India [144/3] beat Sri Lanka [142/9] by 7 wickets in 2nd T20I to take 1-0 lead in 3-match series

It will be a travesty if Dhawan ends up scoring more than KL Rahul and goes up the pecking order.

SL 142/9 (20.0)
IND 101/2 (14.3) CRR: 6.97 REQ: 7.64
India need 42 runs in 33 balls

Easy win for Ind from here :)

Kohli's love affair with Malinga continues....

Bhajji being quite dismissive of Pakistan's chances against us....

I am still not convinced about Shreyas Iyer. He needs to prove himself in SENA and against SENA and Pakistan. He is not a confirmed no 4 for me. But for now, he will do.

101m six by Shreyas. Missed him really badly in WC.

What SENA? They are all batting tracks with field restrictions. You need big hitters who can change course of the game.

What an imperious pull for six to seal the match. Richardsque six. Not a slow ball by any means. 140k plus.

SENA I can understand but he doesn't need to prove jack against Pak lol.

How did I miss that series decider is in Pune? Its too late to buy tickets!

Now I will have to beg some chomu for cheap tickets. :(

Good performance by SRL actually, considering that this is full strength India and they won a crucial toss as well. Don’t think, SRL will be able to beat India batting first here.

SL is seriously out of depth against this Indian team which is already missing it's several key players like Rohit, Hardik and Chahal. Plus we are playing Thakur which is akin to playing with 10 players.

So no, this is not a full strength Indian team.

Not exactly full strength sirji, Rohit is being rested for this series.

Rohit made 264 on this very ground against Srilanka lol He wasn't playing.

Didn’t notice Sharma missing, but still it’s probably the strongest T20 squad India has played in last few months.

India rarely plays their full squad in T20. Somebody will always be missing. The only reason why even Kohli plays is because of world t20. Otherwise he and Bumrah would have given a miss.

According to Manjrekar "Rahul is breathing down Dhawan's neck" lol It is almost as if Dhawan is the preferred choice and KL Rahul is his competition. Actually it is the other way around.

Manjrekar is extremely biased and and have zero understanding other than lobbybaazi and petty politics. He even rates Shardul more than Saini.

I agree that we need big hitters in T20s. Shreyas Iyer has not yet proved (he may prove himself in the next tours to SENA though) to hit fast bowlers who can bowl bouncers for sixes/fours. Something is not right with his technique. He bats like a slogger or a drafter. Doesn't have the fluency of KL Rhaul either. Yes he gets runs, but he hasn't been challenged enough by the opposition, I feel. I am happy to be proven wrong and see Iyer do well across the world.

Sri Lanka captain Lasith Malinga said on Tuesday that they missed their “main bowler” Isuru Udana who got injured during warm-up just before they went out to defend 143 in the second T20I against India here on Tuesday.

Sri Lanka lost by seven wickets as India trampled them to take 1-0 lead in the three-match series at the Holkar Stadium here. The first match in Guwahati was called off without a ball being bowled due to rain and damp pitch. The final game of the series will be played in Pune on Friday.

“He’s (Udana) our main bowler and is very experienced in this format. He got injured just before we went out to bowl. He’s recovering now. We also need to give opportunities to the youngsters,” said Malinga at the post-match presentation ceremony.

“We were around 25-30 runs short. We tried to bowl consistent line and length. The bowlers did well to drag the match till the 18th over,” Malinga added.

India chased down the modest target with 15 balls to spare. Sri Lanka lost wickets at regular intervals after they were put into bat.

india don't even care about t20 bilaterals. it's used as an opportunity for players to get picked for red ball or white ball cricket. That's how bumrah got picked.

Manjrekar is also a big joker in the long list of sub continent commies.he is only slightly bearable due to his accent better than some desis who stops everyother second to utter next words.
