New Zealand team has injury worries, can Ireland pull of another surprise?
Weather unlikely to be a problem.

Ireland squad

WTS Porterfield*, AC Botha, JP Bray, P Connell, AR Cusack, DT Johnston, WK McCallan, JF Mooney, KJ O'Brien, NJ O'Brien†, WB Rankin, PR Stirling, RM West, AR White, GC Wilson†

New Zealand squad

DL Vettori*, NT Broom, IG Butler, BJ Diamanti, JEC Franklin, MJ Guptill, BB McCullum†, NL McCullum, PD McGlashan, KD Mills, IE O'Brien, JDP Oram, JD Ryder, SB Styris, LRPL Taylor

Ireland win would be the better result for us here.

The weather forecast is good for Sri Lankan and New Zealand match but not so clever for the Ireland game so from that point of view maybe not.

I believe Jesse Ryder has been removed from the squad. Big blow for them.

Ryder remained in a London hospital for tests on ongoing muscle pain rather than travelling with his team-mates to Trent Bridge for their Super Eights clash with Ireland on Thursday.

As a result, Otago batsman Aaron Redmond, who toured England last year with the Kiwis, has now come into the squad to replace the big-hitting opener for the rest of the tournament

NZ struggling with injuries and ireland have their main batsman back in niall o brien

connell is bowling very wide of the off stump and thus getting smashed! he's lucky to only give away 14 in the end...

redmond delvering from the word go. Showing the selectors why he should of been in the squad initially. 0-32 after 2 overs. Redmond on 30 after 10 balls with NO sixes. Great Stuff

Very exciting batting

Hope ireland get around 150-160 otherwise NZ will get a decent net run rate

This isnt great for us at the moment in the sense that if NZ, Pak and SL end up with 2 wins each then itll come down to net RR so it would help if ire just reel them in just a little bit for us.

Huge score very important in terms of NRR.

Can we put up 200 vs Ireland ?

To be honest I don't think it will matter in the end. I don't think New Zealand will be able to cope with our or SL's spin twins.

Expect the same if not worse against Sri Lanka, they really know how to smash the minnows.

Kiwis looking for a bumper win here so they can get points and good net run rate!

Brenden Mccullum seems to be the most atheletic fielder (if not the best) at the moment.. And he was just a WK all these days.

newzeland won by 83 runs,
so if pak beats srilanka , and get a win agaist ireland,
they can go to quarterfinal..

We have to batter the Irish to get a good NRR incase it comes down to that.

I thought NZ would be a threat, but half their team is injured. No Taylor. No Vettori. No Ryder. Game is there for the taking.

Semi-finals is a very realistic possibility.

Indeed Pakistan will have to batter Ireland. The two games v Kiwis/Sri Lanka will be very tough and from what ive seen of pakistan so far in tourney they will have raise their all round game big time!

Thats the best fielding performance Ive seen in the T20 to date - England were good v Pak, but NZ took it to another level.

not if SL wins against Ireland and NZ.
Pakistan has to be careful with NRR. Score as much as possible against all teams and as fast as they can (when chasing) and at sametime win atleast 2.
