Mainly consisting of players who lost their contracts this year but still want to play and earn plus the current main XIs oldies who dont deserve to play in the main XI and the U21 Cricketers who played in U19 leagues but then vanished from the system but still want to play cricket.

Surely this will provide welfare along with the development of younger players , The playing XI shall consist of 5 Older players and 6 U21 players and the top performers getting in to 2nd XI and then Main XI.

Like this idea?

This will reduce the avg age in the main XI as well without sacrificing the older players pay check.

Can we demote some "seniors" down from first and second XIs to the third division? The kind who are around more on name-brand and past-record than performances or chances of future international selection? Make more room for younger talent to come through.

That is the plan without hampering them financially. They gave their entire life to cricket

The objective of domestic cricket is to provide a competitive cricket environment and to ensure able back up and replacements for players in the national side, not to be a welfare charity, if a player is not good enough to be selected in the Pakistan national side or the Domestic teams, he should find something else to do.

You can have fifteen division in domestic cricket and have Australia level competitiveness but if chief selector selects has-beens or never-weres like Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal, Muhammad Irfan etc then we will continue floundering.

I can't remember the last time I was this disinterested in Pakistan cricket.

Exactly!!! I was about to say the same thing.
Rather PCB should allow 4 teams alltogether in whole domestic set up.

Misbah under 60, Misbah under 50, Misbah under 45 and Misbah under 35 squad.

You can't blame the selectors if these players are the best available in domestic cricket and to be fair these players have performed in domestic cricket and international cricket.

There is value in having a pyramid structure. But that structure would be useless unless we clean up the current one. 6 Teams as currently setup is better than the previous system but it isn't the right system. As a result, a lot of good players aren't getting the type of cricket development they need to get better.

For someone who is disinterested in Pakistan cricket, you seem to be showing a lot of concern for what happens with the PCB!

An elite system will only permit the best to play. If a poor player has elite world class talent, he will make it in this age of social media and television networks.

It will serve no purpose. Pakistan cricket would be better of paying all these players without the job a golden handshake than this, if their well being is the purpose. Though organizations downsize around the globe pretty often and obviously employees do get unemployed by that.
