Shadab Khan speaking after the game

I am really pleased with my fifty but Hasan Ali also played an excellent innings today who gave me a lot of confidence as well

My aim was to play out all the 50 overs so that would help our team

I practice a lot in the nets so that seems to have helped me today

It was very tough for us to bowl after the rain-break

We had a chance but the NZ team did well to win here

We also made some mistakes but hopefully we will fix those issues in the next 3 games

Good excuse for this match!!! Try to find excuses for next 6 games

Again blanket statements like "It was very tough for us to bowl after the rain-break" and "We also made some mistakes but hopefully we will fix those issues in the next 3 games".

I would love it if he expanded a little bit on why it was tough to bowl after the rain-break and not before it? The same statement of rectifying mistakes I've been hearing since 25 years.

We allowed Kiwis to chase 80 odd runs in just 9 overs. It has nothing to do with the bowling. This just shows how pathetic our batting was on this flat road with tiny boundaries.

Post rain, they were holding the ball and walking over field like it was burning hot. Sick from ICC to let the game happen in such conditions. Even Guptill was losing bat's grip at times.

Poor kid has to answer the media, and all the experienced world class players are getting ready to win the 3rd match.

Did bat really well, and also bowled as much as he can.

But.... That's the seniority and friendship culture.

rubbish team rubbish players sack them all..time to get the blind cricket team to play for us..

It's quite obvious. At 60-2, one more wicket and we would have moved ahead, but it started raining and they needed 85 off 11 at the resumption which with all those wickets was easy

Vintage Pakistan for y'all.

It was expected actually- never bat first at Nelson. And today it started under overcast sky with rain threats. It’s indeed dificult to bowl with s wet ball on a 60 metre ground for a leggi. Besides kid bowled with a 8 overs old ball.

I wish someone from management would explain why PAK batted first with 4 men pace attack?

Shouldn't Sarfraz be saying this instead of Shadab?

Whatever happened today, I would like to applaud Hasan and Shadab for their amazing batting showing our top order how to bat and getting us to somewhat of a total from a disastrous situation.

The rain has contributed to our poor performances, I feel. Hoping that the rest of the series is not plagued by bad weather.

Shadab batting has been a positive in this series. Seems like someone who is a thinking cricketer and also he is very composed. He is very talanted of course but it's his mentality and match awareness which has impressed me. I think once he is cemented in the team, he will make a very good captain.

Fakhar, Shadab and Hasan are the only ones actually playing out there. The rest are just to make up the numbers.

Excuse! He helped save team from shameful loss where the pathetic batting MAlik, Azam and Hafeez had left.
If Shadab did'nt play out the overs, Pakistan would've been 140 all out. deserves to come up the order.
Really proud of our young lot Fahim, Hassan and Shadab have a better more positive mindset then our 'experienced seniors'.
