What's new

Khalistani flags raised in red fort on Republic day

Clearly its the most superior regiment and churns out officers that end up being your chiefs. The fact of the matter is for a population of their size, their proportion in the Indian army is higher and they wont go down without a fight, you cannot imagine crushing them like CC's wishful thinking.

Do you even know how many Sikh Army chiefs India has had? Any idea?

Nationalism is the cover that they put on. I am sure Johsila wants to send y'all to Pakistan inside his heart.
With Arnab's WhatsApp chats going public, last bit of nationalist naqaab has come off sanghis' faces. They in fact are biggest traitors ever.

What has this got to do with today's riots?

The man was thrown out of BJP within hours. He fired at Shaheen Bagh anti CAA protests in feb 2020. What has that got to do with his induction and expulsion from Bjp in Dec 2020?

If he was a Bjp supporter trying to infiltrate and destroy the credibility of the Anti CAA protests, why will he fire at the Anti CAA protrstors?

You are few posts and one page late. You should have cried over it when Rajdeep mentioned Shaheen Bagh in OP. Slim mentioning it because he read the OP where as you got excited after reading the title only. At least he isn't discussing someone's nationality here and derailing this thread like you were doing few posts ago with JaDed. Now please reply to my post above. :inti

This is interesting. Could this literally be a false flag to justify the crackdown on peaceful protesters?

Buddy most of your army's main regiments are Sikh dominated. You really think this will be that easy? Sikhs wont go down like that - they are warrior class of people.

Read it again. You are validating my point. I said Sikhs should get Khalistan, so that the path to Hindu Rashtra becomes easy. If one has to keep sikhs under india, then we all have to pretent to be secular, and that means bye bye to our rights of a hindu nation.

btw, I am a pro khalistani. Sikhs deserve their own country. I don't even hate muslims as a hindutva supporter. I only hate sickulars.

Try again!!!!

And this video is weeks old.

Bill seems to be the right move. I don't know much about Indian politics but the persistance of Sikh protesters indicate that there must be more to it than just drama.

Farm Bill was always right and everyone knows it. Hence it was passed in both houses of parliament after democratic debate. But it has become a fashion in India to do violent protest against a parliamentary bill after it has been passed. The same thing happened for CAA bill as well.

Let me tell you where the real issue is. People of this country dont trust the opposition anymore and dont vote for them. If you look into last general election, BJP alone has won 303 seats and Congress has only 52. So there are not enough elected MPs to represent opposition in parliament and argue against such bills.

So what do these unelected members do? What would people like Yogendra Yadav or Kanhaiya Kumar's do? Obviously people will not elect them in parliament in million years. They take the route of violence and when get caught pants down (like today), they try to take shelter in channels like NDTV and disassociate themselves from these events.

All these events is just making BJP more stronger and if opposition dont mend its way BJP alone would cross 400 seats next time. In that case there wont be any debate and govt will just pass bills they see fit. I have yet to see a dumber opposition anywhere than what we have in India. They simply dont learn their lesson like few posters here :)

This is the anarchy of the unelectables.

They cannot get people's vote, so will try to change laws by street fights.

Whether it is dead or alive, only thing I care about is justice. Sikhs cannot be stateless. Every religion deserves a homeland, whether sikhs, muslims, or hindus. I don't mind burning the indian flag. it is not my flag. My flag is saffron.

This is how the bill was passed through the Rajya Sabha, need I say more?

an effing voice vote at that.

And even then it should have been stopped the moment any single MP voiced against it, but guess what it went through despite all the calls against it.

All the opposition wanted was a bloody parliamentary committee to check on the bill before it became a law and the govt bulldozed its way to pass the bill through.
Now, its being forced to settle by delaying it for another 18 months, talk about self goals eh?

Imagine Kashmiri muslims getting into trucks and driving enmasse to Delhi.

Now tell me what the response of India would have been.

How many people have been killed and blinded in today's violence?

By the way internet was suspended in Kashmir today also on india's republic day because it is a threat to India's sovereignty (actual words used in the ban notification) :))

That video shows nothing except TMC MP throwing a rule book in chairs face. Indian parliament is always uncultured and chaotic...so not sure what is new in this video. Voice voting has been done many times in the past. The entire concept of 'ayes' and 'noes' came from voice voting. Congress during its days used this method many times.

Now just because people dont elect them in Lok Sabha and their numbers are also reducing in Rajya Sabha, they dont want voting but want parliamentary committee to intervene rather. Hilarious.

