't get carted all over the ground by the Indian batters.

Another example of big mouth but small performance in important matches. A karachi quota player.

His innings vs India vindicated Babar’s decision to drop him two years and also to not select him again.

An absolute fraud of a cricketer.

Imad took care of that himself with his embarrassing knock vs India.
Just like Babar has done so by backstabbing Shaheen for captaincy and then producing another embarrassing campaign. Lost to USA

I would argue that someone criticizing the captain on live TV is the last person asking for his team in the place back. Why would someone want to antagonize the captain, team management if he wanted to come back into the team?

What is there to investigate? This isn't the Enron scandal lol. Pakistan were desperate to get Imad and Amir into the side and they did fairly well with the ball, all things considered. Amir was probably our best bowler in the tournament and Imad was typically miserly with the ball, and in stark contrast to the other spinner Shadab who was beaten like a government mule.

Both gave two awful performances in two particular matches but focusing on them means looking past the abject failures of the rest. Particularly the middle order batters, none of whom even scored 50 runs in the entire tournament. Wheras, Babar and Rizwan, who did score runs constantly gave away their wickets at key junctures when the responsibility was on them to finish the game/innings off. What is the point of averaging 40+ if you can't even score that many runs in a crucial match?

Pakistan's bowling was great barring the USA match, it was the batting that failed miserably. How can you expect to win matches if no one from your middle order can even score more than 50 runs in the entire tournament, let alone one match.

Just because a player argues to bowl him the first over doesn't mean he becomes toxic. If everyone recalls before Imad was ousted he was the team's main weapon with the new ball

Just like Babar has done so by backstabbing Shaheen for captaincy and then producing another embarrassing campaign. Lost to USA
The peak embarrassing moments were Amir’s 19 runs Super Over was mighty USA and Imad’s pathetic match losing innings vs India. Within that innings, the peak embarrassing moment was him was missing 4 consecutive deliveries off Axar Patel.

What’s more embarrassing was Pakistan’s powerplay specialists hiding when Gary Kirsten asked them to step up and get these runs for Pakistan.

We only needed 19. What happened?

The words we have seen used such as desperate to return back to the side or some have said begged to come back are just hyperbole. We don't know the reasons or the discussions that took place or what the factors were.

It could be that they were offered a fresh start. It doesn't mean beg or that the team was desperate. This is just speculation.

The exact reasons for their return must be investigated. It's normal course for businesses. Someone took a decision to return old players to the team and they failed miserably. On what basis were they determined to be fit and able to bowl in a world cup? Just two days before the match Imad was seen praying on a chair.

Babar and Rizwan's numerous failures are unrelated to Imad. They should be dealt with separately and based on leaks it sounds like they are more toxic than him.

Why must it be a cause of such severe investigation? Everybody knows that the PSL has been PCT's major yardstick for selection into the national side. Imad was arguably the overall top performer of the latest edition and was crucial for ISL to win the tournament. If Azam Khan and Usman Khan can get selected, why is it so shocking for Imad to be selected? It's not like he was atrocious in the WC either... besides the inning against India (a match in which I defer more blame on Rizwan than anything).

As for Amir, for anyone who's been following Pak cricket for awhile, why is his selection alarming? How many times have we seen vets brought back to play World Cups such as the likes of Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Sohail Tanvir, etc. Amir is experienced, has experience playing World Cups, has experience winning ICC trophies, has experience in playing in the Caribbean, and so on.

This is your second comment demanding an investigation into their returns. There is nothing shocking about it. We had a captain who wanted the best for his team so he went and tried to formulate the best squad that he could so he picked players that became standout performers with the ball in the WC. There is nothing that needs to be investigated.

Fans of both player have claimed they were unfit.

Amir too tired to bowl and Imad too tired to run.

Surely we need to understand the thought process here and the complete disregard for process if the above is true.

A full post mortem of the failures in this WC is required and ultimately they are part of that procedure.

Again, you have other more unfit players on the team. Why the toughness on Amir & Imad? Like, Azam Khan is on the team. HIS selection should be investigated. Or Iftikhar's, for consistently being in the playing 11 despite absolute dud performances. Or the reluctance to play Abrar despite him absolutely warranting a place in the team. I agree, a full post mortem is required, but I fail to understand why you have to 'investigate' the selections of Amir and Imad. It's not that crazy to understand. Their returns have been constantly discussed for a long time now anyway. Investigate the non-performers, not two of your top bowlers.
