The world of football is littered with examples of great rivalries. And the most interesting among them is always the rivalry between two top-class managers. These rivalries not only improve the performance of respective teams but also bring somewhat acrimony also to the game. So in your sight which football managers rivalry ranks top in your list.

1. Sir Alex Ferguson vs Arsene Wenger
2. Johan Cruyff vs Fabio Capello
3. Jose Mourinho vs Pep Guardiola
4. Jurgen Klopp vs Pep Guardiola vs Arteta

Mou is one of the goat managers. Has an incredible legacy at inter, porto and Chelsea. But it's sad to see how he massively fell off.

Yep he was beast back then. Especially with Inter Milan treble winning side. He does not that tough now. His rivalry with Mourinho was the most memorable one and much bigger than his acrimony with Conte.

The most intense one was Sir Alex Ferguson vs Arsene Wenger and the most exciting one was Jose Mourinho vs Pep Guardialo

@topspin, @Amjid Javed and being good football analysts share your opinions too here.

Mourinho will never manage in the Premier League again and he will never be considered by the heavyweight clubs again.

His reign as an elite level manager is over. His success may have been short-lived but it was illustrious.

He has a huge legacy and is one of the most important and polarizing figures in history of football. He has nothing to prove to anyone and can retire today with no regrets.

Mourinho is definitely in the top 3 managers of modern football, he proved his mettle by winning a European Cup with a so so side like Porto, then at Chelsea he was a beast making mockery of PL teams with authoritative 1-0, his proffered formations 4-2-1 & 4-1-4-1 became household from Bolton to Real Madrid two decades ago. He galvanised an ageing Inter side and got the better of slick machine like Bayern, even at Real he came close with SF defeats specially o a Barcelona side having once in generation players like Xavi Iniesta and Messi.
With limited budgets and his elephant like ego his powers weened somehow when at United & Spurs and modern teams adapting to new formations like 3-4-2-1, 3-2-4-1, 4-6-0

Nonetheless a true managerial great

Jurgen Klopp has been the only manager to have a better one to one record against Guardialo. While Arteta was just a shine in the pan and is nearing his end now.

I would go with Arsene Wenger (Arsenal) vs Jose Mourinho (Chelsea).
Good choice, Mourinho at that stage was too flamboyant in the area of coaching and lead a conventionally non challenger side to primership glory.

I guess they just lost 1 game in the 2005-2006 season.

Who are the other two on your list bro? And which managers' rivalry do you enjoyed the most?

Personal choice i rate Sir Alex & Carlo Ancelotti in top 2,

Rivalries : SAF v Wenger, Klopp v Guardiola, Jose v Wenger, Benitez, Pep, Conte
Carlo Ancelloti's most successful team in my opinion is AC Milan of 2000s rather than Real Madrid of 2014.
@MP2011 share your thoughts too here.

Mate,

Not much into club football, I rather follow football WCs. Same as my lack of interest in T20 leagues mushrooming all over cricket playing nations.

Sadly, there are hardly any bilateral games in football like they happen in cricket.

My son though, is a huge football buff. Follows all kinds of football games.

Np bro, thought you are a football fan too. Anyways have a good time at forum.

Also Mourinho and Klopp had a much better record than Arteta against Guardialo.

While Arteta's record does not look bad against Klopp as he was too lucky here if you just see the goal difference.

@Geordie Ahmed which rivalry is your favorite. Share your thoughts here.

Wenger vs fergie, both managers had respect for each other but there was no love lost. Neither did either team like each other. That's what made it so good

It was really good and a treat to watch in early 2000s and late 1990s. Unfortunately now with Arteta in charge we are going to see lopsided rivalry with top 2 EPL teams.

My son says Real Madrid of 2014 is quite an under achiever despite all the big names so AC Milan it is for him.
Bro this really shows your son's great football know how and interest👏. Great Maldini was the captain of AC Milan then

It's Fergie-Wenger for me

You had 2 big clubs with class players on either side

Arsenal played the better football but Man U probably edged it in terms of mentality, the amount of times they'd win games playing badly or turn things around from losing positions was scary, they had an aura which almost had teams defeated before the went on the pitch

Though, that aura truly left with Fergie

For me it has to be Fergies and Wengers rivalry.

Two top teams with top quality Managers in had all the ingredients for quality, high drama, emotions running high.

The winning mentality instilled in to the UTD sides at that time under fergie was truly remarkable. For that reason Arsenal and Wenger were always in the shadow.

Those were the golden days of football. But now you have like of arteta who are just of no use and helping klopp and guardialo to get the job done for their team.

What a waste chance by Klopp's side today. Pep is going to win the title again this season. Arteta may be happier today but he still is a bottler whose side defeated a depleted LFC side today.

@KingKhanWC Why has Klopp not been good enough to beat Arteta in the last two seasons?

2 defeats, 2 draws.

Klopp vs Arteta in the last two seasons 🤣

Cmon - we got lucky with atleast one goal
So did Liverpool. Take the mistakes out from both sides and Arsenal still win and with a clean sheet.

Arteta owned Klopp today. Remember - Liverpool couldn’t stop scoring before today and they couldn’t get a shot on goal in the first half.

Let’s not fixate on the mistakes because Arteta tactically outclassed Klopp today.
