I am a bit excited, just to know the domestic players in Pakistan. And to know their potential like Shaheen, Sahibzada, Tallat, Hammad, Irshad, Irfan and Saif.

I am sure there will be decent number of followers of psl from India. And it will grow with time.

Also we have heard games were competitive.

Let's see how it looks like.

I'm one here too. But why is the game start so late 10.30 pm ? It's awkward timing for Pakistanis too. Hopefully it's not delayed further due to the ceremony like previous years

Whose bright idea was it to start the match at 10pm PST

That will decrease viewership in both Pakistan and India.

Exactly! that too one a weekday

Probably the mentality is that the whole family will sit down to watch the match after dinner, but then again most people in Pak have dinner at 8-9pm. :danish

Only first match starts at 10:30 pm IST
Other matchs start at 1st match of day at 5:30 pm IST and 2nd one at 9:30 pm IST

Here they are starting IPL matches at 7.30pm instead of 8pm this year. You have geniuses in pcb.

No offence but since as an Indian fan I barely register the IPL- just watch the final, I doubt I'll be following this closely. Of course there will be the novelty value of watching Pakistani players face off, but realistically, it won't last a match or two.

In short I'll watch the finals, just like the IPL.

I doubt I'm the typical fan though, I think a lot of Indians will watch this.

We Kashmiris are prolly gonna watch it most, I don't watch any t20 leagues so could give it a try. As long as no :akmal is on top of the the charts :D

Only the first match is starting this late because of the pointless opening the ceremony.

The rest of the matches will start earlier.

I have just finished my exam and I am free now really happy that D sports is showing. Will follow it closely inshaallah.

Watching live opening cermony on dsports (Jio Tv app) loving it....
By the way when will match start today

I'm really excited to Watch first time PSL on TV. Thanks D sports for broadcasting it. Being Pakistan side fan since my childhood it's really refreshing to see international players with local pak talents. My favourite side which is having Macclum & My favourite Umar Akmal . All the best to all the sires

Indians watching on Dsports, its not a High definition channel but the clarity is amazing.

Isnt 7:30 pm too early?

IIRC that idea was dropped by BCCI/IPL after MI opposed change of match timings. Change of time request came from Star India,. Which means, evening match to overlap with night match.

Thankfully, stupidity avoided!

IPL will have same timings as last time, no change.

Reaction would be like I imagine, Pakistanis reacting to some Bihari opening up a nihari shop in Pakistan.

Sure Pakistanis would love nihari, but they've got plenty of local options, and frankly better ones. :amir3

Hi to all indian fellows.
What are your thoughts about psl.
First impression?

Didnt watch much, just one or two overs while MS were chasing a target. Overall quality seems fine on Willow Tv but no HD available.

I would have thought they'd ban the PSL from being broadcast in India.

Did not get the watch the game here in Australia. I don't think there is any live telecast except for the web though cricketgateway.

Because anything that has “ Pakistan” is ban in india? At least that’s the impression you get when you if you follow Indian media.

Not that i recall. Lot of bans are self imposed. For instance banned on celebs working in movies are imposed by Film industry and not by Govt, similarly ‘Ban’ on Pakistan player is also carried out by Franchise owners not wanting to risk their investment rather than IPL body or Govt. Indian media is known for sensationalising news and at times create news than present facts. I would not trust Indian media much

They are not.

The proposal was rejected by franchises because overlap between two matches was considered unacceptable. It would alienate hardcore fans and viewers. Nothing broken about starting at 8. Except for very young children nothing tough about match lasting til mid-night.

I'm guessing Pakistanis might at least sample 'Bihari Nihari' out of curiosity or novelty value.

And really the analogy is quite flawed. We like cricket, and since IPL isn't on it's not a competition for attention. Good appetizer for IPL. My second favourite league after IPL.

Quality was good, indeed very good but whenever it showed side-on replay it looked pathetic as if it was PTV sports broadcasting it.
Great that they have ultra-edge this time around, a goodish 1st match with Irfan and Sammy best performers for me.