Why are people electing MPs then? To do what? If they dont have the right to vote in parliament and a commitee is required to jury every bill, they may stop the general election.

The ruckus was because the deputy speaker didnt heed the calls to stop the voice vote, which as per mandate must be stopped the moment even a single MP voices against it.

The oppo lost its cool, but didnt stop the deputy speaker from forcing through the result. In fact there were calls from one of the CPI MPs who was seated not just the ones shouting.

And dont go on about what and how things happened in the past. Its about the now and there was no way this was as clear cut motion as was made out to be.

The govt tried to strong arm itself in forcing through laws, parliamentary committee may or may not have worked, but its now facing the music having to suggest to pull back the law for 18 months.

The govt has a majority in the RS. So constitutionally they can pass the law without sending it to any committee. If anyone believes that the bill is unconstitutional, challenge it in the supreme court.

The only self goal has been by the opposition who supported these hooligans, who rioted in Delhi, desecrated the red fort and injured policemen. Now everyone is running to distance themselves from them.

Govt offered a peace deal to the farmers. Now after today they wont get anything.

If the opposition believes that they have the numbers and not the govt, they could have forced an amendment, they couldn't.

Afterwards they could have tabled a removal motion against the deputy speaker.

How many people have been killed and blinded in today's violence?

Gurmeet Ram Rahim conviction protests 40+ killed
Patel agitation 14 killed
Gorkhaland GJM agitation 11 killed
Thoothukudi Sterlite protests 13 killed

All of the above incidents happened in the last 4 years or so. I am sure you must have heard or read about them.

Police action was less today because protests were largely peaceful except in the Red Fort area. In many cases farmer protesters themselves helped the policemen carry out their duties.

He has a point. indian state treads carefully when it comes to sikhs. They have earned this by their strength.

The hooligans are not representative of the entire movement, nor will they in any way make the actual farmers push back on their demands. And who cares of what the opposition thinks, the farmers can continue doing what they feel is their right. The opposition will come running back on their own.

The farmers have managed to distance themselves from the ones who caused damage and were the ones who called back their people from the Red Fort.
Will see how things turn out from now, but these are not CAA protestors who would lie down. Its their livelihoods at stake and they wont rest.

This protest is gone. They won't get anything. Their facade of peaceful annadata is gone.

OTT reaction by godi media. Protests were mostly peaceful and it looked like a sea of Indian flags, not Khalistani this, Khalistani that. Of course a few anti-socials took advantage, even deep state may have been involved to malign the cause. But with so many lakhs of people involved the leaders of the protesters did a good job at calming the crowds. They even asked all of them to retract after the Red Fort incident, and most have complied. Too many lies and propaganda tweets floating around, fact checkers will have a busy couple of days ahead.

Helped by leadership I guess. Otherwise mobs would have run amok and state would have been compelled to hit hard.

Why do you think Indian state treads carefully when it comes to Sikhs? What changed compared to 80s and 90s when Sikhs were victims of police excesses?

You can keep thinking that way, enough of the truth will come out in the coming days. And people know how the media works in our country to avoid falling for such traps. Nothing is as it seems in Indian politics, even the casual observer knows that.

So 83 policemen, including lady police officer got injured and 1 got killed but you found protests peaceful? And why blame media...they were just showing what was going on in the streets. So you expect media to not report violence? You can do as many fact checks you want but the videos of today's incident are there for everyone to see.

They ran amok, but police ran away for their lives, some even jumped 30 ft down instead of shooting. You mess with muslims, even hindus, but never with sikhs. They are different people. There is a reason they are called Sardar.

Kuch bhi. The genocide against Sikhs in 84 took place with the full complicity of the Delhi police and yesterday as well Sikh farmers were shot by the police.

It is Hindus that are the holy cows in India who can get away with anything in the name of religion.

On one hand I feel for the minorities in India on the other, this is what you get when you elect a fascist as your PM . This is just the beginning , Extremism only breeds extremism . We should know in Pakistan , we have seen our country go down the same hole and now are digging ourselves out of it .

A Tamizhan wouldn’t know it either, just like Sikhs wouldn’t know anything about Tamizhans .

The only issue here is misinformation being spread and call that out .

I don't even know who Tamizhans are - is this another way of saying Tamilians?

I am worried now - while I don't have any business talking about Khalistan unless am willing to put my boots on ground, this is not going to end well.

