Misbah and Yasir are part of the MCC side that will face Afghanistan on the 11th as the Afghans make their Lord's debut. (http://www.pakpassion.net/ppforum/showthread.php?262691)

Is it the right thing to do or should they have refrained from participating, consider ACB's comments just over a month ago?

The ACB administration would like to offer its prayers and thoughts to the victims of today's attack in Kabul and pray for the speedy recovery of the those injured in the attack.

By killing innocent and destitute people today, the enemies of Afghanistan's peace and stability showed that they are not worthy of friendship and will not change thier stance against Afghans.

In light of the findings of security services and calls by the Afghan people, the ACB hereby cancel all kinds of cricket matches and mutual relationship agreement with the Pakistan Cricket Board.

No agreement of friendly matches and mutual relationship agreement is valid with a country where terrorists are housed and provided safe havens.

With the hope of a prosperous and developed Afghanistan!

Yasir shah should lose his central contract if he does play and misbah should be fired from any pcb and media role.... period. Only way these greedy guys will get a message.

Not only that, but they should also both be deported from Pakistan.

How dare they play for MCC against Afghanistan!?

They should play and whip the Afghani boys like no tomorrow. They are all tullaybaaz and don't deserve to play test cricket.

Yes. Absolutely the right thing to do. Otherwise what is the difference between the PCB and these other boards who act in such a childish manner?

PCB should in fact offer to send an 'A' team to Afghanistan. Extend the olive branch and hopefully the ACB chiefs will realize that their comments were completely unprofessional and false.

We shouldn't extend anything to them. We have helped them from the beginning and they spat at us in return. We have some self-respect and national pride and we shouldn't do anything to help these guys until they apologize for the unwarranted and pathetic comments.

Playing for MCC is an honour. Being invited by them and playing with the guys there is just unbelievable. Its kind of a crickets all star game.

Now you have to be a fool to let go an all star game because of the opponent.

Pakistani players shoyldnt play in afghanistan, no should we as a team play against them.

But individuals representing the MCC is no harm.

Point is you pull out to send a message, if misbah or yasir pull out no message is gonna be sent. They would be reeplaced easily

Absolutely the right thing to do.

Pakistani players have been missing from these "rest of the world" style fixtures, so nice to see a couple of them represent Pakistan at the highest level.

Sure the Afghan board statement was ridiculous and is gonna come back to bite them big time when nobody else will tour them, but this is about putting Pakistan first, and having 2 out 11 players being Pakistani is a huge thing in putting our name back in the hat as a top top cricket side.

Which world does this guy live in :91:

If there is a next attack the ACB will be instructed to say the same rubbish, ergo repeat.

Will be funny if Misbah changes his mind..

Don't think, Yasis Shah, World's no 1 bowler, and Misbah, one of the greatest captain ever, should be hungry for such honours. Would have understood, if there would have been lesser indivuals, but these two..No way

Yes they should do. Misbah doesn't even play for Pakistan anymore so he can do what he wants surely

?

People say we shouldn't play against Afghanistan and I will say that I am on the same stance as everyone else on here against Afghanistan but I think we should play against them and just rip them apart. That's the sweetest thing you can do and it will burn them up :D

Misbah and Yasir are cricketers, not politicians. They are there to play cricket and not to attend diplomatic meetings. All those who say Misbah and Yasir should not play against Afghanistan, please tell me should Aisam-ul-Haq also refuse to play against any Israeli opponent? Ridiculous.

I can't wait till Misbah destroys the overhyped Rashid Khan and Yasir runs through this minnow batting lineup.

I don't understand the hatred for cricketers because of comments from their boards.

I remember 2012 Bangladesh was highly supported but once Mostafa Kamal made false promises everyone started hated the players and such.

And then after comments from ACB president the cricketers started getting flak.

I despise some politicians in certain cricket boards and their comments but doesn't make me hate the players. When PCB president Zaka Ashraf denied NOCs some Pakistan players actually raised their voices. We didn't hate Pakistan team we hated the board.

Don't belittle Afghanistan cricket team. They are just entertainers not politicians who run cricket. Blame it on the board.

Of course it isn't. But when have Pakistani players had any sense of shame? Disgraceful stuff.

It's funny because when it comes to India, despite them saying all sorts of things, Pakistan still begs for more games. The stance should be the same. Your high morale and ethics should not change with the opponent.

A civilized world where we look for allies and not enemies. You won't understand.

The Indian government does and the Indian government decides whether a series can or cannot be played between the two teams.

That is correct, but is not really related to the situation.

If the Afghanistan government made ACB cancel the series then it would be a different matter as external politics would be the cause. But what's happened here is that the cricketing board ITSELF has involved politics in the matter.

I am all for allies and for improving relations with other boards. But when the board itself is openly calling your country terrorists then...

Really? The world I live in is ***-for-that, where everyone shows some steel and spine and guts. You won't understand that concept.

Nothing wrong. They should play. It was a stupid comment from an unprofessional person not the team.

To be fair - Anurag Thakur has also made plenty of political stataments regarding how India cannot play cricket with Pakistan due to border attacks.

Obviously not as extreme as the statement by the ACB but BCCI still gets involved in politics.

Fair enough - yeah, he is a politician and thus used to say inflammatory stuff at times. Not involved with the BCCI any more, I believe.

This games being live streamed on YouTube for those interested with radio commentary linked in. Misbah out caught behind for 7. Match is probably going to be rained off though.
