Kamran Akmal Fielding Watch

Has anyone even seen him yet? Have Pakistan successfully managed to send on a sub fielder from ball one?

:)) These Indian fans trying to jinx our Kami Red Devil god forbid the badwah dont affect the phenom

Loool London_Bangalori can try all he wants but our phenom is unjinxable. :))

I remember him fielding in a match for Pakistan before. Dropped a catch at long on!

Needs to be given the gloves. Him dropping a catch behind the stumps looks a bit more assuring. That drop as fielder looked way too awkward.

I think he should stick to keeping at least that way he would only be dropping catches :))

This was always going to be a concern. Unlike Moin and Rashid Kamran is different. He has been wearing gloves since age 12 non stop so Catching without gloves and clean collection will always always be a problem.

Don't forget his not so good eyesight, fitness and even poor catching reflexes with the gloves on.

As I write this he makes a terrible fumble.

why select him when he has so many problems?

Kami is not the worst fielder in the team, what about the one dropped by Hasan Ali and fielding by Tanvir.
Shehzad is the best fielder, IMad is also very good also Shadab.

PCB's imaan will be under threat if atleast one of the Akmal brothers is not part of limited overs teams

Imad fields like Misbah in the old days.

Looks like he dropped one today.

Fielding just like Sarfraz keeps behind the stumps, or others like Hafeez and Sharjeel field. Why's everyone losing their minds? Markhor Syed1

Kamran isn't great in the field to begin with. He's average/poor just like others.

Hypocrisy by some over this is amazing. Want someone to bump the "Sarfraz is a poor keeper" thread?

Shehzad, Babar, Malik, Imad, Shadab and Wahab are all good fielders. That's over 1/2 of the 11.

Sarfrraz was fine today.

Kamran is not a good fielder. One of the worst in the world let alonet he team.

The rest are poor. It's not a hidden fact we are one of the most pathetic fielding sides.

Kami can be a good bat so we have to play him. He's just like others - Sarfraz, Sharjeel, Hafeez, Tanvir etc. when it comes to catching.

It becomes hilarious when Sarfraz brigade makes fun of Kami for catching.

At least Hafeez, Tanvir and Hassan can run. Kami is as fast as Sharjeel.

You got to be kidding me, he actually dropped a catch? :))) just tuning in

I asked this question back in PSL.

I have no problems with bringing Kamran into the T20 side based on batting but then you end up with 2 Keepers who have never fielded.

I saw this coming that Kamran will find it difficult to field.

A needless shot to give away his wicket when we were going well. He doesn't seem to analyse where the fielders before playing a shot. Off course Akmal would not be the cricketer he is without dropping a few catches like he did. Should have been easily taken.

Terrible fielding on his first outing as a fielder in International Cricket, continuing the life long trend of dropping and miss fielding.

He needs serious work on his fielding.

Looked lethargic and heavy footed.

Kamran dropping a catch was easily my favourite moment of the match, followed closely by Wahab laughing with Kamran after a nice bit of ground fielding.

there seems to be severe lack of planning from the selectors. kamran akmal currently only fits into the team as a wicket-keeper batsman. Now with Sarfraz as the captain he is guarenteed to play always (with the gloves on). They should have foresighted the issue with akmal's fielding. He should be asked to field in domestic as well instead of keeping and then based on his performance in the field it should be decided whether if he's fit enough for the job. But instead he was awarded best wicket keeper's award in the psl!

How is he big man doing today? :)) have we found a position to hide him :yk3

So where does one hide Kamran Akmal on the field? The man is not designed for menial work!

:danish just dropped a sitter off Imad's ball  Powell scored a fifty in the last match, this would cost us

Its stupidity to expect somebody who has never fielded in his career to field at the fag end of his career. its impossible

he wasnt taking a blinder. It was a regulation practice catch. You expect people in late 40s to catch that

Kami is a poor fielder indeed, but we have no better alternatives as an opener.

He's as bad a fielder as Sarfraz is a keeper.

We have no alternatives? To a person who averages in the early 20s and is one of the worst batsman to ever play for us consistently?

Remind me of the terrible keeping Sarfaraz has done this series? He must have dropped at least two catches right, to be as bad as Akmal?

lol no way. Sarfraz's keeping this series has been MUCH better than Kamrans fielding. Don't think he's dropped a catch, just fumbled a couple of takes at the start.

did you even watch that chance?

Even a 10-year-old academy cricketer would take that catch for breakfast.

Pretty sure anyone on this forum, people who have never played cricket, could have caught that, let alone an international player

Sarfraz just took a blinder yesterday off Hafeez' ball, done well this series overall.

Kamran dropped the simplest of catches today, a kid wouldn't have dropped that catch

Not interested in the history channel.

Been great in the PSL, domestics, and intl cricket too after his comeback.

Judge him if he fails in 5-10 matches, just like other players/openers.

Accept it, he's the only opener who can accelerate and hit the ball, esp against pace bowling. Shehzad, Azhar, Shan masood etc. can't do it.

Look at Sarfraz's weight. Does he look like a keeper to you?

He hasn't done anything major this series, indeed, so far. But, wait for Tests or champions trophy.

I CAN'T BEAR THIS ANYMORE! We've made this guy a domestic bully and international joke :110: :110: :110:

Useless failed batsman, failed fielder, failed player, can't run hence his dot balls, can't field hence the dropped catches, can't score hence miserable and pathetic average.

Haha I genuinely laughed out loud at this. He has been great in his comeback? You mean his 158 runs in 6 innings? I mean, I agree that's a an imrovement for his standards... but great? Try and explain that without bringing up the performance of Shehzad etc.

And judge him after 5-10 matches? That exactly is the point. He performs in domestic, is selected for the team, fails miserably after 5-10 matches...is 'judged' and sent out of the team. Then he performs again in domestic and his blind fans like you say comments like 'not interested in history channel'.

Looking forward to reading your reply on this.

He can only be judged relative to his competition and the options we have available. He's just better, which is a reality, no matter how bitter for some.

He'll be better than most of the team in CT too, where he can actually play pace.

But others like Malik/Sarf/Shehzad can't.
