There's some bad news to report: it's been raining in Chennai and the toss, which was scheduled for 7.30 pm, hasn't happened as yet. The good news, though, is that the rain has stopped for the moment.

Bangalore are already out of contention for the semi-finals, having lost nine out of 11 games. They're playing for pride, or as Siddarth Ravindran said in his preview, to avoid the wooden spoon. Chennai, on the other hand, are third in the league and a win today will almost certainly secure a spot in the final four
 
After Mumbai's loss today, if Chennai and Delhi keep losing..... there may be still an outside chance for Kolkata to sneek in but they'll have to beat Delhi and Punjab - both the top teams in the league.

Kolkata absolutely no hope for them. They played chennai already twice. Lost both matches.

What are the chance of that???? So basically, Kolkata has statistical chance but not realistic chance. SA fans can start to mourn! :P

In all honesty, I wanted Kolkata to advance since it has FOUR Pak players! :(

GOne-Swaaaaaaami - another huge appeal for caught behind and Goswami's walked! The umpire shook his head and turned the appeal down but the batsmen decided to go. Gony pitched short of a length and angled the ball across the left-hander's off stump, Goswami tried to drive on the up but only managed an edge through to Parthiv

Dravid and Kohli both playing the sheet anchor roles and look to be planning to bat till stumps.
 
drama - brilliantly caught but Morkel's hurt himself, Kohli pulls the ball high in the air towards deep midwicket, Morkel initially mis-judges the catch and comes forward before he begins to back-pedal to try and get into position, he jumps backwards to take the catch and he's in mid-air as he takes it, he falls awkwardly on one knee and then hits his head on the ground as he falls backwards, he's managed to stay within the boundary by a foot so it's a fantastic effort

Morkel's gone off the field for the moment. OH WELL :))

Such ordinary players put pressure on their partners...if Misbah had been batting with a better batsman, he wouldn't have been dismissed so early

Who are you calling a fool? Misbah? You can hardly blame him when batting like Dravid. Dravid's Test batting puts pressure on his partners
 
dravid messed up big time again

how can u elect to bat when u have steyn in ur bowling and its a wet pitch

well built so will generate more speed

Stats are pretty ordinary though

Don't get me wrong, looks an alright bowler, but you gotta take wickets at the end of the day

E.g. Tanvir averaging about 10 for the tournament

Gony's stats aren't special

Not consistently 140k, more like 135k.
He has good bounce but not much movement in the air.

Well done Mizbi. I checked the cricinfo commentary and he surely had a huge area of ground covered. Batsman avoided the region as I see no mention of His name in it
 
12.6 Vinay Kumar to Fleming, 1 no ball, bowled him! Fleming backs away towards leg stump and tries to hit a full ball across the line towards the leg side, he misses and Vinaykumar hits the leg stump which gets uprooted and proceeds to smack Boucher on the knee just above the pad, Fleming's out but Boucher's down on the ground in some pain, whoops, Fleming's got a very lucky break, the umpire spotted that there were only three men in the circle and called a no-ball, Fleming stays and it's all very dramatic, did I mention that Fleming's bat flew out of his hand after the shot?

this might be the most annoying and disgusting scenario for a bowler. he bowls a perfect delivery and shattered the stumps but due to captain's or some fielder's stupidity he denied the wicket!!
 
Beast does it. A win is the next best thing after a Draw. Raina was distracted by the BEAST's fangs who was fielding at Silly mid off so Raina just took a single to get over the nonstriker end.
 
wow!! My team finally showed that patience will pay off one day. We sit at six points. :)
 
had other so called T20 specialists supported dravid we wud have won a few more games .... well done dravid & Kumble ..well done bangalore ...we will surely do better next season !
