For non-Americans or folks who don't really follow American politics he's the current vice president to Obama.

The man himself regrets not having pushed for a presidential run, in his own words "I regret it everyday". He may have had a greater chance of winning than Sanders for sure, who came in as an unknown quantity to the fore and his policies put off a lot of the big media moguls and industries. With Biden he may have been like Obama part 2, but definitely better than Hillary. He also had the personality and charisma a lot like Obama to win the majority over and suppress the conservatives.

He's like a happier and jolly version of Frank Underwood from House of Cards. Both were VPs as well.

I don't think Trump could've won vs him.

he's a bit too jolly and non serious at times so i dont know how he would be in the lead role

also hes very old

He would've certainly won, there's no way Biden would have lost Michigan, Wisconsin & Pennsylvania - those 3 states along with the others Hillary had won would've been enough to win the election. I think he would've won Ohio too.

After his son's death, he said he was not in the right frame of mind to run for President.

He would have certainly lose; any establishment guy would have lose. Trump win because he is an outsider.

He lost his wife and young daughter in a car crash and had to two raise his two boys by himself until he remarried. Last year he lost one of his sons to brain cancer.

Kudos to the guy for being jolly and not a case of chronic depression, as would been the case with the majority of people who would have gone through so much tragedy.

not leadership material...Bernie was/is the man for the Democrats but they messed up

he'll be 74 in a few days. so he'll be 78 by the time he's sworn in.

Well there is a possibility that Trump may not last till 2020. There is precedence of presidents being impeached :afridi

Hillary got too complacent. They thought they already won when Trump was the other candidate. Pools showing Hillary huge lead did not help either. Democrats stayed home because they thought they would win easily while every redneck came out for Trump.

Question is now will Trump be President for 4 or 8 years.

Still cannot believe they elected a nutcase like Trump.

Working-class white constituency is tailor-made for Joe. He would have easily won.

The DNC pushed out all the other establishment candidates as early as 2013 because it was Hillary's turn.

Amazingly voters don't actually like entitled people expecting to become President because "it's my turn"

LMAO Bernie was a socialist atheist. There is no way he would have won anything. Heck he lost the primaries by millions. He was not going to get the votes of the Republicans

I think in the end we are making the same mistake which all analysts, pollsters etc made. Thinking Trump won because the other candidate was weak. Trump won because people wanted Trump. They came up in millions to vote for him. Clinton got more votes than Obama yet Trump got even higher. People simply wanted Trump this time

That would have been true if Clinton had not got more votes than Obama. She did. Trump just got more votes. You are again making the same mistake everyone (including me) made this election. Thinking Trump is weak and won only because the opposition was weak. Trump has constantly shown that he can mobilize a large section of the population. This was a Trump wave, no one could have survived that, not even Obama

Huh?

Trump got less votes than Romney who got far less than Obama

I don't think so. Trump won not because people love him, he won because people hate Hilary. States like Michigan (which have never been a deciding state in elections) became the swing state because people surprisingly didn't show up or voted the other way. Up until 1am on election night, Democrats kept saying they had Detroit and it's suburbs in their pockets and that will be enough for them to take Michigan but it didn't happen. The vote bank Democrats were counting on is the large Arab population in Detroit area which surprisingly didn't turn out and gave Trump a huge chunk of Wayne County.

This is obviously from what people have told me after the election and from what I've observed in my county. Bernie might not have won against Trump but the reason he had more support than Hilary and still does is because he was different. Surprising fact was over 30% of registered Democrats didn't even turn out to vote and that proves that Hilary's primary win was fishy. Also, Julian Assange suggested the DNC party worker who was mysteriously killed in an accident was the person who leaked Hilary's emails to Wikileaks...implying that people within the DNC were sick and wanted a change (which explains why over 30% didn't turn out to vote)
