Joe Biden Says Trains Will Soon Be Almost as Fast as Planes

Its that Musk idea on hyper loop trains. I think we are probably 50 years away from theory to practice on a usable scale.

Im not sure it's possible, as trains going so fast will be hard to stay on track? Not sure.

Maybe Joe is harping on to make himself feel smart when hes not.

Im assuming you also feel this is not possible?

Perhaps Biden now loves trains as its tought to climb the stairs of Air Force one. :)

Most commercial airliners fly at near Mach 1 (speed of sound); certainly over the atlantic/pacific.

Biden is a fool if he believes a train on tracks can achieve such speeds.

I guess if you include the time required for taxi before and after takeoff etc than it might bring the overall travel time closer between the two options.

A taxi would also be required getting to the train station.

Seems like political propaganda as he's feeling the heat already.

And you are smart who thinks trains as fast as Biden claims would run on tracks? Even Bullet train do not run on tracks.

They do run on tracks, just magnetic. (Maglev).

What you mean to say is no physicial contact between carriage and the tracks.

Forget Biden's claims, I would check your knowledge first.

I am talking about the plane taxiing from the boarding dock to the runway

Ok my bad.

Still a far fetch imo. IVe been to plenty of airports. One of the longest for taxi is Schipol in Amsterdam, takes around 15 mins after landing to park at the gate.

Apparently they did a test run of the Hyperloop at over 600mph. The small scale proposed routes like San-Francisco/LA and Dubai/AbuDhabi are very much possible in the near future. Not sure about the trans-continental ones that Biden is talking about though.
