Have seen this many times, Maxwell executed many reverse sweeps successfully on the 2014 tour. Munro executed reverse sweeps flawlessly when he was batting. Hafeez has always used the paddle shots very effectively. Imad Wasim when he hit the six of Southee today, swept the full toss for six.

Everytime players like Asif and others have tried to fully muscle the ball towards mid on, mid off, they have ended up wholing out. Maybe the boundaries are just too big or the pitches are not conducive towards hitting big in those areas but perhaps one method or secret to having a high run rate is to practice mastering these reverse sweeps, deft touches, paddle shots? How many players in our team are very good players of reverse sweeps when the entire world is now using that shot as a proper attacking cricketing stroke?

It’s more about getting yourself in imo

These pitches aren’t the type that you can slog out from ball one

you need heavier bats and come down the pitch to take the pitch condition out of the equation.

Rohit and Dhawan made the pitches look like roads with orthodox shots, and they were supposedly up against the bowling attack in the world.

They have batted the best in these conditions. Even Mushfiq ur Raheem has looked comfortable and at ease on these UAE wickets. But the rest of the Indian batting line up struggled to bat as fluently as those two.