What is not going to end well? It is clear Deep Sidhu screwed up, own up to it like many Sikhs have already that he hijacked it and Ravi Singh(khalsa aid) has been called out as well for supporting him before today.

Not sure what u r expecting , checkout how police are dealing with it , them falling from the walls should be enough for you to call it out, that there is an issue in the protests.

Seems like agitators were placed amongst the farmers to start the riot???
Looks like same playbook is being used over and over again.

Khanda (double edged Sword) is a Sikh religious symbol

ckA7xs.png

It's very similar to Iranian emblem -

wtX5ss.png

It is called khanda as it's Punjabi name for do-taari talwaar (double edged sword).

You have to be fool & delusional both to believe that govt’s intel agencies had no clue about what happened today. That’s it, that’s the tweet. I have said it time & again that we aren’t just battling barricades & propaganda but deep state as well.

This whole thing will not end well. There is something called a self fulfilling prophecy- keep labelling all Sikhs as Khalistanis and see what happens.

I believe more information is needed from trustworthy journalists like Ravish Kumar and Haritosh Bal before blame can be assigned. With that said, this Indian government has treated farmers with legitimate grievances like animals that need to be contained for almost 2 months now- not allowing them to get into Delhi, making a mockery of talks with them. What were they expecting?

Peaceful protestors, trying to run over the police:

Oh we are sure in our support. 120 million Punjabis vs 20 million Sikhs.

Punjabi Muslims always supported a united Punjab under Pakistan. It's the Sikhs and Hindus who wanted Punjab partitioned because they were afraid of being dominated by Punjabi Muslims.

You know that right?

Which public? This is not a fake protest. Those who have actually seen them sitting on roads know it. It will be better if you keep your expert opinion on this protest to yourself and do not present it as a fact because you are looking like a fool here. I think someone like you who can't even differentiate between 2 flags will never be able to differentiate between a fake protest and a real protest anyway. :inti

Looks like it has became a pattern in Delhi for some to peddle their agenda via violence om republic day.

Last year, it was Shaheen Bagh and Delhi riots in the namd of citizenship bill.

This year Firm bill and farmers excuse used to riot in red fort and raise Khalistani flags

I think it’s pretty good to freely express your political views in a democratic environment.

I hope Pakistan’s ISI is fully supporting and generously funding Khalistan movement with Chinese money, as creation of Khalistan is a win win situation for all. It will bring peace into the region as it will create a buffer on a major portion of India Pakistan border. Which means, there will be a lot less cross border firing between India n Pakistan.

China must appreciate it cuz it’s investments in Pakistan become more safer. So their proxy in Khalistan would not be surprising. It’s good.

Sikhs will also get their own freedoms and their own rights to live independently.
IMO, Sikhs are an extremely hard working group and must get full benefits to reap the rewards of their hard work ratter than being slaves of the rest of India.

Currently India has bad relations with almost all its neighbors so it may benefit that India is broken into pieces and see if it brings peace to the region? This is my personal opinion and I could be wrong but I think it wouldn’t hurt to try.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim conviction protests 40+ killed
Patel agitation 14 killed
Gorkhaland GJM agitation 11 killed
Thoothukudi Sterlite protests 13 killed

All of the above incidents happened in the last 4 years or so. I am sure you must have heard or read about them.

Police action was less today because protests were largely peaceful except in the Red Fort area. In many cases farmer protesters themselves helped the policemen carry out their duties.

Not at all comparable. This is miniscule compared to what we have been put through.

Interesting to see that even these incidents are mostly against minorities.

:inti

In flags wlags ka pata nahi, but expect a flase flag in Kashmir.

That is the last refuge.

We loved, celebrated, and judicially exonerated the morons who broke a building as vandals. The proponents of that barbaric crime are today lecturing the country on peaceful protests. Irony is doing some double summersaults. Dissent is patriotic. #HappyRepublicDay

Jai Shri Ram.

Kuch bhi. The genocide against Sikhs in 84 took place with the full complicity of the Delhi police and yesterday as well Sikh farmers were shot by the police.

It is Hindus that are the holy cows in India who can get away with anything in the name of religion.

Not kuch bhi. I was replying to a question which asked what changed from 80s and 90s, which mean I am talking about post 1984. You can clearly see yesterday police were running for their lives despite being armed.

Hindus have been shot dead by police many times. Let me know if you don't have any examples, and I will provide you at least 10.

Jai Shri Ram.

