Misbah-ul-Haq's double standards on Sarfaraz Ahmed and Azhar Ali

Did not take Misbah a second to have Sarfaraz replaced after our T20 series defeat to Sri Lanka in Pakistan but it appears he is in no mood to do the same to Azhar Ali who has been a tail ender in the last two and a half years and has neither shown any leadership qualities either.

So why two different treatments with two different players but the same set of facts? Is it because Azhar Ali is his beloved Janasheen with the same personality and mindset?

We all are clear that Sarfaraz was removed due to failures over a period of years. Whether Azhar was the right choice or not, is another issue but keeping Sarfaraz in that state in the side was not right.

Tbh Asad Shafiq even if he is not delivering as expected has better stats than Azhar Ali since May 2017. He has never been tested captaincy wise and should be given the responsibility to see if he will sink or swim

Since misbah and younas left Azhar averages 28 and sarfaraz 25 so you have a point they have both done equally the same so why one treatment for 1 and a promotion for the other?

May be the media support for a particular player irked the new management...

As an outsider and a neutral supporter I agree Misbah's double standard policies and attitude. Misba ul haq as a captain have ruined the careers of Haris Sohail (Now he will be discarded permanantly, Mark my words), never gave him permanent place in the team XI when in peak, Usman Salauddin, Fawad Alam and Tabish Khan are few others. Now he will continue with mediocre players who are yes man to Misbah like Iftiquar and Imran Sr.

Tbh, watching the Pakistani team now it appears we have gone back to the Misbah era of 2010 to 2017, only difference is we do not have the likes of a pre 15 degree Ajmal, Hafeez, an inform Afridi, Junaid and Irfan to make our bowling look like a formidable ODI and T20 bowling line up

What pressure??? He can do miles better than Azhar, all he needs is a good mentor to teach him about field placements, analysis of the pitch, weather conditions and using bowlers. I know it's easier said than done but all he needs is somebody nice like Younis Khan to teach him about these things and then he needs an "old head" in the team, he'll become successful with time but i feel it's unfair to award a captaincy to someone who's own average has been declining since 2017.

Azhar is a yes man and hence awarded the captaincy despite poor performances. Same was done after 2015 WC when Misbah recommended Azhar as captain. Its so simple that Misbah who himself is a yes man likes yes men same as him.

And Misbah knows he can dictate Azhar and new captain Babar easily

Basically Misbah is captaining the side .
I feel for Azhar but it’s his fault too to accept captaincy

You can't say if Azhar was right or wrong but you can confidently say that Sarfaraz was the wrong decision lol.

And there was a better choice! Asad shaifqie whose stats are better who was the vice captain but instead you decided to go with another tried and tested failure.

Yea Rashid Latif was talking abt this! Also apparently Misbah lectures Babar and everyone about how great iftikhar is! This is the kinda stuff that leads to Grouping in team. What else can you expect from an inexperienced hire.

There shouldn’t be pressure on Babar as skipper, he’s comfortably our best bat, test or LOI...he’d do well, set standards.

He should be the test and ODI skip, give t20 to shadab.
