No I'm not talking about the batsmen this time around I'm talking about the overhyped bowlers and more-so Amir/Shinwari. I can also put Shadab in that category but he's been one of our better bowlers so I'd chalk this one off as an anomaly of sorts.
Anyway back to the dire nature of Amir and Shinwari today has shown their lack of progression, especially Shinwari who still hasn't shown his can consistently swing the ball, in fact he's more often than not a gun-barrel "straight" type bowler that doesn't swing or seam the ball.
He got tonked today but kept persisting in bowling short, bowling too full etc. The utter lack of planning by the bowlers has been shown series after series.
On to Amir. Goodness me, how bad has he been since the CT? Just aimless bowling and nothing has come of him being sent back to domestic cricket to improve on his swing/seam and serious questions have to be asked about his career.
Shaheen has been the spark in the bowling but he's only a kid that's been burdened with the pressure of leading the bowling line-up. That's too much pressure for a kid with a bright future.
Something needs to change, but we've been recycling the same rants we had for some time, but that tell you a lot about those in charge of the PCB and the coaching aspects of Pakistan cricket.
