KKR have had a mixed bag this season and would love to win and get amongst the crowded table at the top. For DD though they need to win all their games from now to have a chance to make it to the play-offs. With a new captain it will be quite a challenge for them to turn this around. Looks like another disappointing season for them.

Cannot understand what DD were thinking when they made the inexperienced Shreyas Iyer the captain. They should have given the captaincy to a more experienced player like Chris Morris or Liam Plunkett.

3 out of 8 IPL teams are lead by tamilians. wow. Good to see that. Unfortunately not even a tamilian in CSK 11.

Shaw is 1 year away from being a regular in Indian team. He has great talent. Needs to curb the instinct to hit the ball in the air.

Mavi is ready for Indian National team. Consistently clocks over 140k and can easily bowl over 145k.

Shaw looks a great talent. He seems to be more naturally gifted than gill

Shaw reminds me of Sachin. So much talent in such a little body. Not easy to hit Mitch johnson like that. He is only 18.

Gill is more of a Kohli type player.

Its incredible how India churns out so much batting talent.

Gill needs to prove that he is no less than Shaw. Unfortunately he comes in at 6 down. Very hard to play an inning like Shaw is playing currently. Hope Gill is promoted up the order.

Gill is more like Dravid. Don’t think he would do that well up the order in T20.

Stupid KKR management can learn from DD and shift Gill up in batting order like Shaw

50 for Shaw. A bit slow innings, but he is showing he belongs to the top level.

Poor bowling by mavi. Cannot bowl length in the final over to a set batsman even if you are bowling at 145k's.

Shreyas as a captain played one of the best innings of IPL 2018. 93 of 40 balls is just so ducking incredible. Mavi Trundler couldn't handle the pressure.

Mavi is a trundler?

He did not handle pressure well. But calling him a trundler shows you are not watching the match.

I think there is a confusion in the word 'Trundler'. I believe it is meant for a bowler who is not atleast brisk ( 130 ods speed) . Here if somebody goes for runs , he is mentioned as a trundler even if he bowls quick. I think those should be named spray guns. And Mavi today was one.

Iyer played a blinder. Not sure if this is pure luck or pure class. I have seen him bat many times before and he was avergae.

Which means you haven't seen him bat that much. He usually plays these kinds of innings time and again, even in tests. He should be at 5 for India following Rahul at 4.

When did he played tests? If you mean FC then yes he plays at high SR.

In the opportunities he got with Indian national team, he was not very impressive. He played some flash shots, but looked average.

Today whatever he was slogging was falling just over boundary ropes. A slightly bigger ground would have had him out several times.

I saw Iyer in SA. TBH looked like an FTB and totally out of depth. I'm more impressed with Prithvi Shaw. That 6 of Mitch reminded me of Saeed Anwar

He was dropped once too.

So far, it is clear that Rahul needs to be in the WC 2019 squad.

The likes of Pant, Shaw means that the senior squad players will be under pressure to perform as the replacements are available.

Rahul beats Iyer handsdown but Rahul is a flop in middle order. If only he could adapt

Off Mavi's bowling. Reapply poor fielding. On another occasion the ball went just over the fielder. A taller fielder would have had him.

This was a good knock by Iyer, but I need to see him some more before judging him.

Could you pinpoint which Senior will be under pressure. Not even Kedhar. Everyone is having a safety of Govt job.

Kolkata need two set batsmen in the middle between overs 7 - 15 , they will need some really big overs 15 plus ones to be able to chase this.

I would take Rahul a head of Rohit as an opener. Rohit is a hit or miss player and consistency is not his Forte. Often Rohit takes too much time before he finds his groove and attacks bowlers.

Rohit needs to play in middle order.

TBF he scored runs in A colours at SA in the final.

Rahul is yet to master scoring big runs. And Rohit can do that.

In real world , they should be feeling it. But this is Kohli & Friends team.

I agree. Rohit’s time is up. Too many failures.

213 is not a safe total.

Boundary is 62 meters according to Hayden :)) No wonder Iyer was hitting sixes for fun.

Lynn is a failure in IPL so far. Never looked comfortable against pace or spin.

Rohit averages 50 with 90 SR in the last few years. He won't be dropped. Rahul has been a "miss" player so far in LOIs.

I would not say he is done. But he is not suitable to open anymore. He is a big time LBW candidate against good swing bowlers like Amir, Boult etc. The inswinging delivery is his weakness. Even if he survives that, he takes too much time to get going and then throws it away when he reaches 30. But when he is in the zone, no one gets close to him.

I doubt Kohli will drop Rohit from opening spot.

That’s right. He can’t play as an opener anymore. We all know about dumb captain. Noth8n* will happen.
