"Just like Kohli who wins games by himself, I would like to carry the team to victory" : Shadab Khan

Shadab Khan talking to media:

"Pakistan is a bit behind in the rankings so if given the chance will do my best to move them forward"

"Initially it felt like a dream but it seems that my dreams will come true with a chance to play for Pakistan"

"I am focused on cricket but I will also try and complete my studies"

Is your celebration inspired by Imran Tahir etc "No I am not inspired by him but he is the top bowler in ODI and T20s and I am trying to emulate his success"

"Mushtaq Ahmed is really helping me with my bowling"

"I will try to become the best bowler on the upcoming tour of the West Indies"

"Every batsman's aim is to finish games - Just like Virat (Kohli) who wins games by himself, I would like to carry the team to victory as well"

Lol Kohli has lost it completely, won't b surprised if his place is in danger in tests if he continues like this for 2-3 more tests,India is a tough place to be in poorest form of your life as an Indian cricketer.

This lad is like the second coming of Afridi. Excellent leg-spinner, capable hard-hitting batsman, athletic fielder with safe pair of hands and a cocky attitude to boot.

I dearly hope that 15-16 years down the line we don't look at his career like we do with Afridi who didn't even achieve 10% of his potential and instead decided to rest on his laurels.

Mighty impressive player, watched him a couple of times, his body language looks the part for an international cricketer. If he intends to finish games he's emulating the wrong bloke, he need not look any further than Dhoni.

With regards to his bowling, he needs to curb his proclivity to bowl googlies, learn to bowl the leg break with supreme accuracy for his variations to be effective. He is yet to play international cricket but, I am certain he will leapfrog Babar Azam in a jiffy, who is quite mediocre to be honest.

He should first get in to the team regularly before promising this and that. We have had so many players with supposed potential who have failed to deliver. Until I see some few top innings at international level there is no comparison with Kohli. Learn to walk before you think of running.

His name starts with an S too so maybe we should start calling him lala jr.

Well he's certainly not short on confidence.

But son international cricket ain't that easy.

got the required swag. there will be tough days but we need to stand by this guy.
why does he need to mention kohli

Huh?

What is with the non-stop fawning over Kohli by Pakistani cricketers?

Don't give me the "But the journalist asked them" shtick. It can't be that when everybody does it.

In this case, it wasn't the journalist. He was talking about finishing innings and batting deep etc. so he mentioned 'Virat' in a casual manner as an example to follow.

Don't mind his comment about Kohli. Much prefer him responding this way by appreciating the qualities of other players and wanting to bring them into his own game rather than the defensive responses Shehzad, Umar and now Babar has given when Kohli's name came up.

He has confidence which is good to see. I don't have an issue with him using Kohli as an example.

It's getting super annoying now.

Most of the younger batsmen are asked about him.

This is the first time where the player brought him up and I suppose its more to do with the respect they have for his ability under pressure.

Most Pakistani players prefer the comparison to Indian cricketers because they can relate to the hostile environment created by fans and media members.