When someone's main argument is irony, then there is no argument at all. He is only agreeing but just wants to highlight that others did it too.

I don't know why you are against khalistan. Sikhs cannot remain stateless. Sikhs may be well settled in canada, but they need a homeland, their pind which was the birthplace of their civilization. Nothing wrong. Khalistan is a just demand. It is not only Sikhs who need to get freedom from hindus, even hindus need freedom from sikhs, as there can be no Hindu Rashtra with Sikhs included.

You are being facetious but yes I do not want Khalistan. I do not want the bloodshed of innocent Punjabis which will accompany its creation and I am too secular to ever be ok with being a part of a religious state.
Yet I don't know how minority religions can co-exist anymore in India with this version of Hinduism.

Yesterday, in my signal group of cops, a officer who is a hindu and belongs to Punjab cadre, was saying nothing offends the punjabis more than being called anti national or khalistanis, and he was warning that if their sacrifices are questioned like this, they will show that their loyalty was not out of compulsion, but by choice.

See, I have respect for sikhs too. But how can I deny them khalistan when I want a hindu rashtra myself? If sikhs remain with union of india, then we will never get our hindu rashtra. Just for that sikhs need to get separated, obviously on good terms.

Delhi Violence : 200 detained; Yogendra Yadav, 7 farmer leaders named in FIR

So far, 22 FIRs have been registered in connection with violence in which over 300 policemen were injured.

https://www.indiatoday.in/india/sto...etained-yogendra-yadav-fir-1763199-2021-01-27

This Yogendra Yadav guy should have been jailed long time back in my view. In almost every riot, you will find his hand. He was the master mind behind CAA Delhi riots last year, JNU attacks and now this Khalistani riots. The way he speaks, his tone and gesture, it appears that he is the reincarnation of Gandhi himself and most sober man on planet earth. But he has been thoroughly exposed now and jail time coming soon.

Many Indians may not agree with the Khalistani movement, but it's naive to ignore or refuse to understand them.

Sikhs have bent over backwards to be a fabric of Indian society but it's always come up second in clutch times. The current Hindutva hysteria has shown where Sikhs (and all non-Hindus) stand when it comes to the country's affairs.

Red Fort violence: Delhi police detain 200 after farmer protests

Police have detained 200 protesters following Tuesday's deadly violence in India's capital Delhi during a massive protest against agricultural reforms.

Thousands of farmers clashed with police as protesters on the outskirts of the city forced their way in.

One protester died, and more than 300 police officers were injured.

Blaming the chaos on rogue elements among an otherwise peaceful march, most farmers' leaders said they would not call off their protests.

Those detained are being held on charges of rioting, damaging public property, and attacking police personnel. So far, 22 police complaints have been registered.

"We are making arrests after conducting proper verification. We are also looking into CCTVs near Red Fort, ITO, Nangloi and other areas where the violence erupted," police officials told the Indian Express newspaper.

India's government deployed 15 companies of paramilitaries to boost security after the protests, which also saw some farmers storming the city's historic Red Fort and occupying the ramparts until police drove them out.

BKU (Bhanu), Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan withdraw from farmers' protest over Jan 26 violence

Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan leader VM Singh said his organisation is withdrawing from the ongoing farmers' protest with immediate effect. The Bhartiya Kisan Union (Bhanu) too has announced its withdrawal from the protest.

As I said yesterday, this protest drama has ran its course and will die down now. Good riddance.

You are never, ever going to get your Hindu Rashtra or whatever you call it. Your Sikh friends won't get their Khalistan either. Deal with it.

And those from the other side of the border having wet dreams about India breaking up would do well to hold on to Balochistan first!

Peaceful protestors, trying to run over the police:

Amazing.

On Pakistan day we have some shiny missiles and commandos on show but Indias day looks more fun.

Tractor racing, Tractor ramming buses. Climbing competition on old monuments, water fights , gas fights, swords on show. But my favourite has to be the bloke on a white horse dressed in blue with a blue turban, he gets my vote for best fancy dressed.

Try again!!!!

And this video is weeks old.

How convenient for this video to come out just before the incident.

I may not get to see the Hindu Rashtra, but that doesn't stop me from trying. Even if I move the movement forward by an inch, it is worthwhile. I keep my expectations low and ready for the long game.

You never know.

The dynamics of the universe are always changing. EVERYTHING is subject to change.

Balochistan can break away, and so can India break into segments.

Neither RAW nor ISI will stop with their plans and efforts just because YOU think it’s not gonna happen, and everything will remain stable forever.

