That is when he was most famous and became a household name. He became more religious once he was past his bachelor days like a lot of Pakistanis who are exposed to the hedonistic lifestyle in the west.

Yes .. I'm aware of his bachelor past and his subsequent transformation. Although .. you have to wonder how much of the latter is due to political expediency and his PM ambitions.

Can’t speak for others but I am happy he is alive. Bradfordiyas have an attention span of a gold fish, so god forbid if such news comes out, they will mourn a couple of mins and then back to their usual nonsense of Hindu-Tawa, Moody, beef, Aurangazeb nonsense 🤣

At least this good news will keep their focus on Muniz etc once in a while.

I see this as a positive from all fronts including Imran who I am a fan of as a cricketer 👍

You can wonder whatever you like I suppose, especially if you don't really know the details. But he had massive celebrity status regardless in the west, he had no need for PM ambitions in Pakistan. Most neutral observers would consider the only reason for his return to Pakistan was misguided patriotism. He even tried to settle his British wife there and in the end it cost him his marriage, although she still seems to be a big supporter.

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan is reportedly in good health and has met his sister, Dr Uzma Khanum, according to Dawn News on Tuesday evening. The meeting comes after weeks of speculation about Khan’s condition, intensified by reports that his family had been barred from visiting him for several weeks.

The unrest surrounding Khan’s health followed protests by his supporters in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, which prompted authorities to impose restrictions on large gatherings. Despite these measures, PTI followers continued to agitate outside the Islamabad High Court earlier in the day.

Concerns about Khan’s well-being escalated last month when three of his sisters, Noreen Niazi, Aleema Khan, and Uzma Khan, claimed they were assaulted while attempting to meet him. His sons also raised alarms, suggesting that jail authorities were concealing “something irreversible” about their father’s condition. One son, Kasim Khan, told Reuters that there had been no verifiable contact despite a court order mandating weekly visits. The family also reported that Khan’s personal doctor had been denied access.

Prior to Tuesday’s meeting, neither Khan’s family nor members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had seen him for over 25 days, fuelling rumours that the former Prime Minister may have died, with speculation suggesting authorities were attempting a cover-up due to his popularity. Pressure intensified on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s government, with PTI Senator Khurram Zeeshan claiming that Khan was being kept in isolation as a strategy to coerce him into leaving Pakistan. Zeeshan alleged that the government felt threatened by Khan’s widespread support and therefore avoided sharing proof of life.

Khan, a 72-year-old World Cup-winning cricketer turned politician, has been imprisoned since August 2023. Rumours of his death circulated on social media accounts from Afghanistan, where tensions over a border dispute with Pakistan remain high.

On Tuesday, Uzma Khan was finally allowed to meet her brother in Adiala Jail, as PTI members had threatened mass protests despite restrictions in Rawalpindi. Speaking to reporters after the visit, she confirmed that Khan was being kept in solitary confinement and subjected to mental pressure but was otherwise in good health. “Imran Khan is fine, his health is good. He has been kept in solitary confinement, he is being tortured mentally,” she said, putting an end to circulating death rumours.

Earlier reports suggested that the jail authorities had granted the meeting under strict conditions, but Uzma clarified, “No conditions were imposed. We don’t go by conditions.” She described the relief of finally being allowed to meet her brother amid a heavily guarded prison complex.

The weeks preceding the meeting had been marked by heightened tensions around Adiala Jail, with more than 700 security personnel deployed, additional checkpoints set up, and protests by Khan’s sisters and PTI workers. Last week, his sisters alleged that they were manhandled and briefly detained by police while staging demonstrations.

Maybe your Urdu isnt as good as you Sanskrit. His sister is worried naturally but she was saying they are TRYING TO torture him in various ways in mentally.

But this is Imran Khan, not some tea seller. He cannot be broken and not bow down to anyone but the one True God.

Umar Khaleed and Sharjeel are some 2 bit activists even if you ignore they are jihadis/ terrorists etc. IK is a former leader of Pakistan. elected or selected is a different debate.Do you see a fundamental difference? Kuch bhi lmao.

Also this is a life lesson for people who say Moody-dictator, Hindutva etc. this is how a dictatorship or a radical regime looks like: that’s the obvious point you seem to miss.

They were not confirming like Indian/Afghan media were doing. Afghanistanis were so sure about it and the Indian media were reporting it. None of the Pakistani media channels claimed it. They just said 'as per reports' and no official made any comment on this. And of course, die-hard supporters/family members have had every reason to worry.

Media role to reports the rumors/ News , just like every other news outlets, Indian Also reported it. They didn't claimed imran Khan is died.

Here dozen of Pakistan and wannabe Pakistan posters claimed, he is likely dead unlike those I never claimed it.

As expected any Muslim who raises voice against BJP is terrorist. There are in jail only because they are muslims. There is no proven charge against them.

India has 202 crore Muslims. Not possible to arrest everyone. Get out of of which ever institution you are posting this info from.

In fact a lot of high ranking police officers and judges are Muslims too.

Imran Khan is an iconic person from this region and has always received tremendous love from India over the years. He might not have been the perfect Prime Minister but we have no doubt the man desired good things for Pakistan and he truly did many good things for that country.

As an Indian, I have openly criticized him here over the years on many political issues related to India-Pakistan politics where I feel he could have done a lot more to bring both nations closer. People might disagree and it’s ok because I am not Mr Know All. Only God knows best.

That being said, Imran Khan is levels above Pakistan’s notorious political elite and current Fauji dictator. On humanitarian grounds stand by him and all those Pakistanis who are asking the right questions for a better Pakistan.

My battles with Pakistani posters will continue on many topics in the future. But in this moment, I e are standing with them in solidarity.

But it was the Pakistani establishment who locked him up, the Pakistani establishment who put him in solitary confinement, and the Pakistani establishment who refused to let anyone see him for weeks. This is what caused the rumour.

Instead of talking about the above people are blaming Indians for allegedly spreading lies.

It is like saying "HAHAHAHA Indian media your lies got rumbled, he is not dead, he is just in a cell experiencing mental torture and unable to see anyone with no sign of release. We really showed you Indians up"

Have some perspective man.

Absolutely. Apparently its the fault of others that IK is solitary confinement for opposing a millitary coup by a vicious and greedy elite. Its even more galling that IKs torture is being used in the battle between murderous Munir and the crooked Sharifs as some of bargaining chip makes these thugs even more vile than anyone ever thought a Muslim could be.
