He has charisma and confidence. Hasn't been involved in any major controversy. He is open minded and progressive. Seems like a genuinely nice person. Also a talented musician (wasn't a fan of his music at first but I've started liking it recently. Reminds me a bit of Kishore). Good sense of humour. Every interview I've seen of him makes me think he is what other Pakistani celebs should aspire to be like. Is he the Tom Cruise or SRK of Pakistan? Obv everyone is different and the same is true for celebrities but he projects himself excellently.

Surely goodlooking man like many other pakistanis :)

yess..i personally like him.educated.level headed,charismatic...he is almost there..psl has given him more fame if i am not wrong or u say he has given psl more to enjoy...

He's cool I guess. Only thing I'd say is he's a bit of a pretty boy/pappoo, try-hard type. But aside from that, there isn't much to dislike.

Much better than the likes of Humayun Saeed, Fakhir and Faisal Qureshi.

He is indeed very talented guy.... Good singer, good actor , good painter, smart as well.

Had the honor to emcee alongside him at an August 14th banquet / concert last year near Mississauga. Really down to earth guy. His brother is talented as well.

What's wrong with those 3 in particular? :13:

Humayun and Faisal in particular will go down as Pak drama legends.

I don't want to insult another human being, but have to say that they are quite fake people.

He shouldn't have chased Bollywood. His movie choices there were cringeworthy and harmed his image quite a bit I think.

Most actors would choose Bollywood over our trashy film industry. Even though Bollywood is awful these days as well.

I believe and don't quote me on this but SRK once said that he would rather be a king in Bollywood rather than a servant in Hollywood. I think Pakistani actors would benefit from a similar mindset.

No he is not! I much prefer the patriotic Shaan Shahid who has rejected Bollywood many times. Shaan, unlike Zafar is not a sell out crying on TV of how much love he has received in India. Well, that love for you has ended for Zafar after "Total Sayappa" and some other performances. Shaan Shahid is Lollywood's main man.

Shaan comes off as slightly bitter that his films are flopping right now.

That's true but normal at the same time. Any actor would be upset to see his movies not doing well at the box office. Regardless, he's a patriot not a sellout like Ali Zafar.

It's a fine line the issue of actors going across the border.

Obviously, they have families to feed and are trying to get a bigger paycheck which is what anyone of us would do.

Well India's real face has been shown to Zafar now, they don't want him anymore. Many Pak artists like Shaan Shahid and Reema Khan have refused Indian money. If they can do it then so can Zafar. You don't make movies with a country you are in a cold war with.

I understand your point but these are rare cases.

Omar Sharif made love to Barbara Streisand on screen in "Funny Girl!" when Egypt was at war with Israel.

Rare cases?? No Pakistanis are working in Bollywood anymore I believe. This will benefit our developing industry as well. I have no problem in Pak actors working in Hollywood our other foreign movies at all. We have been at war with India for 70 years. Never mind the relationship between Arab's and Israel, that's not our problem.

You are right. Only in third world countries you will find people with this type of thinking. Mixing art and sports with politics is just a small example.

Atif Aslam anyone?

Mahira, Saba Qamar, Adnan(Actor), Atif, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Javed Sheikh currently. In the past Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab, Somi Ali, Mohsin Khan (LOL) the list is pretty long. Not to mention all those artists, singers from Pakistan who became an inspiration for music composers like Pritam, Nadeem Shravan and Pritam. :inti

You have to understand PAK's negative image worldwide.

Just as I'm typing this, my MGMT professor stating that moving a foreign business from IND where it is not welcomed by Indians to a country nearby like PAK is worse. Because all they do is, "blow up buildings there". And he is a well-educated, easy-going, Jamaican business man.

We do not need to ostracize any of PAK's industries anymore.

Pritam isn't inspired, he's a copycat along with that Anu Malik fellow. Hearing Sikdim in Dhoom was a real shock :O

Tell him moving into a black neighborhood would be worse than moving to a white neighborhood. Give him the stats once he gets angry :19:

What you are saying has nothing to do with thee subject at hand. The point remains that Pak actors should not work in a country we are constantly at war with. Your Jamaican business man's view is not a revelation that you are so excited about it.

What I’m saying and the purpose of that post was to show how the rest of the word views Pakistan.

And it’s not in a good light.

If Pakistani actors stop working with India, it further creates a bad image of Pakistanis overall.

PakLFC nothing wrong with working in movies in India as I have said many time. You can't blame an actor for shooting to work in a better film industry. That does not make him a sellout. But this is a timely bump because of the sexual harrasment accusations which are much more important than where he chooses to act.

He is a sellout for working for an enemy country. Everything is wrong in working for an enemy country. There is nothing wrong in working abroad if your own country is at peace with them. It is not as if he's a great actor that you are all supporting him like crazy. I would never work for an Indian company even if they offered me incredible money. In fact I have rejected some offers from them. No, never!

So we should work in India to improve our image. Well, you can go and work there but don't tell Pakistan lovers like me to do that. The west will continue to target Pakistan as it is the only Muslim nuke power, that is the real reason. Until Pak obeys American dictations don't expect any positive press no matter what.

I know; I agree with you but it’s not a reality.

The least we as Pakistanis can do is not to portray a jingoistic approach to foreign affairs.

Really like the way he talks. Seems like he has always kept his circle of friends/mates clean.

I don't follow or care about any Pakistani celebrity, or ANY celebrity for that matter, however I like this guy's songs and he seems to be a decent fellow from the little glimpses I have seen here and there.

Though not sure what came out of the rape case.
