Why isn't Pakistan considering Abbas in LOIs? He seems to be decent bowling prospect in National T20 and can be an option.

I understand that he is not a front-line choice in the team, but would you put him in LOI squad as an option?

Because Amir, Hasan, Shinwari, Raees & Junaid are better options.

Too slow, cant bat and an average fielder

Agree with the last two. Pace isn't an issue for him, in fact it will add even more variety, we have the variations of Raees, the pace of Hasan Ali, the swing of Amir so Abbas would fit in well but the fact he is a average fielder and not a good batsman goes against him. Having proper tail enders is a big weakness now especially in white ball cricket.

His inability with bat. These days you cannot have a bowler who cannot bat , unless he is a match winner like MaGrath , Ambrose , Donald etc.

Seems to lack variety for the limited-overs formats.

Leave him for Tests.

I am not sure if he is test quality bowler either. Test Cricket is not that much focus for Pakistan, in Misbah & UAE era our entire test focus is spin, only focus is bowlers who can dry up run and can support spin, skill is not the criteria or focus... Atleast now in ODIs we are looking at depth and breath, he has very little to offer in those areas...

Wow!!
Pakistan has so many options when it comes to bowling.

Totally forgot about Abbas who is a pretty good bowler. He is unlucky to play in the same generation as Amir/Hasan/Raes/Shinwari/Junaid etc.
