Watson out going for quick runs

White and Haddin going for it this morning

Lead now 286

Australia should declare right now if they really want to win this one.

Mr spirit of cricket Kumble dropped Haddin first ball.

sporting declaration ... but will india provide a sporting chase or just play it safe ?

Ind ll go after taarget, Veeru need to fire to make match more interesteing.
need @3.6 in 83 overs or 3.64 in 82 overs

btw if they had played 5 more overs and put on quick 30-40 runs, that would have been gr8 for Aus

naaah .. ponting knows that if he gave too big of a total india would just go defensive .. with this total they might actually go for it.

For the love of God, Man Kind. Lee please please touch 153-155 km/hr and bend your back for this innings and the rest of the series. You will only be helping your team in the end and that is the only way you will create pressure on the Indian Batters on these flat tracks and yes work on some reverse swing as well. Take a leaf out of Johnson's book. Johnson just has to do what he did in the first innings. Lee and Johnson should be used in 3-5 over bursts.

Watson can perform an attacking and a defensive role depending on the situation. Stuart Clarke should just hold an end up. Michael Clarke needs to be given a consistent bowl, he is a very deceptive spinner and can break partnerships. White is not going to do much and he at best will only give his team mates a breather.

Apparently rain is on the way later, so Ponting had no choice. Draw is safe bet, Sehwag is Indias only real chance of winning.

He has given his bowlers enough time I guess. Indians cant win for sure going by their reputation. Worst case, they can always bowl negative. My feeling is that Australia will come pretty close to winning this one.

seems a bit too sporty, this is definately a good chance for the indians to win it. And by making this declaration, he's shown a lot of confidence in his untested bowling attack. Makes for an exciting final day!!!

No hope and they won't go for it. Kumble is captain remember?

Please keep me informed on Lee's speeds. I will not rest till he touches his potential speed. It breaks my heart to see a bowler who has the capability of bowling 90mph and early to mid 90 mph not doing so deliberately under the false delusion that he will apparently be more effective and threatening that way. I have news for you, dude this is not Australia, South Africa, England, New Zealand. This is the subcontinent where the pitch has no bounce, no swing, seam nothing. Only heart and soul and will power matters here nothing else and ofcourse REVERSE SWING.

India should maintain a runrate of 3.00 atleast. what happens is that if you go negative and out yourself in a no win situation, you will then have all 9 fielders breathing down your throat.

Rain is the only way we can save this match. I dont see the indian batsmen lasting 50 overs in these conditions.

0.4 Lee to Gambhir, no run, 132ks, going away wider and he leaves it be

can u imagine if shoaib was bowling at that speed .. people over here would be in an uproar !

Lee's second over (speed)

137.5 kph
132 kph
no speed shown
141.2 kph
142.3 kph
139.8 kph

haddin dropped the catch of Sehwag

Not real impressed with this blokes wicket keeping. Not much better than Dhoni who hasn't been great.

Has conceded more than 10 byes in an innings in every Test he has played so far.

Sehwag gone ... and we all know what happens after this !

sehwag gaya..its all australia now..India cannot...and whats good..clark bowling line and length

Sehwag was caught in the slips by Hayden. Good bowling by the opening pair.

patience mate. his first test in India. Give him a couple of test matches. He will get better. His basics of keeping are fine

Clark is looking brilliant..whats changed suddenly?

He is that sort of bowler, sometimes looks so ordinary and then sometimes looks unplayable

veeru gone crap

oh man

another 5th day loss?
Don't worry. Aussies don't have a spinner to do that. India can win this one.

And India are at their worst in the first Test of every series. After this, they are going to win easily (even though the 'seniors' are a drag on the team).

Well, there goes Indias chance of winning. I think draw is still favourite. Our best chance is if our best spinner since Grimmet, Michael John Clarke, bowls a 6'fer 9er.

Apparently awesome catch by Ponting.

No doubt he cheated

India wobbling, wobbling....

I think one out of Tends, Gangs, Laxs will come good today. I don't see a draw even now.

we couldnt survive 70 overs in sydney on a pitch that was very good for batting even for day 5! What makes you think India will survive on this pitch?

Still going to be tough taking 8 Indian wickets after this.

Yeah, fantastic reaction, was mid-air when he pouched it. To be fair he made it look easy and he's caught plenty tougher than that one.

Well they wont if they play to draw the match. Bhajji showed them how to play -- by attacking. Once you go after bowlers, everything falls into place. I am sure Gambhir will be positive, but I think Tends should go for his shots as well.

You see an Indian victory??
Well if Bhajji and Zaheer can thrash them to all parts in the first, why can't they --along with some top order batters -- do it again today? Aussies have a one dimensional attack (no spinner) so once they start getting hit for runs, its over for Poning.

dude, its the 4th innings....and Aus can start bowling negative, which they did not do earlier becaus ethey wanted wickets. Wiht your logic...these targets would have been easily chased down.

^^However all these maidens and one run overs wont help. In fairness though, Tends just came in. I hope he gets a hundred and wins this for India today (I think he will). All it takes is one ton and two half-centuries.

Yes, they are making it difficult for themselves by batting so slow. But the problem is that if you don't attck, you tend to be defensive (no middle way), and that is what is dangerous.
