Mohammad Amir has already won you two ICC trophies. Its a shame that he (supposedly) has plans to neglect test cricket in future but he still is your best pace bowler across formats and can up his game when required.
Umar Akmal has done nothing in comparison and is already finished at International level. He’s also got some issues with understanding himself and the world around him. Cant see the situation improving for him.

I get why but no you can’t compare the two. Amir still has a future for starters and has achieved at international level. He’s lost 5 years of cricket, maybe our expectation of him is too high?

I dont see any logic behind this thread. As mentioned above, he won us the CT final and took Dilshan’s wicket in T20 Final.
I hope he finds rhythm in the upcoming test series, because pre-ban, the Aus and End series in England, it was a treat to watch him(and M.Asif from the other end.)

no comparison, Amir has already helped Pak win 2 ICC tournaments, won't go down as an ATG but he won't do too badly in the rest of his career, Umar Akmals career was finished before it started which is a shame as the talent was there.

Umar Akmals problem is very different than Amir's

Amir has generally been in poor form since his return, but hard to say he isn't working hard .. there's a case to be made that Amir never was as good as we thought he was in 2010

Akmal lacks work ethic and has serious mental issues

Amir while missing 5 years already achieved so much even compared to PAK greats then who is UA?

Majority of PAK fans care about LOIs and games vs India. How many PAK bowlers dismissed SRT and Kohli in high profile games for low scores? Only 1 and thats Amir. The likes of Akram, waqar, Shoaib had their chances but failed. Amir has given PAK supporters bragging rights and even for that only he will also be a hero for me.

UA is not even 1% the player and impact Amir is.

I have never heard of Amir having attitude problems or lack of work ethic. Yes he hasn’t been as good as he was but he has always stepped up when it’s really mattered. Also he has been a bit unlucky with the amount of dropped catches he has. Also a lot of the time he builds up the pressure from his bowling end and then the bowler on the other end will taking the wicket which for him can be unfortunate. This is why statistics never tell you a full story.

As bad as Amir is now-a-days there is no compare with him and U Akmal.
Amir as a batsman is even more reliable than U Akmal. Umar Akmal never had a talent to compare with any legend like Kohli, Tendukar or Smith. Apart from 1 or 2 all of his performances are just a fluke. Even Afridi had more talent than Akmal.

Umar Akmal is a nobody in international arena.

M Amir isn't 100% fit yet. But he doesn't seem to be interested in working on his fitness. If he manages to reach his pre-ban fitness he will torment lineups esp. in swinging and bouncy conditions.
UA is a waste anyways.

Not really, although he may not be taking a lot of wickets, he is still operating at a good economy as opponents look to play him out

lets take out all the success pakistan has had....

keep telling yourself that whilst umer akmal loses the plot and gets kicked out even from 1st class cricket. I think his psl career is already over. Very talented indeed!
