Kieron Pollard blasts Sanjay Manjrekar over "verbal diarrhea"

Indeed. Personally, I rate higher Dravid that Tendulkar. But then again, Tendulkar edges over him because of the longevity factor that Tendulkar brings to the table. Performing consistently for so, so long is ATG material. Similarly for Younis.

Tendy was glorious too watch too, especially in full flow in an ODI. Along with Ponting and KP, the only batsman I enjoyed watching more than a good fast bowler.

I feel when we're talking about all time great players in the last 40 years, we have to take into account how good they were across formats.

whats next its racist for English commies to describe Afridi as brainless. Because the British Empire classed Pashtuns as a martial race only good for fighting and lacking intelligence to act in a civilised manner.

Pollard is making a mountain out of a molehill.

Most likely because Manjrekars comments are true and theyve hit a nerve within Pollard and he is a lower order hack who cant construct an innings to save his life.

Indeed. And that is why Younis is no ATG for me. You can't be ATG for one format only.

Would be the blandest verbal duel ever had, looking at pollard's tweets i think most won't understand what he is saying and knowing Manjrekar's commentary most won't want listen to what he is saying.

Hahahaha that cracked me up..

Though I wouldn't mind seeing them both have a go at it with subtitles for pollard..

Sanjay is just saying what we're all thinking. Pollard is a stealing a living for a guy who shows up maybe once every 4-5 matches.

I'd still label him atg but not upper tier but purely lookin at tests he has gotta be up there but overall its sad that his ODI run just wasnt that good

The double standards on this forum is interesting.

South African cricketers abandon their country for Kolpak: Well they've got bills to pay. Must be something to do with the quotas.

West Indian cricketers don't sign central contracts to play T20: Look at these mercenaries chasing the dollar.

Tino may have a point.

Well SA cricketers leaving likely does have something to do with quotas. I don't wanna divert this thread into another quota issue but although the Rand and other issues play a role the fewer opportunities for these cricketers has contributed partially to them leaving. WI cricketers have to put up with awful WICB administration true, but if I'm not wrong the wage they take in is still fairly hefty. I'd imagine its more than the wage the Kolpak players would've faced had they stayed in SA but I'll admit I don't know if this is true and am open to correction.

For the record I'm aware of the WICB's incompetence. My issue is with Pollard,Best, Samuels and others are constantly in the media for negative reasons or controversy, because they're arrogant as hell. I despise arrogance more than anything in sport, so naturally I dislike all these players I mentioned. Holder and Sammy are WI cricketers are actually admire because they just get on with it or they aren't total *****. The SA cricketers can rarely ever be accused of lack of effort, however when the likes of Samuels,Pollard etc turn out for the WI they look as if they couldn't be bothered, hence why I label them mercenaries and the SA cricketers not so much. One team cares only when in flashy t20 leagues the others eventually left for money but at the very least gave their all while they still played.

Course some of the SA cricketers probably are just as guilty of being mercenaries, difference is they at least don't act like a pack of superstar arrogant schmucks because of it. They made their decision and moved on, if they start spouting nonsense on twitter I'll dislike them just as much as I do Pollard/Best and co. And Best doesn't have a point on anything, whats he even doing nowadays?? Last I heard of him he was bragging on twitter about sleeping with hundred's of women during a now forgotten career. But now he's trying to play some oppressed victim card? pfft pull the other one Tino.

Lastly, the term "Brainless batting " is literally used daily by some people. Ironically the massive furore they've made over this has kinda justified the claim that they are in fact brainless also.

But as usual the race card has been pulled into something completely irrelevant of race. Nice way of diverting discussion from Pollard's actual performance.

It is in their culture bro, it is not just cricketers. This isn't a race issue, there is a big difference between Africans and West Indians. Even West Indians of Indian origin are very hard to get along with. Many children are very ill disciplined, always blasting their vulgar filled music in elevators in front of kids, no respect to elders and no knowledge on how to behave like a civilized person.

Yeah, but then again, most ATG's were equally good in both formats and that's what Younis lacks. He dominated one format like no tomorrow but the other one is pretty shabby.

Pollard answering his haters with the bat. :afridi

There is something really unlikable about Pollard. He has that arrogant attitude about him despite not having achieved much in International cricket. There is swagger like Viv or Holding used to have and there is arrogance that Pollard has. He thinks he is beyond criticism and the West Indian team lashes out violently any time they are criticized. They tend to perform better when PO'd though so cannot argue with the results.

Have anybody heard the conversation between Sanjay and shastri in the commentary in the following match?

When shastri jokingly asked Sanjay how did it went with the big man pollard before toss. To that Sanjay explained that pollards reaction on Twitter came out of nowhere and out of the blue. Then he later explained to shastri that as he has been in commentary since long time he has now seen it all.

It was only a brief conversation regarding that incident

Michael Clarke is being cheeky though, with this tweet saying exactly the opposite of his colleague Sanjay Manjrekar :broad

IPL is the benchmark for pollard. That shows his level and skills. Just a couple of weeks ago he couldnt score a single run vs pak.

He even mentioned that his innings yesterday is the stuf of champions... whaaat?!?!?!

Pathetic player who needs to stick to these T20 circus.

Lol Pollard can only score these runs on the slow flat tracks.

He oiterally couldnt buy a run in the BBL against anything over 130kph

By saying Brains, Sanjay got a bit personal. He should said game or the technique.

Pollard and Tino Waste went totally overboard for it.

Manjrekar also routinely disrespects Shikhar Dhawan for his lack of feet movement and poor technique. This is nothing new for Manjrekar. He is a bit bitter as to how his own career went. When he sees lesser players making more money and scoring runs, his inner troll wakes up.

Manjrekar is a bit of an idiot to be honest, I prefer the other Indian comms. It depends how he said it at the time and his tone, if his tone was disrespectful then I can understand why pollard could be angry. He can word it a little bit better.

He is the worst indian commentator out there. He is basically a lobbyist.

PS: Not counting bhajji or LSRK as commies.

Bhajji is pretty inexperienced, I haven't heard Siva for a while but I remember him being pretty decent. Did he say something in the IPL?

Bhaji looks out of his depth with the sky commies, , makes rambo look like the gary neville of cricket, Harsha Boghle should have got the gig, very insightful

While Harbhjan might have some ways to go, the answer to that is certainly not word salad bhogle

Harsha might mince his words however he knows what he is talking about. I would rather listen to his insightful knowledge and analysis rather than Bhajis tripe that he makes up on the spot. This is coming from someone who despised Harsha.

Difference of opinion. Harsha bhogle has never offered any useful insight on the game in the tactical or strategic sense. Having grifted his way through 2 decades of commentary he basically repeats whatever the person next to him says, with more words. He is the Tom Friedman of cricket commentary