Quality on Prime TV was just ‘OK’. But when I watched a bit on cricketgateway.com, that was very good.

lol which young child sleeps at 8 anyway

Getting it broadcast in India is the key for certain individuals to make lots of money. They will make sure that it can be done.

As if the ban is carried out by the film industry or IPL owners willingly. Karan Johar was hounded with Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, forced to grovel and apologise. You have to be blind to see that there no government pressure.

With the IPL - many people have short memories, but this goes back to the PCB trying to be clever when the IPL was held in South Africa due to security in India not being guaranteed because of elections (again this was political, but lets not get into that). BCCI have not forgotten what the PCB did, and have denied the PCB a revenue source by not handing out the contracts. People on here always seem to forget that the PCB messed up there.

Blaming on BCCI for the actions of PCB isnt smart. If they had waited for security clearance before pulling NoCS would've avoided the situation. BCCI have not said out in open that Pakistan players arent welcome, but the franchise owners have to consider the risk such as PCB cancelling NOCs, GoI refusing visas, public sentiments etc.

Regarding bollywood, they refused to cast Pakistani celebs cause of public outrage.

You should know majorty Indian public may not want Pakistani celebs or players which is the driving force for the policies in place

What did PCB do back then?

What did PCB do back then?
PCB back then withhold the NOCs as they had players security concerns. But later the IPL was moved to SA and Pakistan players safety were no longer a concerned, however IPL and owners have then already replaced the Pakistani playere with other foreign players. So basically, PCB tried blackmailing BCCI but it was pretty bad move and till date no Pakistani player have ever been elected to play IPL.

Reality checks don't matter. Only "BCCI is evil" narrative holds sway here - not for all, but majority.

This is the first match of psl I am watching now. When I tuned in, I thought it was an IPL match going on. They have just copied the team kits of KKR and Delhi daredevils. White cheerleaders who don't know how to dance uniterestingly doing bhangra, strategic time out of 3 minutes. Organisers could have put little effort in innovation.

Just had a glance of PSL. Is it me or is there no speed gun? They have DRS items and surely they would have thought of speed gun.

Man, I almost forgot about it.

I don't expect a lot of Indians to take interest in the PSL just like most Pakistanis don't take interest in the IPL. However, if both leagues had players from the other country then the situation would have been different. I personally only tuned in, in the first season of the IPL and do not even know who won the league in the last few seasons or how many times they have won it etc etc.

HD feed on tata sky? Nopes. Its not HD feed but clarity is as good.

I think DSports is HD . It just does not have HD in its name. I have set all my channels to original size. Because of that non HD channels have smaller screen area while HD channels take full space of screen. And DSports is taking full space.

does the drone drop the ball in IPL as well? white cheerleaders? have you even watched the match? These are brown bhangra boys..:ashwin:asif

I was talking about the girls. Don't know whether they were doing bhangra. Just saw them lazily move their hands.

problem in psl is UAE pitches and
lack of crowd.
psl must be played in pakistan even if we get to watch only fatichar players

Yes Karachi Kings copied Delhi daredevils because no other team in the history of sports has used a blue kit LOL

And there's no cheerleaders so did you even watch?

There is

It doesn't show speed of every ball for some reason

Don't be so defensive. I found the colors of red and blue the exact replica of the kit DD used to have and stated it. Considering that Queta's kit had similarities to KKR, my thinking wasn't far fetched.

I watched one over when Nawaz was hitting and the score was 90/6, and the tv screen showed three or four white girls moving their hands. They seemed like cheerleaders to me. As MRSN mention above, they were invited by QG team.

there are no cheerleaders is correct

So you telling me Indian's are hypocrites? I agree! They cover Pak shows and Cricket when it is beneficial for them.

On top of this i noticed that the cricketers playing in PSL are humans and guess what, the cricketers in IPL were humans as well. So clearly PSL was copying IPL on that front as well.

Also PSL has both P and L in their name which is another form of copying IPL.
