Very exited to see him perform. He can make history by becoming first pakistan cricketer who bowls left arm chinamin

Yes was very sucessfull at U-19 level. He will make history if he plays for pakistan by beig first left arm chinaman of pakistan, he is still 21

Yes he was 15 in 2008, he made his first class debut for pakistan customs as a 14 year old in 2007

Thanks. He has age on his side. Will get a chance if he performs well hopefully. Any video of this guy? I like left arm chinaman bowlers. Do you remember paul adams from south africa?

Just a little correction, if he gets to represent Pakistan, he'll be the 2nd Pakistani who bowls left arm chinaman. Afridi was the first one to do so in Brian Lara cricket 1999 :yk

I remember inzi bowling left arm chinaman in one of the games too. :misbah

We saw what left arm chinaman can do in the kkr vs lahore lions. I hope ahsan jamil gets selected

He should play for different region because karachi has already got likes of atif maqbool, tahir khan, faraz ahmed, shahzaib ahmed khan, fawad etc.

I played U-15 with him for pakistan, he was exceptional

Exactly, how old is he (may be with 6 months margin either side)? Why I am asking is to have an idea of his potential. If I am not wrong, he went to PAK U15 team in WI (Babar Azam, Gohar, Newaz were also part of that team, I believe). Since then, he is probably out of cricket for few years, may be due to studies. If he is close to 22 or even 23, has hope, otherwise it's too late for him.

As opposed to right arm chinaman?

He's only played one first class match and 2 list a. Hasn't played since 2010. Did his parents convince him to study instead?

In any case, chinaman is the most useless type of bowing in cricket, which is why we haven't seen any great chinaman bowlers in cricket history.

Chinaman is basically left arm legspin, so it's hard to master. You lack the control that left arm orthodox spinners have. And unlike right arm legspin, it's not worth it because majority of the batsmen are right handed and the ball tuns towards their leg side.

Laughable comment, off spin bowlers are inferior bowlers to chinamen yet don't see them being ineffective.

Can you prove that?

Off spin bowling gives you more control, it's easier to master and accurate. The highest wicket taker in test cricket is Muralitharan. Then you have Saqlain, Ajmal, Jim Laker and other great off spinners that cricket has seen.

Tell me a single great chinaman bowler, let alone an ATG. Bard Hogg? Paul Adams? :))

There are 14 off spinners who have taken more test wickets than the highest wicket taking chinaman bowler (Paul Adams). There are are dozens of more off spinners before you see a Brad Hogg.

Even if you don't understand why a chinaman bowler is at the disadvantage with both control and right-handed batsman being the majority, you can use the common sense and notice that either most left arm spinners don't take up chinaman bowling because they know they're destined to fail, or if they do take up, you never hear about them because they failed.

Just how many test teams today have chinaman bowlers?

It will add to variaty of pakistan cricket because pakistan is already loaded with offspinners, leg spinners and left arm orthodoxes. We need a left arm chinaman

Pakistan needs variaty because its already loaded with offspinners, legspinners and left arm othodoxes

Pakistan have got offspinners like saeed ajmal, mohammad hafeez, atif maqbool , tahir khan, shoaib malik etc. Left arm spinners like raza hassan, abdul rehman, zulfikar babar, mustafa iqbal, imad wasim, yasim murtaza, zafar gohar etc. Legspinners like shahid afridi, zahid mehmood, yasir shah, usman qadir, karamat ali, saad nasim, tanzeel altaf, usama mir etc. Pakistan need a left arm chinaman also and that is mirza ahsan jamil baig

Yes pakistan got lots of offspin, legspin and left arm orthodox bowlers, need a chinaman

Im desperately waiting for the squad of quad e azam trophy teams this year, hope he is in their

If he is not even selected in quad e azam trophy, then its failure of system and domestic structure

Mirza ahsan jamil baig made his debut for pakistan customs at the age of 14 in 2007-2008 and also went to malaysia for U-19 world cup 2008 but its an intresting that a guy who made his debut at the age of 14 in fc would be lot of talented, the question arises why he is not even in any squad in quaid e azam trophy this year

He is certainly a rare talent, he is only player in whole pakistan who bowls left arm wrist spin. He should play for hyderabad hawks or port qasim athority or UBL maybe habib bank.

He should be in the quaid e azam trophy.
Listen Mirza, you're just not that good. Chinaman is a useless art. Pick up left arm orthodox instead of bumping this thread everyday hyping your useless chinaman bowling up.

Hahaha i think you are drunk, chinaman is a art and the man who bowls it is a rear talent.

Why is he not playing any FC cricket? he cannot be selected into national side without playing FC.
