I mean you look at recent odi and t20 series vs england they are playing 3 spinners they know these english batsmen cant play spin so its 30 overs of spin bowling england just crumble and they have selected 4 spinners in champions trophy as well looking at pak who only selected a one spinner like australia we will find out in ct who got this formula right.

India can play three spinners , because they have spinners who bat like pure batsmen - Washington , Jadeja and Axar.

Even Pandya is a full batsman.

Pakistan already will go with three specialist fast bowlers and Abrar , so they cannot afford another proper spinner.

You should call 2 of them as al rounders. Not just spinners. If they didn't know how to bat they would not have been part of the squad.

Other teams don't have the luxury of such bowlers who can even bat in top 6. If shadab and nawaz didnt turn out this way we could have played both at 7 and 8

Washington for india is what hafeez was for pakistan.

Sadly Pakistan did not bother to develop Qasim Akram. They bog him down to no.6 or 7.

Playing 3 spinners and 3 pacers should be the norm for any team. Infact most teams have been succesful when they adopted this template excluding aus and eng.

Pakistan's most succesful years from.
.a bowling perspective post 2000 were when we had the ajmal, Afridi and Hafeez trio cause this trio was mixed with junaid, Wahab and irfan.

They put all their eggs in Shadab's basket. Even sidelined Nawaz forever. When Shadab was playing they never gave chance to anybody else.

Don't think it is any tactical masterstroke.

White ball cricket is shifting towards a large array of multiskilled players and long batting lineups. Australia, India, NZ and England have decided that hard striking and depth are non negotiable for the kind of cricket they want to play and are lining up accordingly. They all have their tradeoffs though.
Aus tradeoff batting ability for bits and pieces allrounders
England have depth and power but all their pacers are same-y
India have spin allrounders but sacrifice pace cutting edge

No Indian management is extremely myopic and quite dumb
If they were smart Rohit and kohli would have been sacked long time ago in odi and tests

3 spinners in a team is a good choice on UAE pitches. That could work
