i certainly believe so. otherwise you go to anyother forum and all you will find is abuses personal or religious. But here in pakpassion we can debate without getting personal or offending others most of the times. And there are many other positives about this sites as well.
Pakpassion has to be the best forum i have seen.

Mods do a fantastic job of staying neutral on most occasions. The best cricketing site I have seen.

No foul language, no personal insults.. The best site out there.

PP is permanently opened on my mobile. One of the sites I visit first thing in the morning while brushing teeth especially on match days.

All thanks to the mods and the wonderful job they do day in and day out.

Good moderation is the key and you get it here.

The problem is Indian posters do not criticise their country and always look for excuses while Pak posters are criticical and rightly so.

Na we wud love to criticize our own country but the thing is we always have to defend our country first from yours negative points about us most of the times, you bring and we dnt have enough time left to criticize our own one.
you wont see much indian posters opening thread about problems in pakistan .
But yeah forum is indeed very good. it has people living all over the world.

Good point. We are not afraid to criticise when we sit fit, very few if any Indians are ever do the same. Its as if they always take the party line.

I think Indians consider it being deshdrohich if they criticize their own country

Maybe because Indians don't really view their country as negatively as Pakistanis view their's :srt

PP has a solid collection of articulate Indian posters.

BUT KKWC is right.

Some topics give rise to unnecessary defensiveness. No country is perfect and recognizing its flaws should be okay.

So Indians dont see the murder and brutalization as normal in Kashmir, or the horrendous poverty as something that is the norm. Or The shift to right as ok? Maybe they do.

I think Indians only have to defend their country because of the imbalance created by critical posts on Pakistan. This isn't necessarily the Indian members fault, because Pakistani forums always have a number of highly motivated Pakistani posters critical of their own country, whether home based or ex-pats. Then when Indians join in the criticism ( they can't really help themselves) you get a disproportionate number of posts attacking Pakistan and the religion.

This in turn leads to scrutiny about India as that would then be the yardstick for the same region with a different ideology. All very healthy if moderated fairly.

Yes, I agree.
While a certain bias is still there against Indian poster. Its not that much.
From personal experience bias was bit high from 2010-2012 , but after that core PP team had change of heart regarding this and then PP became wonderful place to read India vs Pakistan threads. As long as Saj's and MIG 's passion for this forum remains high , this forum will be a great read to a guy like me. They are the heart and brain of this forum.

Kashmir? Yeah you won't find many Kashmir sympathizers among Indians, the only problem in Kashmir that me and most Indians see is pakistan's support to terrorist and militants, this has been discussed millions of times so let's not stretch this point.

Poverty? The state in which India was left in at the time of independence by the British, it is no surprise there is so wide spread poverty. This level of poverty can't end overnight, do you expect a magic solution to end all poverty? I've seen the rising numbers of the Indian middle class over the last 20 years. The standard of living has tremendously improved for millions of Indians and it is continuing to improve, so we know we are on the right track.

Shift to the right? Lol India is democracy (a real, successful democracy). The Indians have selected the government you see at the center, most Indians are happy with the government and the pm we picked, sure there will crticisms regarding different policies of the government but we don't cry and whine about our government and PM like the pakistanis do, we are happy with our govt at the moment and if we feel this government isn't working then we can always change it in the next election.

Most Indians do view their country positively and most of us do feel we are headed in the right direction and most importantly, to answer your main question as to why Indians don't crticise their country is because the real topics of criticnsms about India are not posted here. Most topics here are driven by the Pakistani perspective on India and like I said before , most Indians don't agree with the Pakistani perspective

Great work from the mods (don't include myself in that as time is short these days.)

Things can get heated but the mods do a fantastic job.

Also the posters we have are superb, some very intelligent guys here.

Definitely amongst the best. Changed my perspective on Pakistanis and British Pakistanis

Minus cricket, where I dont believe that mods stay neutral, Pakpassion is a really good place for even general discussion related to this region. Sometimes its as intellectual as reddit or 4chan. Its good to see so many posters staying neutral over topics which we cant event speak about in our lives.

True, I went to an Indian cricket forum and abusive language against Pakistan and Muslims(which is sad considering there are so many Muslims there) was the norm. Even the cricket sections is filled with abusive nonsense against Pakistan and its players. Dont think I have ever seen that in any cricketing forum ever.

Compare to that, Pakpassion is amazing and very well managed.

Definitely a better forum, but I have had to face insults here. Sometimes I wonder if people talk like that in their real life?

I doubt they'd have the courage to speak to a 6'3, 200 pounds athlete let alone insult. CC, you're too big to take this to heart.

Absolutely, this has to be the best South Asian forum out there. The moderation is simply unbeatable. A big thank you to the mods.

I think that all the slugfests apart, this forum has actually resulted in a lot of Indians and Pakistanis developing a genuine sense of respect for each other. This will go a long way in establishing people-to-people contacts, something both our politicians have been miserable at doing.

Long live PakPassion!
