Pakistan has a history of many issues between political and military people. Today as well there has been some verbal altercations between the two. First on Nawaz Sharif's comments. But I dont think he stated anything which is not known. Musharraf has admitted to infiltrating and training militant groups in Kashmir. And then on the ISI and RAW's book.
Two of the most important incidents which I believe have led to the bad blood between the two are below. Who do you think the people should be supporting?
1. 1971 war: Political people like Yahya khan wanted to stay in power. He crushed the democracy by assaulting Bengali people via military. But in the end the way military behaved with them was also brutal. They raped, killed their own people. Who was responsible? Whom to believe?
2. 1999 war: Till today there is a dispute between Musharraf and Nawaz Sharif about this. Nawaz blames military and Musharraf blames Nawaz that he was briefed already about this war. I personally would believe Nawaz sharif because nawaz wont want war with India especially when there was peace process going on between Atal Bihari Vajpayi. But again whom to believe?
3. Baluchistan war: Again it was politicians who didnt gave the rights that Baluchis deserved and used military to suppress them instead of hearing them.
Its not that military want bad for Pakistan or civilians want any harm. But whose narratives to be supported?
