In WTC, should Pakistan be awarded series wins against teams which refuse to tour?

For eg if Bangladesh do not come to Pakistan I think they should be made to forfeit rather than not play or have neutral venue

I’m tempted to agree, but that would probably provoke the Big Three to push for two World Test Championship divisions - with Pakistan dumped into the Second Division.

I personally agree. Unless a team can provide valid and factual reasons for not touring, there is absolutely no reason for neutral venues now. So if a team refuses with any solid justification Pak should be awarded the points.

Yes it would be quite hilarious if we fluke our way into the WTC Final because teams don’t want to tour Pakistan, and then produce a Champions Trophy Final performance against India in the final.

Yes. The ICC has deemed Pakistan safe for international cricket, so if you still don't want to tour, you're forfeiting the games.

If the ICC deems Pakistan as safe and still Bangladesh refuses then that will count as a forfeit similar to what England did in the Cricket World Cup in the 90s. So Pakistan will gain 120 points automatically in this scenario.

Like in late 90s (not early coz Pak blocked) when Asian bloc supported each other maybe , not happening otherwise.

I think from 2011 onwards its clear this wasn’t going to happen ..unless you are talking about should?

If Pakistan is deemed "safe" by the ICC, then there is absolutely no reason for Bangladesh or any other team to refuse from touring.

If the ICC can guarantee the safety of the players, which is a huge liability for the ICC to take on.

Also if they deem Pakistan safe then there will be no need for players to be restricted to their hotels if they have guaranteed safety.

What if the ICC and independent security experts class it as safe? Then what?

If Bangladesh don’t feel safe to travel they won’t. ICC won’t intervene if Bangladesh decide not to travel.

If that actually happens, will the other teams be ready to add Pakistan in the next WTC cycle in the 6 team quota of the required teams to be played against?

Sri Lanka were awarded points in the 1996 WC so of course they should. If a team refuses to tour, they should forfeit all the series points to Pakistan.

If the ICC agrees that Pakistan is indeed safe then BD will have to lose points if they don't come just like how it happens in the WC

Every county follows direction from their respective foreign office. What ICC thinks is completely irrelevant. ICC cannot force other nations to tour a country. India have toured Zimbabwe multiple times but England haven’t toured them for far too long. In such situations, playing in neutral country is best option

Kenya was awarded points in 2003, Zimbabwe as well, Sri Lanka in 1996 tournament that they won. So why not pakistan in WTC?

ICC do their own risk analysis and investigations. If they deem it safe they allow the tour if not they don’t allow it to go ahead. In this case ICC is the governing body and if they deem it safe for play and a team does not tour, they should lose the points. They ain’t telling you to go on a holiday to Pakistan, where of course home office would be involved and relevant.

ICC had every right and authority to dock points, they are the governing body.
