actually only people missing are gilchrist and symonds from last year's team right?
and Hogg, I can't believe this but Hogg would have been better than White

And Jaques who is far better than Krapich, from the team that beat India last summer. So 4 out of 11 which is pretty big turnover.

But the 16 Test run started way before that, 2 of the wins were against India but the rest were 2007 and before (with Warne, McGrath etc).

Brett Lee getting belted again, onya Brett, love those starts you are making :pissed:

I predict a sexy knock from Dhoni as well. This is the type of situation he was built for. He's going to put the nail in the coffin (hopefully) on the Aussies with a lightning quick 50-60 runs.

The match has gone exactly as predicted so far. I expect Kumble to take wickets at a SR of 30 here.

The aussies best chance was for early wickets with the new ball ... but I guess thats gone now. And since White/Clarke/Krapich aren't going to get a bag of wickets, its almost certain India will declare on a score of around 600+.

Nah he's not captaining so he'll fall cheaply! :miandad

lol maybe. I know he was captaining he'd have sent himself next now, but since it's Kumble we migh see Ganguly as expected.

IMO they should have taken Kreja instead of S clark. I expect Clark to go wicketless in this match unless it is a giveaway by Indians.

I remember reading the insights of the Indian team after seconf test in Australia tour that Indians had figured out a game against Clarke and to my surprise he was impotent thereafter. The plan was simple. He got nothing. so dont give him wickets!

huh are u talking about stuart clark or michael clarke lol?

I don't think it really matters who comes in next. The Aussies just don't look like getting a wicket from anywhere. Johnson was probably the best bowler yesterday and he's bowling lollipops. And Lee still keeps getting carter all over the place. I think Bhaji, ZK, Amit and Kumble should come in next and up their averages against Australia!

The unthinkable has happened ... No not a wicket ...

White just bowled a maiden!!!

To be fair on Clark he is carrying an injury into this game and bowling of a shortened runup. Otherwise he's a decent test match bowler. Of course the reference the McGrath is a bit over the top. Kreja should really have come in in place of either Watson or White!

Man with FC bowling average of 50 is going to be the difference?

200 run partnership ... this could just about be the series defining partnership!

This is turning out to be a real one sided affair....

RIP Australian dominance..

Point is that to succeed in subcontinent conditions you either need to have the variety of Wasim, some extra ordinary pace, or you need to be a really good spinner. Unfortunately, for Aussies, their lineup does not have any one of these...

No-one is saying he would have been the difference. Unfortunately there isn't many other options in domestic cricket. It just would have been a more attacking option to go with a specialist spinner than a part-timer.

Still is a sad period for Australia. To think about 5 years ago, both Warne and McGill were both part of the bowling attack, and now they got White. Clarke and Katich on a turning Delhi wicket.

Yes the last time we were heavily beaten in India ushered in an era of Australian hopelessness....

lol What's all this about the Aussie Dominance demise?
They have always suffered in India. with all respects 2004 was an aberration and they had a much superior team.

Agreed! Their best chance was probably bringing someone like Tate along, but it was probably too soon.

If only the Aussies agreed to come to Pakistan this year!!! Would have been a great chance to beat them.

The idea here is that, I dont believe in S Clark. So who to replace him with? The pitch is a totally spinners wicket. Why not play an extra spinner?

If you think Kreza is that hopeless that you cant play him on this one, why bring him here, just as a substitute? Anyways, if thats the case, I would play Siddle.

But on this wicket, I would want to play atleast 2 spinners. May be Kreza could have come in for Watson?

Lee is one of the best in the business. He is having a bad series.Thats all.
when has Lee ever done well outside AUS?.. may be 1 or 2 tours in WI/NZ?

As much as the hype there is about the Indian pacers, Kumble has to win this one for us I believe.

Now coming to Australian batting, if I were Australia, I would play humbly. Katich and Hussey are your men for this match. Indians will have a hard time gettign them.

Ponting might do well to, no bajji to torment himm. Well Ishant will have to do then :)

At 381/3 negative bowling comes in to play. S Clark bowling at 25th stump outside off

100 to VVS ... was on 99 for a while ... but he's played really well ... continues his good record against Aus

yeah may be. Cant believe a spinner catching a toe injury in nets! Its pathetic to see that so many Indian bowlers have lately caught injuries in nets.

it all seems so easy now for IND

interestingly the pitch is helping the spinners but unfortunately for AUS they don't have one...

Come on, give us some contest! This is boring.

you got to be joking......watching the aussies in frustration is fun. Crush them i say:)

Its not fun or valor, hunting if the prey is defenseless or submissive.

We do not have 2 spinners. We do not even have one spinner.

3/393

*man overboard*

x2, I pray we get them by an innings this time! No remorse, who knows when we'll get to pile the hurtin on the "mighty" Aussies again?

And as always I fully expect them to fight back, never caught the Austrailians out, they have taught their opponents taht much.

In great news for Australia, the next team we play is.....New Zealand

if there ever was a chance to propel Shaun Tait's career then that is it.

Even their best teams have been poor players of raw pace bowling.

And if the Aussies lose that one ... well at least we still got rugby, swimming, football.

If we lose to New Zealand at home the entire team will be "retiring to play IPL"

3/399

Brett Lee concedes 6 runs off his first 3 balls, onya Brett you are a superstar

Oh yes of course ... I forgot FISHING!!!

why can't they bowl man? i just don't knwow when india will bowl the wickets fil FLLY and now there is a 250 ptship

Current partnership 248 runs, 66.0 overs, RR: 3.75 (Laxman 114, Gambhir 126)

India 409/3

australia wont won this mamtch so this one is for the indians so this cup has india won 2

Brett Lee gone for 8 off his next over.

Has done this all series, conceded loads of runs at the start of a session and given the advantange to India.

On the plus side it means I may have to sit through less Brett Lee advertisements this summer :)

gambhit approaching double.
He won't play the next match so he needs to score as much as possible.

I think Symonds would have made a huge difference to the sides.

Nope not in his current mindset.

Has been moping around the field for Queensland, not scoring runs and looking like he does not want to be there....

Psst Ponting maybe try Krapich again?

Edit - damn you Brett Lee smiling and shaking hands with some bloke who is pasting you to all parts and who said "they can't get me out" to the media overnight. You bowl pies all series when you are meant to be the spearhead phaast bowler and you want to be friends with team that insults Australia in the media, calls your team mates cheats and will spend the next 2 years talking trash about Australia to the media. %$&^% off and go play IPL with your Indian friends and we can get a proper phaast bowler :pissed:

what a knock by Gambhir. He has "arrived" so to speak.

70 and then 100 in the last match, now a double ton!

Maybe he wants to be in India ... or maybe fishing!

Seriously though I heard Tom Moody say yesterday that he thought it was a pretty harsh and extended punishment for going fishing instead of a meeting. I think they are missing him. His bowling would have given them another option and these wickets would suite his batting.

Ponting being taken to the cleaners ... give Katich a bowl ... he bowled alright yesterday!

There was lot more to it than missing a team meeting, there is an article somewhere which pretty much details all the things that have gone on with Symo and he is/was not in the right frame of mind to be playing cricket.

ahh well either way ... could have ... would have ... should have ... either way the Aussies are getting embarassed here!!! No one looks like getting a wicket!!!
