Thats going to be an interesting contest. Australia on the back of a modest performance in the recent 20-20 tournament. They would want to restore their lost pride. India on the contrary will have to live upto their position, as T-20 champions. An interesting contest in the making. Whatever the outcome ... I believe this would be a close contest. There won't be a single outright winner.

After an entire summer of respite, we're being treated by the voice of shivanamakrishana. :26:

Australia has missed a trick. Mitchell Johnson is playing instead of Hilfenhaus, bad move in my opinion. Australia's bowling attack (Hogg, Johnson, Lee and Clark) looks brittle.

Adam Voges is playing in this game, another bad move because he's not the best bat going around in Australia.

India in prime position to win this game, although batting second on this wicket seems to be a disadvantage:

The 22 yard strip to be used for this game has an even coverage of grass throughout and there are a few cracks here and there. This is a flat track and promises to offer good bounce throughout the course of the game. If I were the skipper, even I would have opted to bat first. With the sun beating hard, this pitch should produce good runs and as the artificial lights come into play, we may see the ball doing a bit. This is certainly a "Win the toss, bat first pitch".

ground is pretty much full already.

Richards says even cover of grass. There are cracks but he says the pitch is rock hard so they will not disintegrate. Bit of seam will be around.

Barry says 250 is par. That's not good enough imo.

There is a chance of rain for later in the day. Good chance we will get a stoppage.

Wide to start with.

Huge crescendo from the crowd....typical anticlimax...:>

Zaheer has bowled really wide this whoel over. Bucknor has been VERy generous to not call it a wide.

Australia
6-0 1.0 overs

Sreesanth will take the ball from the other end.

There is definitely something in the pitch. If the Indians can bowl in the right places here, they can make the Gilchrist regret his decision....

as I say that, sreesanth straying down the leg side and gilchrist flicks it for 4.

Both overs so far have had 2 or 3 bad balls. That makes those yorkers a bit less unnerving for the Aussies. Bowlers need to focus here.

BRILLIANT catch from yuvraj.

OH MAN what a catch. AWESOME. Gilchrist gone.

14-1

Sreesanth can't control his swing. Looking too charged up for his own good. 2 wides in a row. Ganguly has a word.

and next ball Hodge is gone!!!!!

That was a good yorker. Could have been going down leg. But given.

EDIT: It was a good decision. Comfortably hitting the stumps.

Micheal Clarke out in the middle now. Aussies in a bit of bother at 18-2 after 3.1

There is MASSIVE movement in the air AND of the seam right now.
Clarke and Hayden need to concentrate.

Atul Wasan in commentary:- Like two ladies can't stay in one kitchen .. it's tough for Dhoni to captain side with so many ex-captains

haha ....

yep that's how I'm watching it. :19:

Sreesanth has No control over his swing right now. When he aims at the wickets....it swings and goes down leg side. When he aims wide....it doesn't swing and it goes way wide.

sreesanth really losing the plot here - dhoni should consider bringing RP on while the ball is still fresh and swinging

Both bowlers getting good bounce.

Zaheer bowling in 130s. Sreesanth bowling in 140s.

Australia
27-2 6.2 overs

Finally Hayden frees his arms. 4 through backward point. 9 off that over.

Australia
36-2 7.0 overs

The outfield is like lightening!

Aussies need a partnership here...!

RP Singh into the attack now.

I don't agree with this move. Sreesanth was going for runs but he was troubling the batsman with his pace. RP is in the lows 30s.

..And Clarke easily smashes him for 4.

Yea. They have a shot of the whole ground and you can tell....the inner ring is nice and lush, but the outfield is quite thin.

are they using the new rules like the free hit
yes. That and the ball must be changed at 35 overs. The changed ball was selected before the match by each captain.

Hayden taking his time here.. looks like hes looking to bat whole inns.

Zaheer sends a ripper flying past clarkes bat!

pace and bounce!

2 more for clarke, zaheer straying on leg stick here

Hayden loves playing against india in ODIS.

18 inns 1 n.o 931 runs @ 54.76 - 3 (100) 4 (50)

In india

8 inns 413 runs @ 54.76 - 1 (100) 2 (50)

Have to say yuvrajs catch to dismiss gilly earlier on was awesome!

superman like!

Highest total on ground in odi is Aus 347/2 in 03/04 against india

Highest total chased on ground 248 by india against Aussies in 1989/90.

Hayden looking more and more attacking by the moment.

get another 4.

Australia
66-2
11.3 over

Aus 62/2 after 11 overs...

ganguly makes a good save!

and now a top edge for 6!!!!!

RP is NOT having a good spell here.

Hayden has picked his target.

RP seems to be struggle due to lack of bounce in track, he was very good in S.A!

India need to get hayden out asap as he plays spin very well and also is capable of batting thru the inns!

This track is NOT lacking bounce. There is PLENTY of that in this track. Zaheer was getting good bounce and Sreesanth was getting great bounce.

From a natural length that RP bowls he was able to get bounce in S.A and here hes bowling same length and it seems to be dying.

Zaheer and sree did indeed get some bounce early on...

games well balanced at moment,

74/2 after 13

feel like ages since clarke was on strike lol!
