Fakhar Zaman speaking at the post match presentation after this 210*:

"First of all thanks to Almighty God. At the start Imam was playing very well and he supported me well. I was also playing well in the start and I think today was my day and I scored a double ton"

"Yes I knew about Saeed Anwar's score. Mickey was telling me before the toss that if we win it, we will bat first and he said I want you to score a double-hundred. He was telling me the same thing a couple of days ago also but I applied myself today and made it"

"Imam is playing really well and is supporting me well. He talks to me whenever I feel uncomfortable, we play together in domestic also and he's playing well and we're doing good"

"I will try to not give the middle-order a chance in the last match"

"Mickey was saying that due to my form, he wanted 200 from me, not 100. He kept saying to take it long. I was lucky also as a few chances went in the gap etc"

"In the beginning I was trying to get the team off to a good start, Imam batted really well"

"I am feeling very happy"

"Saeed Anwar is a very big player for Pakistan so I am pleased to break such a record, I can't thank Allah enough"

"InshaAllah I will try to give even better performances than this in future"

"I never thought about breaking Saeed Anwar's record. I wanted to just play 1 FC match. Then I played that and next I thought I want to become an international player but I never thought this big"

"I had planned till 100, after that I had done no real planning, I just tried to hit the bad balls and to make the team's score as large as possible, I wasn't focused on trying to get 200"

"I would like to dedicate this innings to all those who worked on me and my cricket improvement. Firstly Sir Nazim then my navy 4-5 friends who I stayed with in a room for 5 years, Ilyas, Niazi, Lal Kumar, Kaiser, Shakeel Ahmed etc. After that all our NCA coaches. When I played for Pakistan A it was very difficult for me, but Shahid bhai, Mansoor bhai, Mushy bhai and everyone worked hard with me. I dedicate it to them all, including coaches in Karachi - Azam bhai, Tahir bhai, Asim bhai, Azam Khan. I dedicate it to all these coaches and management people. It's a moment of great happiness for me and I want to remember them all at this occasion. Also all the management of the Pakistan team, Grant Flower, Grant Luden, Mickey, Azhar bhai, I would like to thank them all and dedicate it to them"

Mickey is just a great coach. He is giving players the confidence they need to succeed. I hope Inzy backs him and stops selecting the likes of hafeez/shehzad.

This team is three steps away from being the best in the world.

1) Developing Imam into a 90+ SR opener.

2) Finding a middle-order batsman who can bowl off-spin. (Agha Salman says HI!)

3) Introducing able replacements for Amir (Shaheen) and Shadab (Zafar Gohar).

Hmmm so Mickey Arthur goes by the username "Rana" in here? :virat

Lol, Fauji has humor

+ Developing Faheem into a better batsman
I wont mind if in next game, Faheem might be promoted to bat #3, and get going as batsman

Sometimes, when chasing 300+ scores, its also important to score heavily in first 10-15 overs and then accumulate when the field spreads.

XI for next game

Fakhar Zaman
Imam
Faheem Ashraf
Sarfaraz Ahmed
..rest of the players

Imam is annoying some time. He will keep strike in his hands taking single on last ball.
Which of strike our main player fakher.
If uthapa would partner zaman. He surly would have broken the record of highiest individual score today

Fakhar has a great sense of humour:

"I will try to not give the middle-order a chance in the last match"

:rp

Commentators have been mentioning that Faheem had been padded up ready to bat at number 4 during the past few games, but never got a chance as Pakistan did not need number 4 to bat.

Superb motivation by Mickey.

Fakhar is producing the goods under his watch. He has the mental toughness I'd expect from ex Navy.

Fakhar was like a player that would be happy with nice 30s and 40s but few 100's. This has changed and his desire is there for all to see.

Because Fakhar is a hard worker. People can only change if they're willing to put the effort in. If Mickey was dealing with Haris Sohail, on the other hand, then...

It also helps that Fakhar is receiving advice from an internationally proven coach.

If Fakhar was dealing with Waqar Younis on the other hand, then...

I'll give you that one. I have started liking Arthur now but I don't know how this happened since my opinions change very rarely.

I still have a problem with how much he loves the combo of Babar and Amir but he's done lots of good things also.

Anyone with eyes can they are good. But, unfortunately some people have agendas against certain players

Double fluke?! :yk2

(Also Fakhar deserves another smiley.)

I like the internal challenges Mickey gives his players to keep on competing. Aiming higher.

I remember an interview of Austalia's coach when they whitewashed us the entire summer in 2010. He said the players didn't give into the easiness of the opposition, they kept competing within themselves trying to make themselves better, pushing the limits in every game. That is what Mickey is trying to do here. Don't take an easy oppsotion as easy, and challenge yourself every time.

What a top lad, Mickey arthur is. Thankyou to PCB for selecting such a top coach. Truly a blessing to have him.

Unless we are in the dressing room we dont know if a coach is good or bad except by looking at the results. I dont know if Waqar was good or bad and nor if Mickey is as good as claimed and nor do you. I am friends with an ex FC county player and he often tells that coaching at the higher level is nothing like what we lay people perceive to be it.

Mickey is a fantastic coach who believes in the ability of his players. Remember how sure he was that Aamir would deliver in the CT final?

At least Mickey doesn't pick the like of Asad over Babar in odis. That should be enough to know who's better.

There is no doubt that Mickey or whoever is making the selections has made a conscious effort to get rid of the dross.
