'I've seen no improvement in KPK': CJP laments water woes, pathetic state of hospitals

BTW, just for record: I'm strongly against judges making such statements that undermine governments, leaders or their performance. I do not approve of these remarks.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Thursday ordered Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to appear before the court and explain the provincial government's failure to provide clean drinking water to citizens and the steps taken by it to dispose of sewage and industrial waste.
Who the hell does he think he is? Chief Justice has absolutely no authority under the law or constitution to summon a chief minister and ask him about those things. This is a blatant abuse of power.

I thought he was working with PTI according to nooras and patwaris? So what happened to SC and CJ working with establishment to support PTI and make them win elections?

On topic good to see CJ finally coming to KP after taking class of other 3 CMs in their provinces we needed this check and balance when politicians and accountability are not working and giving space than obviously someone will have to jump in and fill that space because state is greater than this fake jamhurayt. It's the failure of politicians and CJ is not at fault here.

Well done CJ take Khattak to the cleaners too just like you did with Shobaz and Murad Ali Shah

AS long as its genuine-Good on the CJP for fighting for the common man. Let the PTI make even greater improvements.

Imran Khan speaking to the press said that it's good that the CJ is pointing out this stuff as it will help the KPK govt to improve.

He also asked the CJ to compare KPK's progress with other provinces and to ask the common man on the street if the situation has improved.

Now that's leadership. Not afraid of being held accountable.

Nothing wrong with that as long as it's within his remit and ensures the peoples basic needs are met.

But its not "within his remit" though. This is not how systems and institutions are supposed to work. A Judge has no authority to demand reports on governance. This is activist judiciary on illegal steriods, x100.

I know being seen as "cracking the whip" is popular, but it is more effective in the long run to have proper systems in place, instead of creating an environment where dabang heroes straighten things out.

Even if you have good intentions, and want to see improvements in governance - this judge's primary duty is to the rule of law. And his actions are ripping apart the fabric of law.

Actually for those who are too ignorant to know, as per our constitution, the CJP is the only guy who can summon all chief ministers, PM and even ISI and Army chief to get answers on matters of national interest.

Also wasn't OP the same guy who said that SC is working on establishment agenda when they were summoning Nooras.... but now they have summoned PTI chief minister so all of a sudden he is a good guy? If hypocrisy had a face...........

I say well done to the CJP, if the Supreme Court keeps the pressure on all the politicians the end beneficiary will be the people of Pakistan.

This is the thing, it will keep crooked politicians on their toes. Well done CJP!
