So who do you think the top sides will be signing during the coming transfer window? As a Liverpool fan we need a defender if Sakho leaves and possibly a forward as well to replace Mane during his absence. Sturridge with his injury record can not be trusted. I don't think Julian Draxler who has been heavily linked will be joining. We need a few Football emoticons like Klopp, that is the next phase of enhancement for this website:yk2

Nothing major will happen. Don't see Liverpool doing any major business, klopp isn't a chequebook manager.

Business will be usual and typical for City, spend another £50m on an average defender.

Looks like United have decided against pursuing Benfica's Victor Lindelof. Surprising, as their defence could use a bit of strengthening.

No, our defence is fine. Rojo and Jones are playing well atm and we have enough cover for centre backs in Bailey, Blind and Smalling

January is not a good time to go shopping as selling club's vastly over value and over price their players. May be bit's and pieces will be signed by all club's, I don't see any big deals being made.

These are the biggest stories I could find:

Manchester United are interested in Nelson Semedo. He's a 23 year old RB from Benfica and he would be a direct replacement for Antonio Valencia, who is 31.

According to BBC Sport, Manchester United will not bid for Lindelof due to the form of Rojo and Jones.

Chelsea have had a bid of £21m rejected for Frank Kessie, a 20 year old midfielder from Atalanta. He's scored 6 goals this season and can almost be described as a younger Kante. Atalanta value him for around £34m.

Inter Milan are keen on signing Lucas Leiva on loan, to bolster the squad.

Liverpool are interested in Quincy Promes, as a replacement for Mane when he leaves for the African Cup Of Nations. The 24 year old winger has a release clause, reported to be around £20m.

Carlos Tevez has agreed to join Shanghai Shenhua. BBC and Sky are reporting two different stories though, with BBC saying a £40m bid has been accepted and Tevez will earn £310,000 a week, while Sky are saying a £9m bid has been accepted and he will earn £610,000 a week.

Roma are interested in young Chelsea winger Charly Musonda, on a loan deal, to replace Mohammed Salah who will be at the African Cup Of Nations.

Everton are interested in 3 players, Morgan Schneiderlin, Memphis Depay and youngster Ademola Lookman.

Liverpool should have sold Lucas Leiva and kept Joe Allen. We're also being linked with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain as well. Would love for that deal to go through although I greatly doubt it after how we treated Arsenal over Luis Suarez.

Klopp has rubbished those claims. See below:

Klopp: "Usually I don't say anything about transfer rumours, but I can make an exception," "This is nonsense."

Looks like Depay is headed for Lyon. Guess he was unable to impress :mou.

I think he's a very good player, wasn't given enough time to develop at Manchester United, they can't just expect a 21 year old to be the next Ronaldo because he scored 20 goals in the Eredivisie. In the Europa League he played quite well when he consistently started and was given the freedom to play his game, not the boring football LVG played in the Premier League.

Fair point, but it won't be the first time a youngster has gotten the short end of the stick under Jose. :uak

Agree with this. Also lvg wanted his wingers to stay out wide and hold there position.

Yeah I didn't really understand what LVG was trying to do, he is a class manager but at Man Utd he lost the plot.

That's true, he'll be hoping it doesn't come back to haunt him this time.

He was trying to play a possession based game, which wasn't very entertaining and wasn't going to work . He wanted his players to stay in there shape and formation. Didn't want players beating there man. He played a role in Di Maria flopping

Not many deals being done due to prices asked for being to high. I knew Coutinho and Sturridge will be going nowhere.

Depay's gone to Lyon, Schneiderlin's gone to Everton, Livermore to West Brom, Cleverly to Watford, Berahino is close to completing a move to Stoke, Deulofeu's gone to AC Milan, Narsingh's moved to Swansea, Oscar's gone to china and more. Klopp isn't really a manager who's always active in the transfer market, he mainly buys a few key players in the summer and keeps it at that.

You don't have to be a genius to know that's not going to work in the Premier League, you have to be more unpredictable and free flowing to score goals.

West Ham complete the signing of Jose Fonte from Southampton.

Stoke City have signed Saido Berahino from West Brom for £12m.

We need more then a few. He should look for some bargains this month as our team is still relatively weak compared to other top ones. I get the feeling that like Wenger he is also a penny pincher.

Goodbye, Memphis 'better than sanchez' Depay, only if Mourinho and LvG had as much faith in your abilities as PetroDollars.

Sorry PetroDollars, but I have to rub this one in....... :salute

Exactly I think these days managers like Klopp and Wenger need to realise that you can't penny pinch in today's market with all the inflation.

Finally Berahino has been sold, sick of him dominating the headlines in the last few transfer windows when he's hardly played for west brom.

It's nothing to do with penny pinching. Klopp and Wenger prefer to develop players. Klopp has never been a cheque book manager. If klopp rates a player he will pay the money. Same as Wenger.

Sometimes you have to spend big for the sake of the team. Everyone knows our defence is crap yet Klopp refuses to address it by buying a big name defender to sort it out this month! We can't afford to wait until he develops some of his own that could take years. Today's defeat to Swansea has again proved this.

There is no one of quality who is available so he won't buy anyone I think. His mistake was not signing in the summer.

Lol "you can't afford to wait", wel your going to have to get use to klopps philosophy because he would rather develop someone.

He has to look around for quality defenders, there is money available if he wants it. Having spent heavily on the likes of Mane it makes me think he may listen to what the fans want. I like his philosophy of attacking Football but he must also think of the defence as well.

Which defender you want him to sign? The top centre backs won't come to Liverpool, so developing a young CB maybe Liverpools best hope.

He spent big on mane because he fits his philosophy so he will overspend on those players.

Impressed with Everton's signings so far.

Why won't the top centre backs come to Liverpool? They will if we pay them what they want and match the transfer fee. It's Jurgen's not my job to find the correct players but there must be many bargains out there who are not household names. Virgin Van Dijk comes to mind for one.

You are deluded if you think the likes of boeting, Ramos, Thiago Silva, Bonucci, Chellini would be interested in joining Liverpool.

Van dijik isn't a bad shout, he will cost a lot though.

Because not having won the league means Liverpool aren't really a big club that's a household name. Liverpool aren't mega rich either like United, City, Chelsea so they can't probably afford one of the top centre backs anyway. And Liverpool city is a terrible place.

Money talks. Show them the cash and deals can be done. I agree that at this point we have to be realistic which is why Van despite his price would be a possibility. We have to win the league or at least be in the Champions League to sign the real top stars of world Football.

We are a big club when it comes to prestige and fan following. What you talking about Liverpool not being a household name when the whole world has heard about us!!? We can't do anything about the city compared to London that is one of the major ones in the world so Chelsea and Arsenal will always have that advantage over us. Manchester is hardly New York either, last time I visited it was a complete dump. In order to compete for top players we do need to first win the league and qualify for the Champions League as well. Over the years we have signed our share of world class players like Torres. We have generally always made superstars instead of buying them that is not a bad philosophy to have. Look at Man City spending ££££ million's on very average players, I don't want us to be like them. Money comes with winning trophies and the league.

Southampton may ask for about a 30 million. Almost certainly they will drive a hard bargain.

Depends how badly we want him. If the Saints feel we're desperate then they'll keep increasing the value knowing that the transfer window is coming to a close. I think we should make them a take it or leave it offer. If the likes of Chelsea are willing to pay more then us in the summer then we'll lose out. As I say we must win the League to attract the top players, until then we're also ran's. I am walking on with hope in my heart....
