Mega rats the size of rabbits could invade UK households within weeks. The giant rats - branded "ultra rats" by experts - will invade homes as the temperatures fall over the autumn and winter periods.

Rats will try to seek shelter in UK homes. Gardening Express experts say food from uncollected rubbish and leftovers could lead to a deluge.

WalesOnline reports rats are increasing in size due to leftover energy going into body mass and growth. Chris Bonnett, the founder of Gardening Express said: “It is time to protect your garden, and home, now. When rats get hungry, they will eat virtually anything – even dog poo, so you really don’t want these randy infested ultra-rats around.

I dislike hurting any living creature. Im certain none will enter my home but out of interest, what is the best way to catch rats?

Trap them and send them to China and South East Asian countries. Its a delicacy there.

How to trap them without killing them?

They are also worshipped in India. Rats arent as evil as made out by some.

There is nothing wrong with killing mice and rats. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There are five animals for which there is no blame on the one who kills them: crows, kites (hawk-like birds), mice/rats, scorpions and mad dogs.”

I would probably kill rats if there are too many.

Im not sure, this may mean if they are a danger to you. I dont even kill a fly or bug.

No rat is going to be very dangerous to me. I dont want to use poison to kill it. Need some sort of trap.

Yeah. Killing without a good reason is not right.

Killing should be last resort.

Check on YouTube maybe.

Yes it took me 15 mins to catch a fly so I can put it out!

I think Ill just wear a cricket glove and grab it if I see one. :)

Kill them, freeze them and sell them to China.

In India, only in a small area in Rajasthan, are Rats are thought to be the reincarnation of some some deity. Hence they are revered there. The rest of India does not consider rats as Gods or worshipped.

Update your knowledge man.

Never kill a predator which is at the top of the food chain. It is what stabilizes the population of all pests like Rats, Rabbits, Voles etc.

Every animal plays its part in the ecosystem.

Such pests have always been around. Don't need the mainstream media to tell us that. It seems that the government could be releasing these rats themselves as the mainstream media knows so much about it. Covid, monkey pox and now rat invasions!

Any rat in my house is going to get whacked with my crowbar.

Kites and other raptors are an essential part of the food web and should be preserved. I love to see them soar and hover. Such beauty!
