Just thought of seeing as to if anyone from here is going to the T20 game this coming Sunday InshahAllah the 27th of June. It will kickstart Pakistan's tour of England this summer so it should be fun.

The game will feature some big names like Ganguly, Lara, Vaas and Ian Harvey for the MCC team along with a few Australian youngsters.

So is there anyone going from here?!

Will this match be televised ?

I actually think it will

Tensports just started its advert for Pakistan and Australia and in the ad the guy speaking say "Tensports presents MCC spirit of cricket, Pakistan vs Australia" and the MCC sign was also there on the screen so fingers crossed

Unlikely to be televised - MCC are the sponsors, hence the logo

MCC are sponsoring Pakistan vs Australia?

I'm still yet to go to any live game and was thinking of going this summer but ain't travelling down south no chance maybe headingly or old trafford if there are any matches. What's it actually like?

This match will clash with England vs Germany so I expect it will be even more sparsely attended than normal.

I would say it is very unlikely.

Perhaps a news bulletin on sky sports is the best hope.

im going to watch tomorow inshallah.

Is pakistan's full team playing???

Hope Lara scores some runs even if its against Pakistan, Hope we get Ganguly out on a Duck

I hope that m.c.c makes special arangements for the England v Germany game, im gonna have to walk out otherwise.

How did u know they're playing? Is there a website with M.C.C.'s squad?

hey sunny, bro, can u please record some of hte clips especially lara's innings? would be much appreciated.

It should be televised somewhere. Otherwise, what's the point of a 'fundraising' match?

Guess we have to live with the radio commentary.

Anyhow its a t20. Can live without watching one.

still not important enough to merit ipl-style coverage or the articles on what sachin had for breakfast and why he had that particular snack on that particular day.

MCC Twenty20 team: Sourav Ganguly (capt), Aiden Blizzard, Brian Lara, Ian Harvey, Mohammad Nabi, Tyron Henderson, Chris Harris, John Simpson (wk), Glenn Querl, Chaminda Vaas, Hamid Hassan

Vaas today scored a 73(49) as an opener (lol) and then went on to take 3-23 against Durham...

To get people to BUY tkts to attend the match???

The "fund-raising" match will not be televised. This is not a football match like that one we had a few weeks ago featuring the leading celebrities of our time. That match attracted a lot of viewers and the stadium was sold out quickly.

This match will barely sell out and it's futile to show the match on T.V when you can't even fill the stadium. I hope a lot of people go and watch the match - I would have if I lived there. Good cause.

Yeah, the gate receipts will cover the cost of 4 hours of utilities. And the janitors. Maybe.

What does the full stadium have to do with the TV broadcast? Pakistan's soccer team isn't playing a world cup game and plenty of Englshmen outside of the Lords area can still switch on their TVs.

Well the last charity T20 game involving Pak in 2006 also wasnt televised, and history tells us, NO charity games involving England are ever televised.

First goal is to always fill the stadium for such occasions.

You put it on T.V and no one will show up.

It shouldn't matter. The Pak-India match in the Asia Cup had a hardly full stadium, but it made tons of money because of people watching it. Your argument only works for local viewers within a 30 mile radius.

Circa 2006, T20s were meant for exactly those kind of contests (charities, celebrities, etc). They are much better followed today. Not saying it will be broadcast, but rather it should be - there isn't a lot of marginal cost of doing it.

I went to see that game. It was reduced to 10 overs and Waqar younis opened the bowling. As I recall Afridi took Zahir khan apart. It was an amazing sight to see Afridi in full flow.

I shall be heading off to Lords pretty soon to watch it ....anyone else going?
