What's new

Lahore Qalandars (200/6) beat Multan Sultans (199/8) by 1 run in the PSL 8 final

Fakhar has turned into the 2nd coming of Ahmed Shazad...hitting balls straight to fielders and eating up dots....

This has always been the case for him in the powerplay in ODIs (first 10 overs) and T20s (first 6 overs).

Hence why he needs to bat at 3 or 4.

From getting dropped from KKs and leading his team to 3 consecutive finals, what a turnaround this has been for Rizwan.

This has been Fakhar’s career in a nutshell. Jekyll and Hyde. When he’s at his best he is irresistible but looks like a tailender when he’s struggling.

Fakhar playing a good little pappu innings here.

Fakhar even struggling against the dibbly dobbler bowling of over the hill Pollard...survived LBW shout

Rizwan is the greatest cricketer in Pakistan. Babar has dropped his crown since he took on the captaincy.

He may not be the greatest but his determination, hardwork and believe in his abilities has made him something special. True inspiration for younger generation !

Fakhar's stats when not opening in T20Is - Inns 30, Avg 20.6, Sr 119.8

He bats worse in the middle order than he does when he is opening.

He does not deserve a spot in Pak side actually

He struggled in the T20 World Cup as well...Can't see a spot for him in the current line up especially with the likes of Saim and Haris playing more impactful innings then him...

If I was the MS skipper I'd say to my bowlers don't get Fakhar out.

So a guy who hasn't done anything in any format other than T20s is the greatest cricketer ?

Shaheen says hi.

shaheen like babar is skilled, but upper chamber is void of cricket strategies, he behaves like a spoilled kid and throws tantrums when getting hit. He doesnt have it in him to work out a batsman... every game 1st over he will bowl full length regardless of conditions or batter, then every psl game so far regardless of game situation, shaheen bowls 18th, haris 19th, zaman 20th...

Lucky top edged 6 for Fakhar...hope for his sake he gets going but there is a lot to make up

His highest average is at number 3. His highest strike rate is at number 4.

Unfortunately he’s played one too many match losing innings in big matches and was easily outperformed by Sarfraz in tests recently.

Shaheen is the only player in the Pakistan team that is ATG material in all 3 formats and more importantly is the best player in each format for Pakistan.

Looks like no spin till Fakhar is there. Fakhar is like a hungry lion at the moment waiting desperately for a prey.

He played a very good innings in the semi final versus Australia but guess what Babar and Rizwan played too slow.

He had an excellent game batting at 3 and it should've been a match winning knock. Unfortunately Babar and Rizwan bottled it in another big contest.

Also notice, Fakhar is also batting a lot more freely against the softer ball. He's playing a lot more fluently and with a lot more confidence. He always batted better after the powerplay.

That said Rizwan is definitely the best captain in the PSL.
Shadab/Shaheen are too emotional and childish.
Imad is a loud mouth hypocrite who fills his team with friends while opposing the same for national team.
Babar doesn't care much about leading the team to be the best, his goal is to be the best player always.
Sarfraz should play in legends league.

Sarfaraz is always superior in longer format (Test & ODI's). But was specifically talking about shorter format and how he lifted himself after humiliation in KKs.

Talking about match loosing innings, that's part and parcel of the game. It can happen to best of the world.

I like what I've seen from Abdullah Shafique in this PSL. We all knew he was technically sound but so good to see him come out of his comfort zone.

I would also add him to the mix for players competing for the top 3 spots for Pakistan's T20 team.

Fakhar when opening - Avg 21.73, SR 129

Fakhar batting at 3 and 4 - Avg 21.69, SR 122.30

That "highest strike rate" you're talking about is based on a sample size of 3 innings in which Fakhar averaged 13.6.

39 off 34 balls Fakhar Zaman

What a horrible innings.

Probably good for LQ that he's out.

He can be our best all format player after Babar

Lucky wicket that for Usama Mir. Fakhar should've hit that for an easy six. Not the best innings from him.

If LQ fall short of a good score, he'll be the main culprit.

People screaming PTI in the stands. PDM's failure never ceases to amaze me.

From what I’ve gathered, THIS is his comfort zone.. the epitome of dead batting everything in home tests last year was what was out of his comfort zone.

He’s letting himself go here and being himself. Should not stop doing that even in tests (within reason ofc)

Billings gone trying to charge Usama...too much pressure put on the lower order by that awful innings by Fakhar...

He’s not a naturally aggressive player in tests better that he sticks to his normal style either way his average is coming down once he plays more away tests.

Good bowling changes by Rizwan. Usama Mir should have had been in the Pakistan squad also instead of Nawaz.

Usama Mir has bowled beautifully today.

LQ collapsing.

Need Raza to stick around with Abdullah. Two best batters in this Lahore team.

Whenever I've watched in tests, I always felt this guy was another timid Asad Shafiq with the only exception being he's an opener.

But what I've seen of him in this PSL shows me to he's a good prospect for Pakistan's white ball teams.
