Coaches are there to train players and help them eliminate flaws in their technique. But from the past few months, Pakistan team has been running without a spin coach. In contrast, our PACE FACTORY has been blessed with the luxury of finest and prominent fast bowling coaches in the same epoch. The downfall of Pakistan pacers is there for everyone to behold but in comparison the spin department has witnessed a renewed life with the induction of top domestic spin performers like Noman Ali and Sajid Khan in the 2nd and 3rd Test against England in the ongoing series.

So the big question is whether Pakistan cricket team is better off with a high profile spin coach or we need them anyway despite current easy sailing?

Successful teams typically don't have a dedicated spin bowling coach. Instead, they have a single bowling coach. But they may hire a consultant on an as-needed basis for specific series.

You should. Look at Zahid, completely short on confidence. Needs some help. Shan could have given him some more bowling g against tail enders last match and even today brought him only when batsmen set and attacking.

Yep I think we need to hire Graem Swann..as Pakistan coaches have failed to reproduce desired results in the past. Even Adil Rashid is capable to be their spin department boss.

A spin bowling coach is a must. It’s taken Sajid 4 years to be the bowler he is. Think about all the other bowlers that have fallen by the wayside. Obviously we are now learning it’s due to awful pitches but still a coach would have helped enormously. (And the LUMS biomechanics to check their actions)

Dedicated spin coach
Dedicated pace coach

Is is a common practice in international teams?

One general bowling coach is enough. Spin bowling coach is not required in my opinion. Waste of money.

Asian countries shouldn't require national spin coaches just like SENA countries shouldn't require national pace bowling coaches.

true....really don’t understand the trend of hiring a coach for every department. Are these players playing cricket for the first time that they need so much coaching?
