KKR is taking on CSK in a very important clash for the hosts. KKR have 8 points and are currently 4th on the table with RR, RCB and DD breathing down their neck with 6 points. A loss here would mean that the other teams would feel they have a very good chance of getting to that number 4 spot.
 
KKR need to win to increase the gap between them and the teams below. They have been inconsistent so safe. They should be really disappointed that they didn't beat DD in their last game.

Hoping my boys CSK wrap qualification asap. Had a good tournament so far.
 
CSK is the luckiest team in this IPL. Amazing the number of edges flying to the boundary from their opening batsmen. Hardly anything from the middle of the bat, they are already 9 an over.
 
A lot of stupid fans in India. It’s really frustrating to see people still supporting this overrated arrogant over the hill cricketer who is holding the WK spot in the Indian team and not allowing youngster to take that position for that past year or so. :facepalm:

MSD has played well this IPL season. We have to give credit where it is due. Probably felt the heat from critics about the emergence of youngsters like Pant/Kishan/Samson/Rahul as alternatives.

To be honest, Pant has outplayed MSD this IPL. But Pant sometimes looks like a total legside hack. But he is a super aggressive batsman and has proved that he can hit big 50's in T20's when he is set.

Its tough to choose between MSD and Pant/Samson after this IPL season. MSD will get the nod due to his experience.

Honestly, questions have to be asked about the position of Pandey, Jadhav etc. These guys are non-performers. We can see that Rahul, Pant/Samson deserve a spot ahead of Pandey and Jadhav.

This is the only IPL season, I have seen him playing well in the 5 seasons or so. This is his best for the long time. Still Pant has outperformed him. I still doubt he would carry this form in to international cricket, then to WC next year. This is the time, we need to bring in Pant. I want karthik to be the main WK and Pant his back up.
 
Dhoni has too much faith in Jadejas batting. Hardly produces any impactful knocks but he's always sent up the order.

Your comparing the batsman, not their main skill, ie wicket keeping..

Poor. I agree. WK skills in LOIs, especially in T20 would not make too much difference. That’s why we had someone like Dravid for several games still won comfortably. Poor keeping in LOIs would not hurt as badly as it would in test cricket. Both Karthik and Pant are good enough to play just as a batsman in the team, you can’t say the same about Dhoni.

Go cry over MI losing the tournament already while I relish my popcorn time watching IPL progress to next stages with better teams and performances.

T20 I agree. but odis (& tests) you need a proper keeper..

His SR in t20Is is less than the much maligned Babar Azam, even more surprising as Dhoni's job is of a late order hitter :O
 
I have watched only a few matches of the IPL this year, but these young Indian batsmen look phenomenal. Yesterday I watched Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, and Rishabh Pant. Today it is Shubman Gill.

It hurts me to say this, but the gap between Indian and Pakistani batsman continues to widen. It is spectacular to watch though.

Young Indian talent that we have seen so far in this year's IPL is already better than Previous two year's of IPL season combined.

I couldn't be any happier:)

Unfortunately they all have to slog few more years in domestic because of the dumb captain, ******* coach and arrogant over the hill wicket keeper.

Correction DK is making a case for WK batsman in Indian ODI lineup. I would not pick him just as a batsman over Raidu, Rahul, Rohit, iyer, Pant, Suryakumar, Samson and Raina.

Overall his aura as a good captain has increased because of IPL, look at his test match record outside Ind. Used to lose so many test's and then a good IPL showing would mask all his fallacies, it repeated between 2011-2015 :facepalm:

No. Kohli isn't going to let Dhoni go until WC 2019. DK can be a finisher instead of Jadav. I believe these are the spots

Kohli may be India's captain. But Kohli's captain is Dhoni. He still seeks advice from him.

His Young Henchman - Kohli

His father - Shastri

Only difference is Aravind Swamy s character had a brilliant mind and was performing also.

Ofcourse he is not going to let him go before the WC. That’s one of the reasons why I feel he is dumb as a captain.

If I had an option to pick one batsman between pure batsman , all rounder and WK batsman, I would just pick pure batsmen unless the WK / all rounder is supremely talented with the bat. Here option is between DK and Raina. I would pick Raina here. Simple.

DK with bat and age comparatively better package than Dhoni IMO. That’s why I want him in place of Dhoni.

This should be the potential Eleven for WC 2019. Backups can be Pant, Iyer, Shami/Chahal

Above line up has enough batting power and bowling is also very good.

Immediately after WC, Shaw and Gill needs to be inducted into the national team. These 2 are going to be future stars.
 
^ Forgot to include MSD in the lineup. Have to drop a hitter like Raina just to include MSD.

Arvind Swamy was selfish and bad boy as well. Brilliance and Bad Attitude, not a good combination at all. That’s what hurting Indian team.

Lol. I knew you did it intentionally.:) would you lose Raina for Dhoni. Karthik can very much keep the wickets and play like a regular batsman.

Fine with your logic but after Kohli there is no experience if not for Dhoni. DK will fit right in after WC. Dhoni can't chase 300s any more but will be instrumental in mowing down 250+ scores and can guide the rest.

That’s really annoying. Dhoni is not a great tactician at all. I can talk about horrible mistakes that Dhoni made in today’s game right from team selection to bowling change. Only good thing about his captaincy is not showing emotions which comes naturally to him. More like Sunil Narine.

10 to 15 games prior to WC is good enough experience, that’s why I want selectors to bring in those young batsmen into the squad right after this IPL. They will have good enough experience before WC. Raina has experience. DK as a wicket keeper batsman has experience too.
 
Top 4 are way ahead of bottom 4. Doesn't look good for RCB now.
