The third interview of this series brings you some insight about a man who really seems to want change in Pakistan for the better, whether it be in cricket or as a nation. He speaks about cricket, politics, his future plans and his personal interests. A very interesting interview about a passionate Pakistani. Ladies and Gentlemen, I present Badsha.

PakPassion.net: Let’s begin with cricket first. What changes you would like to make to improve Pakistan's cricket?

Badsha: Hello. I’d first like to thank PakPassion and all the viewers for giving me the time for this interview. Thanks everyone.

As for Pakistans cricket, I’d like to see more concentration and money pumped into domestic cricket. I believe if we really want our cricket to succeed we’ll need to pump money into the domestic circuit. Marketing clubs and televising club matches will help a lot. Maybe create something like Football clubs are in England.

Other than that I don’t have much hopes for the PCB set up changing with the current government in office.

In regards to current team improvements I’d like to see Ahmed Shehzad given a long run with Hammad Azam in the team. I’d also like to see Umar Akmal promoted to the third spot.

PakPassion.net: You once mentioned that Pakistan is still not ready to host games, so when do you think Pakistan will be ready? Is anything that can be done regarding that?

Badsha: I still don’t think we’re ready. I’m a Pakistani, living in Pakistan and even I don’t feel safe in crowded areas or busy bazaars. How can I expect foreigners to feel comfortable?

Pakistan will be ready once the war in Afghanistan is over. I think that’s the main cause of all this and once the U.S takes a different approach at it, i.e, ends the war we can hope for a more peaceful situation.

PakPassion.net: How do you expect Pakistan to do in the T20 World Cup in September?

Badsha: We’ll win it. That’s what I expect. That’s why they say we’re probably the worst fans out there!

PakPassion.net: Pakistan tour South Africa next year. How do you think they will get along there?

Badsha: We’ll give them a good fight I think. As I mentioned before I’d like to see Shehzad and Hammad Azam in the side. Junaid Khan will also be there and it will be exciting to see how he does.

A lot will depend on our fielding and batting. Let’s hope [Julien] Fountain has done some good even though I’ll give him at least one year before judging his ability.

PakPassion.net: Would you welcome back Amir, Asif and Butt into the Pakistan team?

Badsha: No. Never. I don’t care how good someone is. Cricket is a game I love no matter who is playing. Bowling is a beautiful art and to see someone mess with the competition and beauty of cricket is something I can not stand.

One might argue that after they’ve served their punishment they should be welcomed. But I believe Amir got a very short punishment. It should have been a ten year ban at least.

No doubt, he was a wonderful bowler to watch but to me he’ll always be the cheat. I hope that doesn’t offend anyone.

PakPassion.net: What are your thoughts on how Pakistan can produce a balanced team for the World Cup in 2015?

Badsha: We need good batsmen and fast bowlers for 2015.

I know he got a real tonking last time around but Wahab Riaz is one bowler we should look to give a chance. He’s got express pace and can swing the old ball really well.

Umar Gul gets a lot of stick on here but I think he needs a good new ball partner to perform. I don’t think he can be a good “leader”, rather, lethal in a “pack”. Gul along with Junaid can be a good combo but to really stand a chance we’ll need one more dangerous pacer.

In terms of batting, I like the idea of Azhar Ali opening but I think he needs to concentrate on finding the gaps and taking singles. If he learns to do that he can be a real world beater. With him, Umar Akmal, Shehzad and Hammad Azam and Asad Shafiq we’ll have a decent batting line up.

PakPassion.net: If given an opportunity, who among the past/present player would you like to have played with in a Test match? And why?

Badsha: I won't name players who I didn’t really watch play.

Out of those that I have, it has to be Stephan Fleming. Apart from him being a very classy batsman he was a great captain. Playing under him/with him would’ve been an honour. A real treat to watch him bat.

PakPassion.net: If you had all the power in the world, how would you "fix" Pakistan, the nation?

Badsha: All the power in the world? Well here’s what I’d do:

I’d start of with assigning a few very trust worthy cops of mine to the major cities of Pakistan, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawer and Islamabad giving them orders not to “capture” any criminal. Just shoot them. Later, I’d move into the neighbouring cities and villages. This will eradicate crime and I wish some ruthless law enforcement like that happens.

As for the corrupt ministers and MNA’s I’d give them 20 years in prison or send them out of Pakistan.

I’d destroy all madrasaas. Kill any religious extremists. Destroy all places of vice i.e, night clubs and brothels. No extremism of any sort shall exist. Liberal or religious.

