Indian Kashmiri wins MCC photo of the year

So Majeed bhai enjoys photography and is a freelance photographer. One of the misguided youths who was led astray into normalcy and betrayed the brethren by not pelting stones. Kashmiri's making India Proud :hasan

If you read his twitter feed, you will soon see where his loyalties lie.

Look, I get that some people sometimes want to show some sort of story that acts as evidence for a particular point of view. But with Kashmir, it is clear the overwhelming majority of people do not want to be a part of the Indian state, however much you may not like it.

And unlike a lot of people, I do not see any possible way the status quo will change. So instead of trying to paint a false narrative for the benefit of posters on a cricket forum, I suggest you and your fellow Indians start to think of a way to build bridges with a population that in 70 years you have only managed to alienate. After all, it was not so long ago that Pakistan feared the outcome of a referendum. Now its a no contest.

Beautiful fall colors. Reminds me of my trip to Smoky Mountains in South Carolina.

Leave politics

Just admire picture and appreciate the artist's work

No unfortunately I did not grow up with him but I'm sure being your best friend and all , you'd know him a lot more. But hey, feel free to share his views

My only problem is the assertion that "majority" of people ? Majority is being implied because of what reasons ? Have you conducted a poll ? Have some figures been reported ? If you are going by random article, hear say and social media posts to base an argument upon then it's flawed.

Listen, I do not want to make this thread any more political than it is. There has been clear instructions not to.

However...if India truly believed that the 'majority' does not want independence, they would have already conducted a promised referendum. Unlike in the past, Pakistan is now amenable. If India were to show any readyness to actually conduct a referendum as per the UN conditions, Pakistan would reluctantly adhere to them and remove the army out for a referendum to take place - such is the confidence that they have in achieving the result they want.

Even then, the above is just if's and but's. Look at the situation in Kashmir over the last 30 years. Go to Srinagar and speak to a Kashmiri. Hell, go to Delhi, or for that matter go to any Kashmiri pashmina/handicrafts dukaan in your nearest big city. There is no silent majority who are content with Indian rule. The people are quite vocally making themselves heard.

Again, I am a realist. I see no way the status quo will change. Build bridges with them, rather than delude yourself that all is hunky dory. Would be nice to see a little less bloodshed in the world.

Because you keep bringing the referendum , I'll ask have you read the UN resolution ? Has Pakistan fulfilled it's condition that it needs to fulfill prior to referendum to be initiated ? Read those conditions

And the above bold statements are without merit at all. sitting in some part of the world you are making statements about the local sentiment in a country ? that's just pure mud slinging and emotional talk rather than logic

Looks like a painting more then a picture.

I think it is taken during evening time in autumn season. This sight is quite common in Kashmir in places which have many chinar trees close to each other. I would try to click some later this year and post them on PP Insha Allah. I dont have a dslr so it wont be as good as this pic though :))
