Is the 8-0 ODIs/T20Is whitewash over Sri Lanka the perfect revenge for the Test series whitewash?

I must say it feels very good now. The first test Pakistan could easily have won had they not messed up in the final innings and giving easy runs to the last wicket pair. The second test we were outplayed for sure.

The biggest lesson Sarfaraz and Mickey Arthur need to learn is that it is time to incorporate the ODI and T-20 approach to the test side in terms of the batting mentality and philosophy, you can only have one Azhar Ali and one Asad Shafiq as opener and no 3 or no 4 but the rest of the batsmen must be aggressive.

And please for the love of god, play 5 bowlers, reduce the pressure on Yasir Shah and play two spinners in the UAE. Think of giving Imad Wasim a go if you want extra batting and someone who can bowl 20 plus overs every innings. Think about giving the likes of Fahim Ashraf and Aamir Yamin a go in test matches outside the Sub continent.

On this platform, for this series, Yes.

For any other team, No.

With PAK winning this it will be 2-1 on the overall series count. If it was another team, "Test cricket is the best cricket" formula would have been applied.

While the LOI whitewash feels good but the Test series loss still leaves a bitter taste in the mouth.

Its not that big a deal, our test team is finding its way. Pakistan finished the series very strong and the Lankans had absolutely no clue what to do. The team which ends the series stronger is the one which is very happy.

We did not need any revenge for the test whitewash.

Pak could have easily won the first test if they had selected a 2nd spinner.

In the LOI segment, they have manhandled SL. Won more convincingly than India.

But considering the streak is broken and Pakistan got whitewashed to Lanka has got to sting.

Pakistan should have at least drawn
the test series as Rashid Latif said no one remember ODI / T20 wins or losses
But srilanka white washing pakistan at home

Doesn't change much, was still a poor performance in tests and some management errors. Test matches were more important.

I am not that much dissapointed on test defeats. It was a young team and they will get better.
More than the defeats I am dissapointed by management (Sarfraz, Mickey, Azhar Mehmood etc) for their team selection.. Read an article that Azhar was the one who said the 2 spinners are not ready which led us not to play a second spinner. They should have learned from 1st test match. Also Usman was a must!

I know it is hard to digest but a bilateral tour which includes Test, ODI & now T20s is basically a TEST tour with ODIs and T20s thrown in for the boards financial gains. These shorter format series are mostly forgotten or are somewhat meaningless. Whenever someone looks back at a cricket tour what he will look into is the results of the Test matches.

Every teams looks forward to win even the ODIs and T20 series but if u ask anyone which he is desperate to win it will always be the Tests.
Overall, on a scale of 10, I will give Sri Lanka 6 and Pakistan 4.

It is if you consider it a revenge of the test whitewash.

When we beat Sri Lanka in the next Test series...than call it a revenge.

Test cricket will be remembered , nothing satisfying more than winning a Test Match. It is real cricket that counts most.

Treat every series differently is what I would say. But test series loss of Pakistan was sort of a record so it overshadows the two LOI series.
