Hoping KL will smash RCB trundlers (Siraj/Southee/Woakes etc).

RCB like aways has too many class batsmen and a pop gun bowling attack.
 
Ashwin vs Kohli. Should be a good battle. RCB look to be more balanced this season. I would replace Sarfraz with Negi. Sarfraz hasn't performed for a while and doesn't seem to be in good form.

Pubjab looked well balanced also. Think Ashwin will do well as captain. He is a thinking cricketer and I have seen out smart Williamson and ABD when bowling. Shown plenty of cricketing intelligence over the years. Finch should come in and that will strength their batting. Nair should bat at 3 and Yuvraj nerds to perform. He could be a weakness.

Hoping for a good game. Think RCB will have too much for Punjab today. But expecting a close game.
 
Hope Punjab 11 beats the hell out of this RCB team which is lead by a dumb captain. Punjab 11 is my third fav team. My man Ashwin is the captain. Go Kings!

Stupid team selection again by Kohli. Baz is decent for chinnaswamy wicket but he ain't someone who will single handedly win you games. Going with 5 bowlers here especially if pitches are back to their usual is suicide.

Should have gotten Atherton instead of Hussain, Hussain is a pompous bore.

Maybe but Nasser has 2 unique things, you listen to his voice and look at his smug face and you just want to punch him. Never feel that about any other comm, likes of Siva, manju are boring while shastri was smug and arrogant. Hussain is the only one who fits both.
 
Rahul seems to be highly motivated for the first time in his career! In the past he used to falter when challenges were offered (like when Rohit was long injured, that's the time when he could have wiped him out as an opener like how Dhawan wiped out Gambhir!) Looks to be performing well when Kohli is in the opposite team (Should target MI & RCB teams which have his detractors!)
 
Happy for yadav.He is a wholehearted bowler. Good performance under kohli can give him ticket for 2019 worldcup.
 
KL and Umesh doing well today ....Happy for both, this season is most crucial for their WC prospects :19:

Agree... Don't mind KL playing well vs RCB , as long as it improves our local boys LOI comeback !
 
It's a shame that Rahul with all of this talent can't cement an ODI spot at 4.

What an horrible selection playing Siraj over unesh in Indian t20 team. Somebody needs to slap the selector who asked for Siraj inclusion in the team.
 
It might not be a popular opinion but Karin Nair needs to be given longer rope in test cricket, both in India and away.
 
This is the biggest problem in franchise leagues - this guy KL Rahul has learned, played entire career in that stadium. If I were a resident of Bangalore, not sure if I am to cheer for KL's batting or his dismissal.

That sounds like a good idea but Rohit has averaged 50 at 90 Sr in the last few years. He won't be moved. Technically Rahul is more capable of handling the new ball but Rohit is set there for now until atleast 2019 wc

Only because he doesn't fit anywhere else. Rahul is easily better then Iyer or Pandey or Rahane.

This is the first IPL without Dravid's involvement either as a coach or player. Till last year it was simple, I supported whichever team Dravid was associated with. This year I am confused about which team to support.

My loyalties are up for sale. Any buyers? ;-)

When Rohit was scoring consistently he used to eat up lots of balls during PP.l, then he up his ante after scoring 50 to make up for those lost opportunities. These days he is conscious to score quickly in PP and get out more often in single digits or less than 20s.
 
I think, Chahal got man handled few times (which is quite common in T20 for any one), and he has started bowling faster. This isn't going to work much - he isn't Kumble like accurate; at that pace he might run through sides in odd days, but most times he'll be ineffective : 1/34 - which is nothing contribution in T20 for a No. 10/11 and average fielder.

He should back his variation and spinning ability to pick wickets, rather than try to be safe - his National & IPL Captain is same guy, so he should be more relaxed.
 
KL giving kholee a live demonstration. Kholee will still keep picking Manish and other assorted rubbish.

Because India doesn't score as many 330+ scores as Eng. After top 3, it's a issue not only with chasing but also in setting targets as u saw in SA. PP target is atleast 70 in 10 overs these days and 80 in the last 10. The middle 30 overs should fetch 180. That gives u the 330. Rohit is not consistent at all but he won't be moved.
 
Just got confirmation - it's Roma. We'll play against 11 now.

More to do with B'lore wicket and the boundary size. He's been ripping it in other games

He needs to work on that issue.

But 47(30) is better than 29(27) by Manish Pandey or 20(20) from the great match winner MSD.

More like 25(30) and that too when chasing 200. You got to give credit where it is due.

Agree. He is much better than the rest. But, I think he needs bigger scores in this IPL to cement his spot for the Eng LOI series. He seems to be in good form too
 
Punjab need a big knock from Stonis. Can't see them defending 170 against this line up.
 
Rahul and Karun- Just shows the difference between top level players and these two. Premeditated shots as Haydos said and gave away the advantage.

And Kohli will be chasing today. Its all set for him.
 
It's good for IPL - top 3 city teams 0 points after 2 games, RCB should make it 2 points today. I guess, whole IPL best XI playing for DD won't change their fortune much .....
 
Sundar really looks harmless with his offspin.

Don't know why no one can hit him easily. He is a traditional offie and nothing special. Yet batsmen have no clue.
 
Looks like a full house for the RCB home opener. I think among the best supported teams in the league.

He doesn't have many variations but is a smart bowler.
 
Kings XI can go run a ball and score close to 160. That shud be the approach
