This is probably one of the weakest Sri Lankan teams fielded in a long time but yet its pretty obvious now that India are going to lose this first test. This is after being in such a commanding position from the beggining that most people thought India had this in the bag. So Indian fans how angry are you?

Lets wait for the result confirmation

If India get to 120 without losing any more wickets then game is still on in my book
 
Let the game end. Not angry really, it is just a game and these reversals are not unusual in cricket. But I would be furious with team selections - players like Rohit and Bhajji shouln't be playing in a test XI.
 
India's weak batting got exposed whatever the result would be. A batting which cant even survive in Asian conditions. India has been reduced to winning only at their home country. Outside of India they get owned.
 
A Rubbish team, and future is even bleak. I have lost all the hope in this team. And yes, this game is over, and this Indian team is done and dusted.

Yup, Pakistan are miles ahead of India in test cricket at the moment.

Thats not a recent phenomena by any means and is a weakness of most teams today :
 
India chose only five batsmen... One of them is a hack ( Rohit ) and one is very new ( Rahul )... So essentially India went with kohli, dhawan and Rahane.... You can't win tests like that....

Hopefully he will learn and change this tactic

We'll still be okay in ODI's and t20's but yes as far as test cricket is concerned I dont see nothing good coming out of this team.

Actually, i would correct this and say that as they got owned by English at their home too so they are not even good there. Their test team is pretty much in the same state as our ODI team. The only difference is that we are seeing a resurgence in the ODI team of ours.

that was a very strong English team and is now almost 3 years ago now.

Tbf they havent played at home for a while. The SA series will be very exciting. Looking forward to it

SA's test team is in downward spiral. When you draw tests with Bangladesh you know your team is in trouble.

Exactly. This would have been a big defeat for India (some 200 run win) had SL batsmen applied themselves. So many passengers in the team you don't win tests with that. Kohli was talking of aggression before the series but there was no aggression in selection policies nor while delivering under pressure.

Wouldnt look too much into the SA results for either India or SA. Draws for both were a function of majority of the test being washed out.

That doesnt mean both teams arent in trouble though

Lol, did you even follow the games ? In the 2nd test, there was only one day of play, four days were rained out. Yes, SA is slightly weaker due to Smith & Kallis retiring, but still a strong team.
 
Drop bhajji and add another batsman, maybe that would help. But what i have heard from indian posters, Bhajii is one of Kohli's friends.
 
India should only play at home..



If they continue playing away, soon we will be debating whether they even deserve test status..
 
I don't think indian fans who are used to seeing cheerleaders dancing in ipl matches will be angry even if sri lanka whitewashes them. This is not an important series. Aaya maza ipl ke deewano? Ab aayi samajh ke tullaybaazo se test nahi khela jata. Choosing Rohit and dhawan in a test match is the biggest joke.
 
To be honest, we played well this test and 1 session of streaky brilliance from Chandimal took the match away. Chasing in the 4th innings was always going to be tough on this pitch.

Exactly. Teams like SA which is number one in tests should be demolishing teams like Bangla from day one.

One session from Chandimal and then the whole of India's 2nd innings so far
 
At the moment Pakistan team is settled and looks better than both sri lanka and india. But things might change after misbah and younis retires.

Chandimal was fantastic. He has came from a long way to being ousted from the t20 WC. I never liked him and he has impressed.

Also, third umpire tried his level best to find some way to give this not out. :))

Even though we were inept, due credit to Herath.. Awesome bowling. First time India faced him in tests!

They were, but they were recovering. They could have ended up as the winning side. As I said, they aren't as strong as they were 2 yrs ago, but they're still a very good team.

Most of the indian eleven in this test were experienced seasoned players. I cant see where this team in transition phenomenon comes from. If there is a team in transition, it is Sri lanka.

I didnt say that they are a bad team. Thats why i used the word 'downward spiral'.

Yes you are right, these 2 are our best Test players. But we have some good young players who can fill their spots
 
Cricket is such an unpredictable game.

The team that couldn't defend 370+ in the previous match is celebrating its victory after posting a target of 176 in the very next match.

Exactly. :misbah Bhajji performed well in IPL and got selected for the test team. :kakmal

India fans now know what it has been for Sri Lanka in the last couple of years. Getting into a winning position then choking is really familiar for SL, though at least this time they're on the opposite end.

They do, the BBL interrupts the Shield and forces FC games into dead, exhausted pitches in late summer.
 
Am on a visit to pak and No Pakistani channel was showing the match....ended up watching it online and i must say it was worth watching it.

Still 170 was no big deal. India did not approach the chase well, how can you score at 2rpo and expect to win a match easily? When the test team is made up of hacks like Rohit and Dhawan, what more can you expect?

The fact that Pakistani team is a better test team than India which you are refusing to believe. Keeping one's head in the sand doesnt changes the fact. Well, i would prefer Vijay over both.

Dhoni was at the helm when we lost to England.

You can't use this result to big up Dhoni who was a garbage captain in tests.

By the way, it was Pujara and Vijay who won us 4-0 against Aus (dhoni and srt performed in 1st test - that's it). Even then all the rest didn't do much.

Phattu batting we have now without them (even with them its not world class). No captain could have saved it.

However Kohli deserves this loss for selecting Rohit qand Bhajji/

Painful to be honest ofcourse the anger is there as well but extremely painful.Will probably remember this test as it happened on our Independence day as well but its cricket and congratulations to Sri Lankan team and Sanga.
