What's new

India now hold ALL of the Test trophies

Well played to India, lot of ppl knew after India lost the first test that they would eventually win the series 2-1. Was a great contest, both the teams were bringing the heat right at each other, its been a while since I seen such an exciting test series...

P.S. Special mention to my boi Monsee who made a brief appearance after India lost the first test and then went into hibernation afterwards :)

yapp hold all the trophies now....best side in the world for a reason...

Yes.

We were almost going to lose it in Bangalore but we did it.

You can see that this team has some serious character.

To provide the split:

Australia: HOME
England: HOME
Sri Lanka: HOME & AWAY
Pakistan: HOME (but eons ago lol)
New Zealand: HOME
West Indies: HOME & AWAY
South Africa: HOME
Bangladesh: HOME & AWAY
Zimbabwe: HOME & AWAY (was 2005 the last time we played Zimbabwe in a test?)

Here's hoping we can go abroad and show some fight with this team.

Sorry to be bearer of bad news but we don't. Ind vs Eng has 2 different trophies depending on where it is held. So we definitely don't hold all bilateral trophies.

Rubbers not nomenclatures.

Its not nomenclature my friend, it is a completely different trophy. Op talks about trophy and that is factually inaccurate.

india qualified for n.o 1 test team till cut off date and deserved it rightly so....winning holding trophies against each team comprehensively .

Congrats for winning the freedom trophy

Bangladesh are a better test team then India at present, they beat lanka in lanka yet AUS failed to and then went on to humiliate India in India.

Using transitive logic Aus LOST to India and Pak LOST to Aus.

After the WI win in the UAE, Pakistan also came close to holding all trophies. Only India and SA were missing from the cabinet at that time.

Congrats to India. Super achievement. Deserving number 1.

Shaz bhai that is desperate logic :)))

He is actually a very good poster, and most of us loved his interview. It's just that his hatred for India and anything Indian is getting boring.

Just facts guys, how? am a big fan of Anil Kumble, Rahane, Ashwin, Mohammad Kaif during the Natwest series, 90's non-soft run scoring Sachin, Yadav and Amit Mishra. Soft spot for Ishant as well

I like the Hitman as well even if he was always 2nd best in the 90's

I still consider you to be a v.v.v.v. good poster, one of my personal favorites when you are neutral. You are wonderfully talented. It's just that you despise India or anything Indian, or are you merely pretending to do so?

I think both Bret and Shawn were equally good in the 90's. It's during Shawn's second run that he left Bret and everyone else in the dust.

Have to say I love shaz619's posts nowadays :))

If they actually stopped with the politics and actually played us this might have been different.

Just like the great Oz team of old times.

No 1 team in the world. :kohli

This is well and truly a magnificent achievement. For someone who's been following cricket for 25+ years, I never thought India would (a) one day become #1 in Tests and (b) hold the rubber against every opponent.

Dhoni's team shattered the first one and now Kohli's team has achieved both. Now the next two goals should be: maximize the # of weeks at #1 (Aus clearly ahead of everyone else here by a huge margin, but India should try and get ahead of SA at least) and then hold on to the rubbers against Eng, Aus, SA and NZ while touring.

What trophies are there? Does it mean they are currently the winner of a bilateral series against every team?

India might have a Pakistan trophy, but according to ICC logic, that trophy does not exist anymore.

Apli gali main shair bane huaye hain. Aussies were never afraid to come and beat others in their own backyards. For me its a decorated drama. BCCI is on their way to make cricket like what basketball and baseball are for USA.
