True but still would be a good addition.. sort of a feather to our cap. I expect absopute domination from us thoughLittle importance tournament, doesn't lead to qualification for any major tournament.
Time to test the young guns!
Impressive stuff from Indian hockey4th quarter begins and we lead 3 -0
It was a nice outing for a fresh squad but some more goals were required. Our PC conversion is still not that great. The defence is solid but there is still last minute jitters as seen in the China where they dominated in the dying minutes. They were unlucky to miss out of a few goals.Impressive stuff from Indian hockey
Is this really the prize for being an MOTM , thats like around 18k INR or 58k PKR. This is nothing in the world of professional sports. Did they find no proper sponsor for this tournament?Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024: Pakistan Held to 2-2 Draw by Malaysia

It's a draw, but Pakistan should have won it
Possibly because team sports are not their thing. The Chinese tend to excel more in sports which involve individual performances.I don't know why China is unable to dominate hockey and soccer. They have so much of infra, resources and money. Plus football is super popular here...
China is mediocre in team sports. Even after pumping billions in football, they still haven't qualified for the World cup barring the 2002 editionI don't know why China is unable to dominate hockey and soccer. They have so much of infra, resources and money. Plus football is super popular here...
We are sending a newer team to test them. Its good for practice before facing the big boys. Rankings are meaningless in the long runIndia does not even gain a single ranking point from any of the wins. A draw or a loss will send our ranking points down by literally 200 points or more. All loss and no gain.
Why are we even playing in this tournament??

LolMalayasia and Korea have gone down so much, I remember losing to them in late 1990s , the Pillai era.
True, weird how I underestimated our players.Lol
They didn't go down, we went up. We were outside of top 10 and were on par with those teams 10 years back. Now we are no 3/4/5. Hence the gap.