Most of the economy will be pumped into education and the armies budget will be cut by more than half.

Regarding the foreign policy, I’d make sincere peace with India. I’d remain on good terms with the U.S but will not be their slave.

I could go on and on but would not want to bore anyone reading this.

PakPassion.net: What would year reaction and future course of action be in case Tehreek e Insaf loses the upcoming election?

Badsha: Reaction? Disappointment. Shock. Disheartened.

Future course of action? Give up on hoping for a better Pakistan. Personally, I believe Imran Khan to be our only solution. If it doesn’t happen I don’t think there is a better chance.

PakPassion.net: What brought you to PakPassion and how are you finding it here?

Badsha: World cup 2011. Was looking for some cricket forums and found this. Finding it lovely. Pakpassion debates are wonderful!

PakPassion.net: Aside from cricket, what are some other interests of yours?

Badsha: Music with the band, Cooking, singing, playing guitar, Computer Programming, Watching Football (soccer), travelling and working out in the gym.

I also have a passion for dogs.

PakPassion.net: You mentioned you're in a band. How's that coming along?

Badsha: It’s alright. We’ve been inactive past 6 months but we’ll start with our music this season. The link under my account is our bandpage on facebook. You can join that if you want. (Shameless advertising).

PakPassion.net: Who's the muscular dude in your avatar and why have you chosen him?

Badsha: One of my favourite meme’s. How I usually feel.

PakPassion.net: How much can you bench press? How many weights do you use for normal biceps curls?

Badsha: Too embarrassed to answer that. Let’s say, not a lot. I use 28 Kg’s for a normal bicep curl though (using both hands). 12 for one.

PakPassion.net: Most people have a role-model, who is/was yours?

Badsha: My father and Imran Khan. Imran khan for never giving up, always being a fighter and achieving what he says despite the obstacles in front of him.

PakPassion.net: What do you do for a living? What were/are your dreams?

Badsha: I am a student studying computer science. My dreams are having a nice successful life, making music with my band and hopefully joining the FBI when I’m done with my education.

PakPassion.net: You used to participate in the PakPassion Cricket League before retiring not too long ago. How did you find the experience and do you miss your former team that you created and captained, Big Cats?

Badsha: I miss them. I miss them all. But I had to move on.

Things were getting tough and the league wasn’t paying me enough. I wouldn’t want to go into that though. I think the league was otherwise very well managed. I’d like to thank Teesra, musarthali, cricketworm, the legend of dubawi, velu, talha and sharukh for always being helpful and standing by my side during the season.

Badsha: Thank you all and everyone on this website for giving me the time for this interview.

Hehe. I do a lot of grilling Teesra. Can cook a mean steak :afridi

And thanks everyone else

Good interview.

Badsha, human beings especially teenagers are always prone to make mistakes in their life. Amir deserves a second chance like everyone else.

Respect for Badsha has increased 10 folds!

Great interview! Very ambitious and realistic mind. Good luck with your studies and future. Keep posting!

Btw. let me get this right you use 28 kg means 60 lbs for biceps curls?!? :O That's a lot! if true, very impressive. I use 30 lbs for curls only, well I do it for 10 - 12 different sets though for 10-15 raps for each sets.

Yes but using two hands! Bicep curl with the rod.

It's the only exercise I can do "decent".

Nice interview!

I must say you have some interesting opinions regarding Pakistani cricket and the Pakistan nation as a whole.
But don't you think the opinion about Amir deserving 10 years of punishment is a but too harsh? :amir

Any specific kind of steak? Medium Rare, etc.?

I do a ton of barbecue which isn't too hard :)) :))

Haven't poisoned anyone yet :afridi

Jamie oliver style.

High heat. Rub the raw steak with olive oil and pepper. Cook it by flipping it often. Wait till it's medium rare. Cook the mushrooms and add some butter to it late (so the butter doesn't burn).

For the mashed potatoes, boil 10 potatoes. Peel them. Mash them and add butter and milk. Pour steak gravy over the mashed potatoes.

Get a nice glass of red wine and enjoy your steak. :afridi

joking about the wine. :moyo

Good one Badsha bhai:19:!

good interview Badsha :)

hope you dont ask your puppy to lift weight ;-)

Good interview. I would do something similar if I had all the power in world :D

Good interview Badsha.

But I think you should be taken out of the fold of Islam for writing, playing and listening to music.

:P

Thanks everyone for your comments.

James, maybe but then I pray a lot so I fool people into accepting me :asif