Jai Shri Ram.
Every patriotic Indian knows that this despotic regime was behind this violence and hope our farmers' resolve gets even firmer to fight for nothing less than complete repeal of these farm laws.

Imagine had Muslims done what these "protestors" are doing. Waving green flags atop the Red Fort. Does anyone think the reaction would be the same?

Of course it won't be the same. This is why muslims must learn from sikhs how to become strong. Sikhs have had many setbacks but they have always overcome them.

Look, the ISI did orchestrate a very major Khalistan campaign in Indian Punjab in the 1980s - Nothing happened.
The RAW supported a bloody Tamil Eelam campaign in Sri Lanka in the 1980s/1990s. It was aimed at creating a Tamil Hindu dominated state within predominantly Buddhist Sri Lanka- Sweet nothing happened.
Nagaland was fighting for independence from India, on the basis that their Christian religion did not allow them to coexist with predominantly Hindu India - Now they are peaceful and .. nothing happened.

All these demands for territorial independence on the basis of religion are made by pointless losers with ambition, who haven't been able to integrate with a political system. They have no vision and won't have any impact on the wider population, most of whom tend to look beyond religion in their day to day life.

The era where religion is a national priority is over. Even in Pakistan, survey after survey has shown that even though the people love Islam, they are more concerned about jobs, education, healthcare and security.

Deep Sidhu and not Sandhu.. why can’t BJP trolls even get the name right.

Whatever flag it is, no one has the right to fly their favorite flag a top of Red Fort. Tomorrow some other group will raise their own flag on red fort. This is a joke.

Yes, I won't disagree with you. Most of your points are factual; however, please re-read the bold underlined above.
This is not how it looks like in India. Matter of fact, religious based priorities are currently at their highest point in the recent history of India.

People talk about Iran but I firmly believe that India remains the only country in the world where religious fanatics are the ruling party in power.

This is not the case even in countries like Pakistan where religious fanaticism has been made synonymous to it's existence.

And we pretty much know, that the "pointless losers with no ambition" may not have an impact, but when a country is put on the slippery slope of fascism then self destruction is usually the destiny.

So in essence, you never know what the future holds.

Sanghis should be last ones to lecture anyone about our tricolour. There was no tricolour unfurled over sanghis' Nagpur HQ till 2002 when some 'miscreants' unfurled national flag over their HQ building.

Same 'patriotic' sanghis then got a FIR registered against those 'miscreants'.

tricolor is useful only for shrouding the dead. it is not my flag. I have burned it in the past.

Blast outside Israel Embassy in Delhi.

New Delhi: A "very low-intensity" IED (improvised explosive device) was detonated near the Israeli embassy in the heart of central Delhi on Friday evening, the police have said, adding that no injuries or property damage, apart from shattered windscreens of nearby cars, had been reported.
"A very low intensity improvised device went off... No injury to any person was reported... nor was there any damage to property, except the glass panes of three vehicles parked nearby," Anil Mittal, a Delhi Police spokesperson, was quoted by news agency PTI.

The blast took place 1.4 kilometres from Vijaya Chowk, where President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior members of the government had gathered, amid extremely heavy security, for the Beating Retreat ceremony that follows the Republic Day parade.

Home Minister Amit Shah has been briefed on the situation.

Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has tweeted to say he has spoken to his Israeli counterpart, Gabi Ashkenazi, and assured him of "the fullest protection for the Embassy and diplomats".

"Spoke just now to Israeli Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi about the explosion outside the Israeli Embassy. We take this very seriously. Assured him of the fullest protection for the Embassy and Israeli diplomats. Matter is under investigation and no effort will be spared to find the culprits," he said.

Spoke just now to Israeli FM @Gabi_Ashkenazi about the explosion outside the Israeli Embassy. We take this very seriously. Assured him of the fullest protection for the Embassy and Israeli diplomats. Matter is under investigation and no effort will be spared to find the culprits

"An explosion occurred a short while ago, close to the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi. There are no casualties and no harm was done to the building. All diplomats and staff are safe," a statement said.

As part of the SOP (standard operating procedure) in such situations, an alert has been issued at all airports, important installations and government buildings in the country, and "enhanced security measures have been put in place", the CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) has said.

Police sources said the explosive, which an initial probe suggests had ball bearings as part of the IED's makeup, had been wrapped up in a plastic bag and left on the pavement outside a nearby residence that is just metres away from the embassy.
