While there are loads of stats of player performances up till now there was no real way of measuring how good an umpire was because there are no real statistics which keep track of there correct/ incorrect decisions.
however now with the introduction of the DRS i fell we will be able to bring about stats for umpires.
the stat used could be % of overturned decision out of the total decisions reviewed.
by this way we will be able to differentiate the good umpires from the bad ones and possibly if the ICC could introduce a system in which the lowly ranked umpires would be relegated from the elite panel we would no longer have to see the likes of daryll harper and asoka de silva
i am not very good with stats but if someone has the time and is interested could they come up with such stats so far for the world cup..will be interesting to see.
