Following the sudden resignation of Gary Kirsten, Jason Gillespie's recent appointment as Pakistan's white-ball head coach has raised eyebrows and sparked debate about whether the former Australian fast bowler is walking into a potential minefield given the PCB's recent history of short-lived coaching tenures, demanding expectations, and potential interference.

With a tough Australia tour coming up soon, and everyone expecting quick results from what's only a temporary position, people are wondering if Gillespie can really succeed.

The pressure of immediate results, combined with the uncertainties of an interim role, raises questions about the true motivations behind this decision and whether the expectations are realistically achievable.

Is this a good opportunity for him, or is he being set up to fail? Let's talk about what challenges he'll face and if he has what it takes to overcome them.

Mohsin gave a clear message that Jason Gillespie agreed only to oversee the white-ball series against Australia. For the Zimbabwe series, we will have a new white-ball coach. Jason Gillespie seems disappointed about being removed from selection matters, which could be concerning for Pakistan cricket fans. If he resigns, our instability woes will continue.

My personal opinion is PCB must have common coach accross format to maintain consistency in approach & communication. 2 coaches doesn't offer anything. PCB must try to sign Gilispie for all formats

Let's be real does anybody really care that much about a random bilateral white ball series like this?

I'll be watching the games and hope Pakistan win but I see it more as a development opportunity than anything else.

It's a great opportunity for Gillespie too. A success here and we may see him an undisputed all format coach.

100% he is being set up by PCB to fail.. they have already got rid of Kirsten.. now they want to get rid of Gillespie too, to satisfy some ppl in PCB.. like Aqib.. SA test tour is far away.. so they set up a trap for him to fail so that they can get rid of him easily, by making him a dummy coach, and then expect results from him which no one else has been able to achieve, that is win in Australia

Also I think Aqib also doesnt want to get into coaching our team straight away, as it will be too bad a PR for him.. he wants few months time, I think.. Also definitely he wouldnt want a tour to Australia as his first assignment or a test tour to SA..

I think Aqib would want to become coach from West Indies tour to Pak.. so all things are being done to clear path for him..and for Gillespie to be removed by then ..

Based on what i have read online via social media reports from sports reporters, the players have given positive feedback about Gillespie to the PCB and feel comfortable with him. Kirsten was not able to gel with the squad in the same way. Maybe the PCB might entice Gillespie by increasing his remuneration and asking him to become the all format coach.

I don't think having the same coach for all formats is ideal, especially if the coach is foreign. Language barriers can cause misunderstandings—for instance, Gillespie might advise Babar to stay at the crease and grind in Test cricket, but Babar might end up applying that same approach in T20s.

Saqlain Mushtaq will take over as Pakistan color kit coach.

Saqlain is ready to work within his limited scope of forced selections or whatever , because as coach he himself is not much into Data's and Analysis. There are only 2 points to kill.

Hold the Flag up

They should not be appointing coaches who watched over and allowed the decline of fitness.

Just wait for Pakistan to be badly thrashed in Australia and Gillespie will be under the hammer.
If pcb drops Gillespie for that. Then their morons.

As much as I hate rizzu, Pakistan has been historically poor in Australia. Ijaz Ahmed in tests was the only exception.

Even prime batters like Saeed Anwar/ Inzi, etc etc have been useless in Australia.

No way pak is winning this.

Sharjeel Khan is another exception thanks to the 2017 series but if I mention his name the knives will be out
