According to sources, in the recent fitness test carried out by Pakistan players, Sarfraz scored 18.2 in comparison to Malik who scored 17.8. I find this unbelievable, as Malik is the fittest out of the Pakistan players. Whilst, Sarfraz Ahmed’s need to lose weight has been highlighted by media.

I was quite suprised but very good. Oh and Hasan Ali was the fittest with around 20 odd

According to the reports, Professor sahab didn't take the fitness test due to a personal reason and will take it separately and Imad Wasim failed the test. He will also take another test.

Seems to have sorted his fitness out. Next step is to perform consistently with bat and gloves.

This is just simply not true.

People need to realize that looks aren't everything. Some guys look slightly overweight but actually havd good fitness, the same is true the other way around.

Looks don't matter. I trust the Yoyo test score more than people looking at Sarfraz and saying he's unfit. It doesn't measure speed, which is what we judge on, but endurance

I assume the yoyo test is more accurate than the "look test"

Sarfraz scored 18.2? That's incredible. Good job on captain.

Sarfraz was quick between the wickets years ago when he wasn't fat. His whole game was based around singles. Think people have forgotten that. Why it's even more of a shame someone who has the potential to be supremely fit for a period of time was unfit. Must have let himself go a lot.

Was noticing he was a bit fitter of late watching him in games though, so not surprised he's higher, but by that much I didn't expect.

Malik is in fantastic shape and Sarfraz isn't. But hopefully the fitness test shows that Sarfraz is trying to fix that issue. Regarding Malik, I suppose one can always have an off day ;-)

Sarfraz isnt the fittest around but he gets unfair criticism too.

He is the captain, wicket keeper, batsman and hasnt missed a match for last year and a half and has played all formats including tour matches. Must have more than an ok fitness.

I listened to Sanga quite a lot in recent times and he always mentioned what a thankless and hard job wicket keeping is. Plus Sarfraz is a captain of a team like Pakistan where you have to take into account other things too, its not like Aus , SA, NZ etc.. It will be quite draining for him.

I really dont think what he is doing is easy as some other posters think. Well done Sarfraz!

Some people no matter how much they train and how much they control their diet can never look the 'part.'

While others can have terrible dietary habits and only exercise occasionally but they look muscular

Never figured that one out but I guess Sarfaraz falls in the former category.

One of my friends eats the unhealthiest food, drinks tons of beer and rarely exercises during the winter months.

However then he starts to exercise from end of spring and by summer is totally ripped. On the other hand I know people who have been exercising for years and while they look decent and fit they achieve nowhere near the aesthetic standards which the other guy does in barely a month
